Leo I
As if taunting his resolution, a bright light radiating from that devil woman filled the dawn, eclipsing even the sun with its brilliance. It was strange that something so corrupted could make something so brilliant, but he found himself none the less captivated, even in the heat of the moment. Yet, it did not diminish the threat of that demon man. In fact, the surreal experience only made the man now coated in lightning all the more terrifying. In that moment, the man felt like a true archangel, one conjured by the devil himself.
Leo's dagger cried in a hallow chime as the lightning blade came down, striking the blade held over the pope's head. The concrete below him shattered as he sunk into the earth and lightning coated both of their bodies. The priest could help but grimace with pain as his body continued to slowly sink, pushing up the surrounding concrete around him. He was stuck, pushed down by the man's overwhelming strength. However, even as he was overwhelmed, his body stayed strong. It was as if his physical body was constructed from his very will.
It wasn't just faith anymore that kept him going, but purpose. That light, so brilliant in its construction was the ultimate mockery of god's radiant will. The only thing stopping him from tearing it to pieces was the man before him. The only obstacle keeping him from eradicating the evil of this world was one man. The grimace grew even more intense and as the brightness of the light climaxed, a single cry echoed through the sky,
"I SHALL NOT FALL!"
He lowered his stance a bit, just enough to be able to take the pressure. With his body better able to take the hits, he transitioned into a low kick that would strike the pillar and disrupt the man's balance. It might not do much, but any sort of reaction could help him escape.
