Marvel versus DC versus Typemoon
« on: April 14, 2013, 09:17:04 PM »
I've talked about this idea before but I decided to do this proper but before I can write it there's a few things I believe are worth discussing, namely a few things like who should be in this battle, there's a lot of characters between these franchises and logically we need to pick representatives (indeed it's a part of the versus premise of the original) in this battle.

10 marvel characters, 10 DC characters and 20 TM characters.

why? well partly due to inter-continuity established in company crossovers and because I want enough space to include all kinds of TM characters.

now let be me absolutely clear, TM is about situational combat, as such and especially with the TKO immobilization rule established in the original marvel versus DC crossover power levels do not apply, if you enter this discussion complaining about any such thing you will be ignored. matching opponents for the TM characters will initially be done by me after the TM characters are selected by committee here.

as for determining the winner of a fight in the original crossover it was determined by vote, I can do the same here if you guys want, otherwise I'll decide the outcome of fights.

now who do you guys want to represent Typemoon?

OK, so, what's the basic idea here? I remember some of it, but I don't remember what the basic concept is, what happens to the losers of the fights etc.

Also, what do you mean by "powerlevels don't apply"? Whilst I agree that it's not as simple as "Gil is the most powerful and therefore kills everyone", some characters are more powerful than others, and some characters are also more suited to fighting certain fights than others.

Oh, also, would the TM characters be assumed to know who the DC and Marvel characters were (even if believing them to be fictional)?

power level do not matter, it's all about the situation at hand, that's the way things work, simple clean and without the nerd rage.

I might make it transparent in that both sides are fictional to one another.

the premise is simple, it's a battle royal between the representatives to decide the fate of the involved universes

I see.

Well, that does make sense, but even so it wouldn't be fully transparent, because I suspect a lot more people have heard of Superman in Japan than have heard of Matou Sakura or Tohsaka Rin in America....

Yeah, that makes sense, although I assume they have to find some way to prevent any of the universes being destroyed, ultimately.

Also, like I said, what about people who are defeated? Do they live (at least temporarily), or are they killed?

depends on the fighters but death as a result is very, very unlikely.

Ah, OK, so it's only if they're killed in the fight?

Well, personally I'd go for Sakura, Rin, Rider, Saber, Shirou, Archer at least. Is it only good(ish) guys who are fighting, or are the villains involved too?

Well, yeah, I'm unlikely to be particularly helpful aside from Fate. I do like Extra Rin, but having her and canon Rin would be confusing....

Other than the ones I suggested, Caster might be a good idea. Also, probably Gil, as much of a dick as he is, because it would be odd for the original hero to not be included. Oh, and Berserker, I guess (probably not insane). Ilya would be a bit cruel (both on her and also on her opponents).

Rin needs to kick Cyclops' ass and do it hard.  Then maybe bond with Wolverine afterwords.  (What, Wolverine has that thing where he easily befriends teenage girls.)

Sakura . . . She's harder to pin in a fight.  What about Magik?  Pitor's sister?
