"There is nothing against cleaning up the blood if you really want to," Paladin paused as the sound of sirens filled the air "but it seems like the local law enforcement has been called. We should get moving."
They ran to the entrance of this the zoo only to see that the wagon was gone.
"Well, this is unfortunate. Do you have a plan for getting out of this without hurting the officers? I will not harm them. We can find the wagon later."
His last words were completely drowned out by shock.
The wagon was gone. The wagon was disappeared, kaput, gone. With it, the entirety of my studies on the fog, current society, pre-fog society, mutants... everything! My entire life, gone in the short amount of time it took to murder some defenseless penguins.
So not worth it.
"No, we're finding the wagon
now," I growl unhappily. As I did, two police cars came in tow, sirens blazing. They screeched to a halt and four uniformed officers came out. "And I know just who to ask about its location."
"They're at the southern exit, send backup!" One officer yelled into a radio as he got out of his car, an obvious premonition of trouble. He and his three allies drew weapons from their belts and pointed them at us. "Drop your weapons!"
"I have a plan. Paladin, I'm going to ask you to do exactly as I say," I say in a low voice, waiting for his affirmation. I also pull up my Inferno Revolver, big metal piece of shit that it is, and point it at the officers.
Nervousness is clear in their faces, and honestly, it might also be clear in mine.
