Vanguard
Vanguard blinked in surprise. "I was just asking if you'd tag along." He scratched the back of his head, pondering on what to do for a moment. Finally, something clicked.
He reached for his pocket and pulled out a telephone, pressed a few buttons and touch combinations, and suddenly four magic circles appeared on the floor around him. He hadn't really done anything, this was a sorcery beyond him. Sometimes, having useful friends helps. It was also good to send that useful friend of his a notification, to inform him of his little discovery.
A few dozen men clad in white cloth and masks suddenly appeared around him carrying four great toolboxes. All it took were a few seconds to change their soul's 'code' to have them mobilize and automatically perform their due tasks.
He glanced back at his other 'friend' and smiled.
"But you know, there are plenty of interesting actors just waiting to be uncovered. It's not a matter of patience or laziness, you could just stand in one spot of this nexus and surely you'd find something intriguing passing by eventually."
This should do it, really. At the very least, they should be able to make use of this rubble and rebuild a semblance of a base in a few hours. Some took care of moving the rubble away, while others dragged the bodies and began to bury them. Others mobilized and took the weapons he had stashed around, or used guns of their own in order to arm themselves like automatons, using what little terrain remained in order to scout and keep outsiders at bay.
They were weak and fragile, barely fitting for more than grunt work, menial tasks he did not care to entertain himself with. It wasn't much, but until his partner finished his little errand, it should be enough.
"Let's go. Time is of the essence, is it not?" He said jovially before stepping forward, walking back to her.
"So, do you have a boyfriend?" He asked her bluntly with a smile, messing her hair up a little.
