yinsukin:
Scott

His chest was big enough that when she poked it, the muscle resisted her poke for a moment before allowing her finger to sink into it.  "Whatever," he said, lowering his eyes at her comment.  "That was a brand new fucking car! The girl who demanded answers and told me I need a new car wants to call me an asshole!?  Sorry for being a little stingy when every new person I meet could be gunning for my life! Your lucky I gave you the time of day!"

A sigh escaped his lips.

"Look, i'll give you money if you want that instead, but I can't imagine you are too happy being stuck here without any friends or family.  Being my body guard will give you something to do at least."

Elf:
Forest

Forest smirked, but it didn't reach her eyes.  She said, "I called you a wanker, not an asshole.  However, I don't want to take a job without knowing what exactly I'm getting into."

She tilted her head and asked, "Why do these people want to kill you anyway?  Honestly, being your bodyguard would be easier if I know why these blokes want you dead."

yinsukin:
Scott

"Sure whatever.  Those words are the same to me."

For a breif moment, Scott couldn't meet her eyes, looking away before steeling himself and returning to her gaze.  With a deep breath, the arms folded dropped to his sides.  "You know, normally when hiring bodyguards we don't tell them what we do, just that our enemy is strong and we need protection," he said, shrugging.  "But considering I would be dead or wounded otherwise, I guess I can tell you."

He gazed at the corpses lying in the parking lot.  "I am a spy, a spy that got in a little over his head this time...."

Elf:
Forest

Let's see if you're telling me the truth or just telling me something that you'd think I'd want to hear, Forest thought as she began to probe Scott's thoughts.

She blinked at his shields; they were actually fairly well built.  Someone had taught him what to do in case someone did what she was currently doing.  However, they probably won't expecting someone with my kind of juice, Forest thought as she blunt forced her way through the outside shields.

Well bugger me, he's telling the truth, she thought as she studied him.

She tilted her head and said, "If you're a spy, then I'm not exactly covert.  In case you didn't notice, I sort of stand out.  I may make a poor body guard for a spy."

yinsukin:
Scott

"Like I care," he said, waving his hands back and forth.  "They already know who I am.  Besides, your trained in martial arts right?  I am sure you can adapt to be more subtle if the situation calls for it.  If not, I can train you as we go.  At this point, I just want a deterrent.  Why do you think I am not hiding the bodies?"

He gave the men a look over once more, then returned to her gaze.  His face grew cold, a frown forming, his eyes losing all light.  "There is one thing you should be prepared for if you want this job.  You will have to take the lives of any assassins that come our way, just as I did.  We have to keep the enemy on their toes."
