Costin Andrei

The sound of falling rain deafened the silence of the dead night. Under the bright shine of the moon, Costin stood atop the world; an endless number of stone columns filled the wide space of the area, each of different height as if struggling to reach the heavens.
Yes, this was strange indeed. Costin remembered everything: the ice magician, the swordsman, the explosion...
He had died, yet he now lived, for some reason.

Then he saw him, the man who had single handedly caused his demise. His liberator who freed him from the unending curse that had been forced upon him. He couldn't help but smile with glee. After all, he did have an unfinished score to settle.

However, the Apostle knew this wouldn't be like the last time. No, for one, the moon was now at it's fullest, thus granting him the possibility to give his all without being restricted by the cycles. Not only that, but he wasn't hungry anymore. The insatiable thirst that burdened him and maddened him was no more... he was full.

Now baring his fangs with an immaculately wide grin, he howled.
"We meet once again, magician! Do you remember me?" Asked the vampire, feeling a newfound vigour empowering him.

Grenth

Grenth looked into the sky as the water pinged off his armor and the wet ground around him froze. He looked to the top of the tallest spire and there he saw the abomination calling to him. Not that he could hear him.

Well it seems like he would be able to dispense justice personally after all. He held out a hands as he called a beast to him. It was a Flesh Golem, but many times the size of a normal one.

It would be better to call it a Flesh Colossus.

And with an air shattering roar it swung its axe hand at the pillar, shattering the base completely.

Costin Andrei

The abrupt appearance of the flesh beast surprised the heretic. While the size was impressive by itself, what shocked him the most was how abrupt it's appearance was. He had no time to think, for before he knew it, the giant had swing it's axe, destroying the column Costin stood upon.

"Tsk, you could have said hi at the very least, jackass!", he roared as he leapt from the column before it crumbled. As Costin rose to the skies, he glared at the armoured man.

"...Grenth!" He yelled, now gritting his teeth in what would almost resemble a blood curling smile. Suddenly, twenty razor sharp chains erupted from each of his arms, each spiralling and moving at incredible speed towards the magician with the intention to shred him to pieces...

Grenth

As the pillar crumbled Grenth formed a table and chain made of ice, and placed the bottle of brandy on the table. He then proceeded to make cups and poor himself a drink.

Meanwhile the man fell from the sky, yelling Grenth’s name, swinging chains of blood at the man. But it was shortlived as the Colossus swung its other arm, the chains impacting with the beast body, sending the vampires flying through multiple other pillars. And a second later the wounds on the giant vanished.

Grenth then took a sip of the quality brandy, and let lose a sigh of relief.

Costin's chains wouldn't reach Grenth. The colossal flesh monster swung it's arm with a titan's might, sending Costin and the chains flying across multiple pillars.  His teeth clenching against the shock, he let out a sound resembling grinding gears. However, it was none other than his laughter.

"Yes... this is fun!" He thought as his body crashed against the stone floor, leaving nothing but a crater. Yes, the vampire enjoyed this, the impossible challenge of fighting an opponent miles stronger than he could ever be filled his hearth with unspeakable glee...

His whole body now coloured of a sickly crimson, he touched the ground with the palm of his hands, the floor now erupting in a crimson glow as countless patterns travelled across the distance until surrounding Grenth.

Grenth

The beast roared and charged, crushing multiple other spires at it ran at the man, picking up a giant boulder with its fingered hand, the one it used to send the vampire flying.

But the blood surged along the ground towards Grenth. But it was short lived. The necromancer waved his hand as he took a sip of brandy, and with it a wave of magical energy was sent out. The blood which was moving at such rapid speeds suddenly stopped. It was Grenth’s flesh sculpting, the ability to manipulate blood, sinew, bone… all the things that make the human body what it is.

He them leaned back in his chair more and took out a newspaper and laid it against the table of magical ice. He then took another sip of his drink.

As this occurred the beast continued to change, before attempting to crush the man with the boulder in its hand.

Costin Andrei

"Hah, nice trick there..." snarled the vampire. It seemed even that technique wouldn't work on the magician. In the blink of an eye, blood erupted from Costin's back, forming crimson wings.

Taking flight, he now flew at a tremendous speed towards Grenth, using blood chains to zip around the columns and the broken rubble, swinging around them in order to avoid the flesh colossus.

He was now approaching the old man, barely a few meters separated them both. At that very instant, two halberds formed on each of Costin's hands. Now using his legs and wings, he pushed in order to propel himself towards the magician even faster.

"Are you enjoying your drink sir!?", Costin yelled as he charged with the two blood halberds.

Grenth

The Colossus roared as the man escaped to the air and darted at its master. It began to chase.

Said master put down his drink and newspaper, hearing the roar of his beast, and watched as the man darted though the air and around the pillars. Then, using one of them a jumping board he dived at Grenth.

Then Grenth spoke, “I suppose one play thing isn’t enough for you.” And he tapped his foot, calling another one of his beasts with a pulse of magic.

But no beast appeared as the vampire dived at the necromancer. Then there was an explosion of stone as a giant worm, a remodeled flesh golem, shot out of the ground and swallowed the vampire, before burrowing back into the ground like a jumping dolphin in the sea… just wormier.

Costin Andrei

The battle frenzied vampire took no heed to the flesh beast, now a worm-like monster popping from the ground. Before he had the time to react, he was swallowed by the creature, now sinking once again into the bottom.

"GRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHH!!!" he roared, feeling a monstruous bloodrush, his soul now burning with fierceness as he sank further and further. Wasting no time, he slashed away furiously, hacking relentlessly at the beast from it's very innards. Costin used incredible speed and might to carve the worm from the inside out.

However, the regenerating abomination would heal it's wounds. No, it looked more like the flesh stitched itself back.
"This gets more interesting by the second!" Cutting furiously not unlike a rabid beast, he tore the creature's flesh with his halberds. Wasting no time, he escaped from the torn gap before it stitched itself once more.

He grabbed onto the edge of the underground hole, looking up at the path leading to the surface. The vampire suddenly stopped smiling. In a breath's notice, chains leapt from the apostle's flesh, Costin using them to move at tremendous speeds, now exiting the hole burrowed by the monster.

Bursting from the hole, the crimson bullet now looked at the mage. Grenth drinking calmly, as if detached from the duel itself.
Letting a monstrous roar, Costin writhed midair as numerous thorns erupted from his blood-red body, each aiming for the old magician.

Grenth

As the vampires cut his way out of the worm the colossus continued to charge. Then as the man jumped out of the hole he was body checked by the giant colossus, which kept charging, smashing the man though multiple other pillars in a constant rush.

Meanwhile the thorns stopped in mid air, turned to ice and fell harmlessly to the ground by wave of Grenth's hand.

Costin Andrei

Tossed like a cannonball, the battered vampire flew across the area, crashing violently against a great number of pillars.
The area now completely filled with rubble, all that stood amidst the destruction was Costin's inert body.
His smile had now completely faded, all that stood on his sickly red face was a serious expression, lips unmoving as the vampire's limbs twitched...

Rising from the blown concrete rubble, the vampire held both his arms up, standing in front of the flesh giant. He had answers he wished to get from the magician first.
Yes, something... wasn't right.

Blown away again and again by the colossus's mad charge, the dead apostle's crimson armour slowly crumbled, revealing torn flesh and bone.
But before the mass of flesh crushed his body, the vampire let out a great cry.
His blood-red wings now growing considerably, in a hair's breath, a powerful force slammed Costin Andrei as he looked up at the mighty giant.

"YesyesyesyesyesyesyesyesyesYES!!"

Bones, flesh and innards pounded to dust, the stone area itself shook from the force of the blow. Cracks formed in the very floor that held the pillars in place, a powerful shockwave blew the fighting stage. One by one they all crumbled, dust now clouding everything.
A dead silence under the moonlight, the rain itself had nothing short but stopped in response to this display of might.

But Costin Andrei was not the rain.

In the blink of an eye, countless crimson blade-like profusions popped from the colossus's fist. Shredding the muscle mass with sharp blood-red wings, something moved up the giant's arm.
Suddenly, a burst of crimson erupted from the monster's shoulder. And in the blink of an eye, this indescribable mass flew towards the armoured mage. Mangled flesh and torn limbs dangling ungracefully, all that remained was a true beast.

"GRENTH!!!" Andrei roared, flying towards the magician like a scarlet missile. This time he wouldn't be so careless, he couldn't afford to fool around any longer. Normally he wouldn't have cared if he received a thousand wounds, but it seemed the flesh titan's attack had put the vampire in place. Senses now sharpened to the utmost extremes, the red bullet charged towards Grenth.

Grenth

Grenth felt it before it happened, the buildup of magical energy from a source other than his own. So he decided, he would give the man what he wanted. He would crush the man with his own might.

So Grenth stood and began to chant as his colossus was ripped to shreds. His magical energy collected in his hands

“There is now not a single
leaf on the cherry tree:
except when the jay
plummets in, lights, and,
in pure clarity, squalls:
then every branch
quivers and
breaks out in blue leaves.”

The then a wave of white shimmering dust released at the man, as he dove for Grenth calling his name, “Blossoming Winter.”

The man in his charge hit it, and as soon as the flakes touched something the blossomed. From the fine powder, from each small white crystal, a torrent of black ice was released. The ice stopped all things that were frozen by it in space, as it expanded to form what looked light a brilliant black tree made of crystal.

This was one of Grenth’s original spells, it manipulated ice’s ability to expand when forming, and it amplified the idea of ‘freezing’ locking away all caught within it.

There would be no escape.

Mordred

I fell asleep? Mordred was not in the place she was before, and the surroundings around were too non-descript to be part of reality. Clearly she had difficult night so she dosed off. And given she was unwounded, with her spear at her side and without depleted reserves of energy it could be nothing more than fantasy. "Heh, I wonder what kind of dream I'll have this time" she wondered, eyeing the surroundings for any unexpected development.

Crest

Crest was lost. Well, it was not the first time. He looked around the woods, desperately trying to find some defining feature other than the sea of trees. He sighed as he walked, making sure to make a little noise as possible. He then heard a noise, the sound of someone getting up, prompting him to hide.

Rejection of Sound

He climbed a tree and saw the armored person. Armor that reminded him of the damn Saint’s guard, it was a pity, she had a nice face after all. So he did the only thing he could do, he cocked an arrow as he stood on a branch and took aim. And then he let it lose, the arrow streaking towards her unguarded head.
