Rider
Rider couldn't help but notice the hint of annoyance on Tony's face when she ordered her pizza. Apparently, something in her order really put him off. Was it the olives? Did he really not like olives? Rider knew she'd have to address it later. Right now, though, she was too focussed on the girl who looked like Sakura. Even if she wasn't Sakura, she was still somewhat similar, and that was enough for Rider to at least want to get to know her. As such, she felt a little saddened when the girl responded to her with annoyance, clearly upset at her referring to the two animals as "pets".
"Oh, I see", Rider said, clearly upset that she'd hurt the girl's feelings. "Sorry, I didn't realise that they were intelligent. I understand that it can be annoying when people make that mistake."
She fully understood the girl's feelings. After all, she knew plenty of creatures that were perfectly intelligent, but were nevertheless treated like unintelligent monsters just because of how they looked. In fact, her own son was a horse, so she knew what it was like to have close relationships to those who did not look human.
"Well, can I stroke your friends, then?" she continued, wanting to interact with the creatures and get to know the girl better.
As she spoke, though, something else was niggling at her mind.
Wormy? That's an odd name, she thought.
It was an odd enough name as it was, particularly given that neither creature looked like a worm. The fact that the girl looked like Sakura only made it even more weird. After all, her Sakura had a strong connection to worms as well, albeit in a very different manner.
"Wait, which one is Wormy? Neither of them look very worm-like", she asked, genuinely curious, the whole situation very confusing to her.
How was it that this girl was so much like Sakura, yet not her?
