Forest of the Past
The ancient Scot shrugged and answered, "I wouldn't say psychic monster per say. There are people who are immune to probes or don't broadcast. It's kind of rare, but it does happen. It could just be some bloke. Or it could be some scary thing as well."
She frowned, wishing that she had brought her magnum, but she had the pistol she confiscated.
I have a bad feeling I might be under prepared for this.
Rin
Rin felt her cheeks heat up as Joe looked her over. She took pride over her form, but some guys felt threatened by girls who were as athletic as she was. One magus she had dated had been; the stuffy wanker had even suggested that she should "calm down".
She only went on one date with him.
She then laughed at his comment and answered, "Well, I'm training at 'life' I guess. A magi's body is one of her greatest assets. Not only are there times where I'd need to defend myself, a lot of magecraft is physically taxing and potentially dangerous as well. As for bubble tea . . ."
The flush on her cheeks darkened as she looked down at her hands and shook her head. "I didn't want to appear childish."

The vampire studied her two guests. Anastasia was trying to be polite, if forcefully so, the peck blond however had a manic gleam in his eye. He seemed leery of the savory pie, which made Forest wonder what was in it.
Considering the Nexus it could be rat, Forest thought with a tilt of her head.
She wondered if it had garlic in it. Considering what she'd learned watching Food Network, it was pretty likely that it did. Garlic was an annoyance to her, even if it was ingested, but she really didn't want to deal with that unpleasantness.
"What's in it?" Forest asked with a tilt of her head, "I have to be careful about what I eat."
