Than'Sanel

Than'Sanel tried to relax himself, his magically constructed pillars independent as best as he could manage. The strain he had put himself under magically had taken a toll on his reserves and nerves, and the saproling he had used as a focus would have to remain where it was for a little while. Law enforcers and clerics arriving on-scene eased his worries, but he could not fully confort himself - innocents had been put in harms' way because of that thing.

And now, he overlooked the damages with Than'Sanel and the now awake Ann as relief teams moved in.
"It's still there, even as nothing but a puddle," he said aloud.
Than'Sanel paid little heed to Ann's interaction with Sarse, instead opting to ask the question that bothered him. "Do either of you know what that thing is? Even Archons, incarnations of the darker, vengeful side of White magic, have not given me such a feeling or had a similar power to that. Only rumors and whispers of certain horrors match up to what that thing did."

He would not dwell on the nightmarish tales of Eldrazi and their ability to annihilate in the truest sense possible, yet on a minor scale the thing, that humanoid of bronze, could have done something similar to what was turned to water.

Corporal Mathew Blackburn:

"I guess so." Mathew began, "But I am looking forward to a shower and some food more right now, though."

Mordred

"I don't want to be a bother and stay at your house too long, but I understand that borrowing me books might be... risky. I'm surprised nothing weird has happened yet today, I don't know if I'm unlucky because I attract trouble or lucky because I pull through it somehow..."

Noel

“I could make you some food if you like!” Noel said. “I’ll make you something while you take a shower, ok?”

Faust

Faust chuckled. “Something would have to be pretty foolish to attack me. Either that or just full of overconfidence.”

Mordred

"I have this premonition there are things lurking in this accursed city now that may be troublesome to handle. What I have seen may be just a tip of iceberg. Add that grizzly murder that happened where I first saw glimpse of that woman and I seriously feel anxious about the future of normal people here"

Corporal Mathew Blackburn:

Still quite the enthusiastic one. Oh, well, can't say no to free food...

The yellow transport pulled up to a moderately-sized building. Has noting on the Hive Spires of Harlech or Valanis Secondus, but it looks kind of homely. "Is this the place?" Mathew asked the small woman.

“Yes, we’ve arrived. Hold on a second.” Noel fished out her wallet and paid the taxi driver. “Let’s grab your things now.” Noel got out of the car and began unloading it.

Corporal Mathew Blackburn:

Mathew followed suit and got out of the vehicle. With a slight limp, he went to the rear and grabbed his Volleygun and the bag that held his Carapace Armor. "Can you please grab my rucksack, Miss?"

“Yeah, no problem!” Noel happily exclaimed. Noel then grabbed his bag and led him inside upstairs to her apartment. “So, here we are.” Noel said, opening the door for him.

Corporal Mathew Blackburn:

Mathew couldn't believe what he saw when the door was opened...

The apartment was a paradox of clutter and cleanliness. There were so much useless crap that one could hardly move around, yet there was not a hint of dust anywhere. Why does that chair have an empty aquarium as a back rest? Why does that hammer have a spork for a handle? Who could possibly need a coffee table with a sandbox in it? Is that armor for a horse?

Blackburn slowly limped in, taking in the menagerie of the odd and the strange that laid before him.

Forest

Forest frowned at the giant woman-thing in her home and answered, "A lot, but this is a dimensional Nexus.  There's different kinds of vampires here, but while some of them are absolute terrors and others of them are neutral. It depends.  There are things a lot worse than vampires here though."

She looked at Adjutor and said, "So, let's get you some clothing and into a shower."  She tilted her head and started to head out of the kitchen, gesturing him to follow.

"Well, make yourself at home. Just put your stuff wherever for now; we'll need to set up the futon later. The shower is right down the hall on the left." Noel said. She carefully looked over Blackburn's dirty figure, and came to a decision.

"You should probably get cleaned up, I'll start on your food as soon as I put this stuff down."

"Thank you," he says, following, "Worry not, I will be sure to repay your hospitality later."

This isn't necessary, though.

What? Her leading us to the showers?

I mean, is it just that she doesn't trust us?

Unlikely, considering what she's said about herself.

And random strangers are above lying? But, then again, random strangers wouldn't take people like us in, would they...?

I'm not going to bother with the complex moral ramifications too much. Instead, I am going to stare at this wonderful ass she's got.

Goddammit, Xarrest!

Live a little.

Regardless, nothing showed in his pace as he followed Forest, taking in the building around them and scanning for any traps, magical or otherwise, while also planning out optimal locations for laying such traps.

Corporal Mathew Blackburn:

"...Right."

Mathew placed his armor bag and weaponry onto a table, which had barely enough room with all the stuffed animals on it. Some of them he can recognize (It is weird to see such a cutesy Lion; He's used to them being symbols of strength!), others he did not (That is certainly a long-necked, tan-and-brown goat).

He turned around, looking across the apartment, "So...How do you exactly afford all this stuff?"

"I owe a lot of money to the home shopping networks." Noel said mournfully. "But, I have a plan to solve my money issues! I've heard through the grapevine about this Nazi hunt thing, they're paying twenty thousand dollars for a bit of vigilante work. It's a pretty sweet deal. But anyway, go take a shower, shoo, clean yourself up, you're a mess!"
