Nanako
Nanako's gaze narrowed as the mist solidified into floating blades and a set of gauntlets and greaves, her guard coming up properly as she started grinding her heel into the ground, shattered dirt slowly rising from the spot to join the debris already floating in the sky. Even with the heady warmth filling her from the scorn and the thought of what he could do to her with all that, some frustration crept in with what he said. It was like hearing an inside joke without being privy to it, knowing only that there was something important she was missing.
"You'd be right, I don't know," she shot back, tensing up her legs and clenching her fists as the blades went still.
Then everything exploded, the air around the blades screaming as they fired off with gunshot cracks, Orcus's own advance marked with shattered earth and slowly rising clouds, and Nanako taking off with a sound like artillery fire, leaving sluggish sound and slower dust clouds behind, leaving fissures in the ground with each step. The squirrel girl zipped in at full speed, eyes darting from one blade to another as she dodged and weaved through them, flushing with excitement as the blades danced by, close enough that the rent air caressed her skin.
To the slower ones in the crowd, it might seem like both Nanako and the blades had vanished, and to the untrained eye it would look like she'd simply run right through the blades, and was running right into Orcus's lunging strike.
Her guard was still up as she drew near, the squirrel girl cocked back an arm as if she was going for a high strike, only to slide forward on her last step. Her soles screeched against the dead earth as she dropped so low that her knee was practically scraping the ground, all but vanishing from his immediate sight-line, Nanako using her tail as a counterweight to stay perfectly balanced despite the wild maneuver. In that same moment, she re-chambered her fist and launched upwards into a powerful uppercut into his unarmored abs, rocketing up from below with a shout.
