Tohuw Balagan
The demon kept flying, gritting its teeth as the pain awakened, litterally burning him from the inside. He endured, flapping its wings as hard as he ould. He barely had the strenght left to move, let alone think straight. Suddenly, his eyes widened, almost as if bulging, and a splash of black liquid burst from his mouth. He tried to keep it in, to keep himself alive, but even he couldn't go that far.
Fatigue and pain took over, and his body stopped responding. Falling, he managed to look at the clear sky one last time before closing his eyes. Damn, it's not like he'd be gone even if he died from this, but dying would be a pain. He hated that, dying that is. He hated dying, because he had to meet somene he hated.
And so, the demon took a final breath, and everything faded away.
"Aww, did the wlittle baby lose agwayn?" A female voice asked. Beautiful, with a nearly sensual albeit mocking hint.
The demon cursed, the same old story again. Opening his tired, uncaring eyes, he did not even show the slightest bit of surprize at the fact he was now sitting on a hill of thorns and roses.
The sky was red, but the moon above indicated it was still night. That damned, eternal night. And standing at the peak of said hill was a beautiful girl. Or rather, an unmakeable silouhette. She had no features that were describable, everything about that girl was unnatural, impossible to comprehend.
The pallid white moon simply shone above her and reflected its light.
"Fuck off." He responded, his face one of someone who simply did not care anymore. Tired black eyes were rubbed tiresomely before the man combed his short dark brown hair back.
Altough it was impossible to see, he knew that that girl smiled.
"I think someone's angwy. Do you want me to tell his mommy for you?"
"..."
"Isn't that cute. You think you're better than me. Now, who wants a huggo?"
The demon simply clicked his tongue in annoyance and rose from his bed of thorns, countless wounds bleeding out of the man.
"That's it. I'm leaving." He said with an utter lack of amusement or emotion.
"Would you like me to pack you a sandwitch for the trip?"
Tohuw, or rather the man who called himself as such, smiled. Rubbing his chin, he smiled slyly despite being covered by wounds. Well, it’s not like it mattered what he’d answer anyway. Either way, his fate was sealed, and she could read him like an open book.
Jeez, girls can be so cruel.
"Yes actually."
The girl smiled ferociously before leaping from the top of the hill, an explosion of power drawing her closer to the demon. A massive screw appeared in his hand, which he thrust at her chest, but it began to rot as quickly and-
Surrounded by a desolate wasteland, shattered thorn vines scattered all over, the lone girl looked down at the miserable bloody mess with a disappointed look.
"3,402,193,822,311 tries and you still never learn. You really are hopeless, Tohuw Balagan. And look, you got your suit all dirty again. Although I guess red suits you much better."
The creature, the reddened man shaped flesh scattered and broken twitched before it turned back into its usual black tint. And then, a moon white smile spread across its face. And it spoke, both cheerful and bitter, melancholic defeat and joyful whimsy at once.
"Heh, at this point I wonder why I even try."
It was not visible, but he knew he had just said something he shouldn’t. He knew because the girl so mercilessly shattered his leg. Well, shattered was a wrong term. More like tore away with sheer force. Man, he should’ve learned by now what happened when he pressed her buttons. If only he could see that frown on her face. Still, the girl acknowledged his dedication and spoke calmly.
"Don't worry. You will see my true self again once you fulfill your promise. For now, I will allow you to kiss me once.”
" …”
"That's not true at all. With your No Fiction, God Hand and Rule Breaker against my original eye, Pandora, you might have a chance.”
A mirth laugh escaped the demon’s lips. This was just like back then, although the buddy he remembered was so much gentler.
“You may be right, Fake Buddy.”
The girl laughed in turn and responded.
“See yah, it was fun.”
And the whole world turned to fire again.
The demon opened his eyes weakly and looked up to the armour that was now carrying him. A pungent, coppery taste still lingered in his mouth, putrid and foul. Struggling for a moment, he spoke weakly.
“Stupid doll, you made me look bad.”
The armour simply kept walking carrying the demon, who rested tiredly in its arms. Then, the two arrived at the castle’s gates. Trembling for a bit, the demon smiled before speaking seriously.
“Good. I can stand.”
Nodding once, the armour immediately melted and entered inside the demon, turning into bones that would help him move with more ease. Sweating, the demon retook his first appearance, the one he normally used. Letting the wind flow through his brown hair, he opened the castle doors and walked inside quietly.
Without drawing attention to himself, he limped as discreetly as he could through the halls and arrived in a room. Smiling, he closed his eyes and let himself fall on the bed, right between the couple. Without even realizing it, he hugged Sakura and rested, falling asleep for a while.
