Elf:
Forest

The blonde got herself situated in the driver's seat and turned the engine on.  "I hate being tall too," she said in a small voice.

She then answered, "Well, apparently I was supposed to be a bodyguard at first, but I got to talk to Duke Taro.  And because apparently I'm not a bloody idiot when it comes to psychopaths, he hired me.  So I guess I'm firmly in the Double-0 Category now."

Forest sighed and said, "I bloody hate all this cloak and dagger bullshite."

yinsukin:
Ryan

Ryan's mouth opened, a yawn coming out.  "Yeah I don't think anyone who takes this job does..." he said, thinking back to his first time.  He actually started as a bodyguard as well.  But his talents were more suited for killing, so he took on that burden.  "Don't worry.  If we do well enough, we will all be free from this life.  It sounds like your doing great."

Once again, the man yawned, placing a hand over his mouth.  "So which one do you like more, the duke or us?"

Elf:
Forest

"Yeah, it sounds like I'm doing a bang up job," Forest said with a sigh and a shake of her head.

I'm worlds away from home, now thrown in the middle of some goddamn Cold War, and part of this spy agency who's filled with admittedly attractive men, with this guy being bloody hot . . . And maybe a nice guy, jury's out on that one yet, she thought before rubbing her forehead.

The middle of hero forehead ached slightly.  She wasn't sure if it was just a physic stress headache, honestly, she hadn't done too much in that department.  Everyone around here was fairly easy to read or broadcasting on Clear Chanel Radio.

She bit her lip and answered, "The Duke is . . . like an insane child who just happens to be sitting on the equivalent of Chernobyl and he's got the button to make it explode.  Scott's a bit of a dramatic arse, but Jarald seemed nice enough.  And then there's you, Mr. Bloodbender, who's vocalized most of the stuff I've been feeling of late even before I stumbled here."

yinsukin:
Ryan

Ryan tilted his head to the side and said, "So he is just as insane as I heard.  Good thing he's not the 'kill for breathing wrong' type," he said, his eyelids fluttering downward, ready to close on him.  "But yeah, thats why he is a problem.  We need to figure out how to deal with him.  A personality like that shouldn't be in power."

No that wasn't right.  He finally realized he was rambling.  These weren't calculated questions, just the honest consciousness of a man that had a long day.

He paused, curling up as he layed down in the back seat.  His legs poked the back of her chair, his back arching as he closed his eyes.  "Not that it matters.  All I care about is keeping everyone safe...."

Elf:
Forest

"I wouldn't say he's quite Joffery, but he's not too far from it," Forest said with a sigh and a shake of her head.  "And no, someone like that shouldn't be in power."

She blinked as she felt his legs poke her through the back of the seat.

"Not that it matters.  All I care about is keeping everyone safe...."

She felt her chest tighten at that and she sighed.  It sounded almost as exhausted as Ryan felt.  Forest's fingers flexed and gripped the steering wheel.

"Thing is, no one can keep everyone safe.  You just do the best you can, slay the monster, and fight against the machine," Forest said in a soft voice.
