Lorenzo's look was of pure shock as Guts revealed what had happened. He looked right at the warrior's face, his face as crisp as a corpse’s.
« You… », the pirate growled, his hands were shaking, teeth gnashing he could barely contain himself as his nails dug under his skin.
He could still hear their cries.
« How dare you! », he howled, his fist flying at Guts, a pummelling unlike the one prior. Yes, unlike his laidback punch back then, this was a serious blow, what Guts had implied… was something he couldn’t let pass.
« Yes, you are right. », he smirked, almost disdainfully. « I live for myself and only for myself. The pleasures life has to offer are something I consider to be my taking… You could say I am a greedy man, a vile man, a vain man.», he snarled, glaring at the warrior.
« But I would never, not even for the whole world, not even for a thousand whores and golden valleys, put my desires above the lives of my companions. Don’t you EVER take me as such… scum! »
His fist hurt, impulsively, he didn’t think of where his fist would land. Without thinking, Lorenzo had landed a blow on Guts’s armour, but he cared not of the pain.
His eyes piercing the warrior’s, his face twisted as he let out a pained chuckle. Looking up at the sky, he sighed, a saddened smile crawled on his face.
« Eh…this, isn’t funny at all lad. I am… sorry. »
And he cursed, he cursed the man who had dared to betray his companions, the man who used them and threw them away like disposable thrash.
"A true captain... would never do such thing."
But was that pained cry directed to Guts, or to himself? No one would ever know.
