Sakagami Kenzo
Kenzo moped as he walked to the broom closet, brooding like a poor puppy as he picked up the broom. All the food, all the work, all the effort, all for nothing. He didn’t even notice the rotting food scrambling around.
Looking more defeated than ever, he took a deep breath and prepared himself for a looong clean up session. Usually, he wouldn’t have minded. But right now, it was not only a chore to him but a reminder.
A reminder that he always messed the most important parts. It was his fault that the plates broke after all, his fault that all this wonderful food was now ruined. He really was a good for nothing, but it didn’t mean he didn’t try. Still, after a day like this, even the most cheerful spirit would feel down.
Why? Why didn’t they understand? All this work he put into this feast that was meant for everyone, it wasn’t something that could be easily replaced. Even if they got food to replace it, it wouldn’t be the same! And what the hell was a pizza?
Lost in his thoughts, he finally snapped back to his senses when he heard a familiar voice calling him. Turning around, he saw Akatsuki running to him, carrying a plate filled with his secret recipe super salad (actually a normal Caesar salad, but he doesn’t know it). All sorts of emotions filled him.
She understood.
She caught him, she saved him. His baby. That girl uncovered the one survivor of this culinary holocaust for his sake. The salad he worked so hard to prepare… Trembling with emotions, he walked up to the girl and patted her head, barely holding back tears.
“Thank you.” He muttered with a serene voice, smiling thankfully from the depths of his heart. And so, he decided that from that day forward, that girl, that destroyer would be his kitchen assistant!
Vanguard
This city was quite the oddity, he had to admit. A melting pot of stories, merging into one. And it was growing, feeding constantly. Because of that, the land was quite rich and bountiful in magical energy. That was favorable, he would have it no other way. After all, this was the Valhalla he chose, the one place in existence where his scheme could work. But time was of the essence, altough it was plentiful. He too needed to lay the groundwork.
Incredible...
For a while now, he had been walking aimlessly around the city, searching trough this plane for sources of magical energy, vessels he could tap into. Plunging his hand into the land, he had found yet another convergence into the leylines. But it was still small, far too small. He needed power, more power. Without it, he would not be able to reach her.
Those leylines, they seemed to be leading somewhere, somewhere larger.
Vanguard kept on searching until he stumbled upon a forest. Feeling adventurous, he decided there would be no harm in exploring. Even if the leylines were not any greater than earlier, perhaps he could settle for a place to gather aether eventually. Either way, he walked forward for a while until he found himself before a girl resting against a tree.
Girl? Nay. Vanguard was not quite certain of it, but she had a different quality that set her apart from the common mundane. Her refined face and beautiful cloth gave her a sublime splendour that was a rare sight, even for him. Truth be told, her features were not unpleasant to look at. If this was a painting, he would compliment on the contrast she set to the lavishly green and white backdrop.
And who knows? Perhaps befriending her could be of benefit.
“My, fate is quite the fickle one to make me stumble on a beauty such as yourself. Good grief, would a woman like you happen to be lost?” He said, his deep voice echoing and lingering in the forest like a phantom clinging to the earth.
