[Alice]

He chucked dryly. "If you think you would annoy me more than certain people in this very building already have, you clearly do not know me that well yet."

Then, suddenly, he found himself pulling her into his arms. His cheeks turned bright red. He'd done it without really thinking. Or even remotely planning on doing so. But...

"While I'm questioning why I am doing this as well, I have a feeling you may need physical comfort like this. Forgive me for my imprudence."

[Elf]

"N-no, it's okay," Forest replied returning the slightly awkward hug.  "I'm . . . just not in a good place right now.  Honestly, I've never really been in a good place, but . . . "

The blond shrugged and gave the taller man a pat on the back.  "It's not your fault and at this point there's nothing I can really do about it."

[Alice]

"Considering my current position, it may sound odd for me to say this, but... I understand how you feel." Tom awkwardly gave Forest a pat on the back as well. ...He was not afraid to admit that he wasn't particularly experienced or even good at this sort of thing. "There was a time where I went through what many would perhaps consider a living hell. Where I wondered if death would be a better ending for me. Where anyone reaching out to me would have been a blessing."

Unconsciously, the embrace got a bit tighter. "If I can bring the sort of relief I never got to at least one other person, then perhaps my time here would not have been a complete waste."

[Elf]

No, no if he keeps this up . . . the blond thought as she felt icy, bloody tears sting her eyes.  Then the strange, beautiful man's grasp got tighter around her.  His words hit home; they echoed her own mission statement.

"I save others because I know what its like to need to be saved and having no one save you.  No one should have to feel that."

Yet she did, and this man she barely met, who was a virgin who apparently didn't like people at all was hugging her to try to comfort her.  She didn't say anything, because she knew if she did the tears would fall.

[Alice]

Please don't cry...

He could smell it. The faintest tinge of salt... and something metallic? Instinctively, he crouched down to pull Forest into a more natural hug, her head now over his shoulder, his cheek now against her neck. For once he didn't even think about not thinking about it. He just acted.

[Elf]

I'm sorry . . . I just . . .  No one's really done this . . .

Forest returned the hug, his body bending over to hug her better.  Thank you.

Interesting.... Those look fun, Rider thought as he demonstrated the versatility of his appendages.

She definitely wanted him to use them on her, to punish and ravish her with them and with his own body. But, how would she make it happen?

I know, she thought as she finished her second drink, the effect of the alcohol on her becoming greater, and reducing her inhibitions somewhat.

Then, passing over her empty glass, she spoke once more.

You're welcome. He chucked awkwardly. Admittedly I'm not entirely certain I'm doing this right, I'm not terribly used to this sort of thing. He felt more heat flare up to his cheeks, but he brushed it off. Is there anything else I could do?

Forest gave him a tiny squeeze and said aloud, "Thank you Tom.  You did fine.  . . . Is it okay if I call you Tom?"

[Alice]

"Tom is fine. Despite my formal speech, once I am properly acquainted with someone, I'm not terribly interested in formalities." He (with surprising reluctance, he found) released her, his hands still on her shoulders. "Could I offer you anything else? Another drink perhaps?" It felt oddly good to be able to be genuinely kind to someone. It was so rare he felt this charitable towards anyone.

[Elf]

"Maybe some orange juice?" Forest replied.  What the bloody hell is with this stuff?  I'm a vampire.  I shouldn't get tipsy like this . . .  Any more and I'll be begging some bloke to shag me.

She gave him a wan smile and said, "I should just hire some attractive redhead manwhore at some point . . ."

[Alice]

"Certainly." He turned towards the bartender. "Bartender! Do you mind getting us some orange-"

He sighed. Still preoccupied with the purple haired woman. Tom turned back to Forest.

"That may have to wait for a bit, unless you don't mind me going over and pouring it for you myself."

Tom thought for a moment. ...and then he found himself blushing harder than he had ever blushed before.

"You would like someone to have intercourse with you? I could provide that for you, if you really wished it. I mean, I am curious about it..."

What am I saying?! Has the alcohol really altered my thinking this much?

"Well, I mean if I have to I can get it myself," Forest said, looking at the poor guy who wanted to run from Rider's attention.  Considering the stories that Saber told me, I really don't blame the poor bastard.

Then she blinked at Tom's somewhat awkward offer.  She shook her head and said, "N-no.  You. . . you should do that with someone you care about.  Especially for your first time.  I mean . . . I wish I had gotten to."

[Alice]

"I certainly don't mind getting it for you if you want it. A cup of orange juice is a simple enough thing for me to retrieve after all."

He rubbed the back of his head, still blushing. "To be perfectly frank, I don't particularly know if I will ever find someone like that. And I mean... you seem like one of the few decent people in this city, and that's hard enough to find as it is, and if it makes you feel better..."

He found himself nervously adjusting his glasses, mentally slapping himself. It had to be the alcohol, what else could explain him acting like such a fool?

[Elf]

"Well, I'm a vampire," Forest blurted out, "And not just that I'm an 'eternal virgin' so there's going to be blood and . . .I'd have to show you how to do everything and . . ."

Still, the more she thought about it, the more the idea wasn't an unpleasant one.  She could tell him exactly what she needed and where he needed to be.  An image of his violet eyes widening in wonder as . . .

"If you want to," she said firmly, "If you don't, you won't hurt my feelings."
