Duke Taro
The man bit his lip, his eyes facing the ceiling. His heart sank deep into the pits of shame, his mind racing to find an answer. He considered striking her the moment she went in for another blow, but that wouldn't work if she could read his mind. She was stronger, faster, and could read his mind. He could see why the duke would hire her as a bodyguard. Still he couldn't just quit now damn it. The duke didn't deserve to be the one in charge, HE did. HIM. He deserved to be Valarie's number 2.
The entire time, the Duke stood with his arms folded, that creepy grin stretched to the absolute limits. He eyed the man, seeing that petulant defiance still buried in his pupils. "You know every day I try to enjoy the joys of the modern world," he said letting them fall to his side. "I go on walks, I play video games, explore modern methods of birth control, even guns. Its hard for modern-day humans to see it, but the world has gotten kinder, if a bit more lonely."
He adjusted his collar, brushing off whatever the stupid man had breathed on him. "Progress is how we keep ourselves from being hunted down. Why try to take over the world when we can create our own world within the human one? As long as we are strong they don't mess with us after all. But you know, when I see someone like you, a pathetic weakling clinging to the strength-based vampire lord ways of the past, I feel this urge to return to the barbaric times I grew up in."
"While i'm annoyed at his stupidity, I think mu valued employee deserves to decide his punishment. Assuming my dear guard is just some 'dumb bitch?' Calling my valued employe a 'dumb bitch?' If I were her i'd rip your spine right out of your back and show it to your master as a sign of your weakness." Finally, he turned to Forest, his voice taking on a strangely soft tone. "Personally, i'd love to see him beaten up a bit more, shown what a complete waste of space he is, but its up to you. He has no future in this district after pulling a stunt like this. I know I mentioned placing people on the wall as a trophy, but this guy isn't worth that much. Its best just to kill him and be done with it."
Kill? he thought, turning to Forest. Despite to break free, the man flailed his arms about, balling them into a fist and attempting to strike Forest in the legs. Anything he could do to break free. You stupid... You can't!
"Either way, our next appointment is not for a little bit. I'm sure your pretty stressed since you came here, so you at least have a punching bag...."
