Grenth

Grenth gazed at his opponent, his energy focusing and building.

And so when the first spell was launched he responded immediately. The moment the man spoke Grenth did two things. First he raised his hand, forming a plain of ice that blocked the bolt.

And then he stomped his foot, releasing magical energy and calling his beasts to him. And so a horde of lesser minions began to populate the plain, appearing one by one.

Wiseman

Brown eyes narrowed at the plane of ice that defended the necromancer. But he soon had other concerns. The creatures that his opponent had summoned were plentiful, and he had no doubt they were dangerous. The hand that had fired the bolt of lightning was held out again as balls of fire began to materialize around the warlock and launched themselves at the beasts. Then his hand clenched into a fist.

"Prominence."

The temperature around the necromancer increased drastically as elemental energy began to gather around him and fire began to spring to life. His opponent would only have a moment before it all coalesced into an enormous flaming lion bent on devouring him.

An automatic detection system built into it too? No matter.

Adjutor stops a bit of a distance from wall of blades, thrust the rapier forwards as he shouts, "Pierce!"

With that, the Rapier rapidly extends forwards, crossing the remaining distance with a fair bit to spare in a bit less than a second.

Grenth

As the opponent’s spell formed his Bone Fields and Blood Fiends launched their assault, blood bolts and needles flying at the magician.  Until the minions were consumed in flames, reduced to nothing but ash in but a moment

Meanwhile Grenth’s hands were raised to the side, his palms facing the ground. “Oh freeze before my judgment, Chillbane.” And his ice attribute curse magic flooded the air around him.

His magical energy froze all energy. There could be no combustion while he maintained this curse. And that was all he needed as the enemy spell dispersed.

He then thrust his hands forward, and the ice shield shattered, forming spikes that were launched at his opponent.

Wiseman

As soon as the projectiles flew from the beasts Wiseman uttered his counter.

"Dream Blade"

Hundreds of exquisite swords tinged with the color of green materialized before him and formed a wall. The projectiles bounced off the blades, and when his spell had failed and the defense of his enemy changed to an offense he responded in kind.

The blades turned from their defensive position and flew at the necromancer. Several of the phantasmal blades shattered against the spikes of ice but the bulk of them still charged at full speed toward the armored man.

He could feel it from behind the shield, his foe had begun some sort of attack, even with the wire-thin blades chasing after him.

Bracing for the impact the silver shield that floated before him rippled as the attack hit but the shield held.

"Is this really the best you can do? You will need to be far stronger to even pierces this thin layer."

The wires continued their trajectory stretching out in both directions his foe was still trapped between them and his attack had failed. His situation was getting worse by the second.

Grenth

The blades moved in on Grenth, and in response Grenth spoke, “Come” And with that word flesh shaped around him, and a trio of flesh golems protected their master. The blades cut into them but the wounds immediately closed, no lasting harm being done.

Then two of the golems charged the opponent, while one stood at his master side as he began to focus is magic.

...Fuck. That didn't work.

And the wires were already closing in.

Shit shit shit.

With a thought, Adjutor's hands were coated in a thick layer of the black metal stored in those tattoos. Dropping Valmanway and Rahab, he reaches for the nearest pair of wires, he pushed them apart with his hands, along with all the nearby strands, and jumps through the hole before dashing away for the cover of the nearest cluster of pillars.

Okay. Re-evaluate the situation.

We've gotten rather sloppy.

I know that.

Taking a moment to collect himself, Adjutor takes the time to prepare another Shield Concept as he moves further into the pillars.

Wiseman

The warlock narrowed his eyes at the charging beasts. If cutting into them would do nothing and fire would continue to be unusable then he would slash them into so many pieces they wouldn't be able to come back together.

"Whispering Winds."

A swarm of delicate white butterflies came into existence in front of Wiseman and flew towards the minions. The first half of the swarm burst into impossibly sharp blades when it collided with the two minions and the razor sharp winds reduced the creatures into countless chunks of flesh.

As the rest of the butterflies continued towards the necromancer Wiseman considered his options and began to take o the air. Most of the creature's seemed to be bound to the earth so while he may have to deal with projectiles at least they couldn't attack him directly.

Grenth

The flesh that was once the golems began to shake as they reformed into one. Meanwhile Grenth saw his opponent was taking to the air and acted.

He raised his hands high and spoke, “Biting wind, turn the sky to ice and call.” His magical energy pulsed and reached the high. “Razor Hail.”

High above them the clouds shifted, the water that made them up condensing and freezing, forming countless spears. And then he waved his hands downward and they fell.

And his spell he was preparing continued to form in his mind, not yet ready to be used.

"Not dead yet?"

Sensing the change in his foes tactics as the attacks ceased, the shield disappitated before Kayneth and he saw his foe run beneath the cover of the pillars.

"Run all you want, in the end you will fall."

The silver liquid that had once outstretched itself quickly returned into its thin line before thickening further as the V shape combined into one. All of this happened in less than a second, as the newly formed strand shot forth into both sides of the wall trapping Kayneth's foe between the pillars and the approaching lines.

With Kayneth further taking the offense he advanced until he stood face to face with the pillars.

"What will you do now?"

Holding a single hand outwards Kayneth's hand began to surge with magical energy as he silently began to charge a spell.

"Scalp... Praeliabitur!"

The thin strand of mercury that held together at the center quickly moved forward using a layer less a millimeter thick to cut the pillars near the base.

This was quickly followed by a small blast of wind from Kayneth's outstretched hand. Normally such a weak blast would do nothing but with the pillars loosened from their base they began to topple inwards directly where his foe dared to hide.

Adjutor's rest time is cut short, to put it simply, by the sounds of stone grinding against stone. Looking around the pillar he's hiding behind, he's met with the sight of the first row of pillars in his general area being toppled over onto the next.

Oh, what the fuck? Isn't he supposed to be studying these ruins?

Does it matter at this point?

With three rows of pillars between Adjutor and the currently falling row, it's fairly obvious he'll need to act quickly.

Adjutor draws Laivatain and stabs it down in the ground, the blade soon blazing to life, casting shadows in all directions amongst the pillars, between his row and the row ahead of him before running forward one row and Reinforcing the nearest pillar, followed by the ones on either side, before making his way back behind previous hiding spot, slipping into the new shadows before starting to make his way over to what he figures to be the other side of the room...

Crest

He watched as the woman sidestepped the falling tree and looked for him. He fiddled with his knife, tying some wire to the end of it.

Then she did the last thing Crest expected. She touched a tree with her palm and then she set the forest ablaze.

"You have got to be kidding me" he thought as he began to retreat. Slightly, putting distance between him and the flames. However there was one benefit. He released the rejection of sound; the roar of the fire would drown out any sound he made. He stuffed the knife back into his holder and drew his bow again.

Then he cocked another arrow, and the arrow turned black.

Rejection of Matter!

And the arrow flew at the woman who stood within the blaze, immediately turning around and running, fleeing from the flames. Attempting to lead her to a more fitting terrain.

"15 arrows to go..." He muttered in his run. Drawing his machete and leaving left slash marks in the passing wood wood, leaving a fairly easy trail to track.

It would not be any good to lose his pray after all.

Mordred had bad premonition about that arrow, attuned as she was to the supernatural she could not help but feel something ominous in how it avoided being burned in the blazing inferno. "!" She jumped out of the way of the arrow, forced to move how her enemy intended her to.

Crest

Crest turned his head and saw his opponent dodge is arrow, with a frown he continued moving to the river he could hear ahead of him hoping to get away from the blaze.

Wiseman

The sorcerer called out again to counter this new attack.

"Dream Blade."

The familiar phantasmal blades materialized once more and overran the spikes of ice, but this time the blades simply fizzled out of existence. There was no point in wasting energy with another fruitless attack. The warlock instead called upon a different element.

"Heaven's Pillar."

The heavens were sundered and wrenched open to reveal a midnight world beyond this reality. Then three pillars made of a material alien to this land shot from the portal like missiles. The first was impossibly heavy and could easily puncture solid steel like paper, the second was twice as heavy as it, and the third was twice as heavy as the second.
