The abomination turned to look at the blonde man and was thoroughly unimpressed. Throwing around threats was both unpleasant and irritating as far as she was concerned. Part of her considered leaving and just cutting her losses but decided to linger a bit. "Hey. What do you think you're doing? Jumping into a conversation and tossing around threats isn't really appreciated. If you're so concerned then you can go over and guard the kid yourself."

The Old God ignored the other girl for a moment as Mordred fell out of her chair. She took careful note of the Changeling's expression before a wave of her hand crafted a glyph under the prone blonde. It kept her carefully suspended on the air so that she wouldn't fall again. Only after making sure of its comfort did she turn back to face Emily.

"It wasn't a terrible scuffle. Mordred made little progress against a mage and ran into a wall he conjured. She landed a blow with her spear and I repaired her ribs." The mage's tone was Cleary dismissive. She thought very little of the issue and gave it less attention than one would a fly.

There was a moment where the divine being felt relatively awkward simply standing around like this. It simply seemed rather odd and made them look rather suspicious. Didn't people usually talk in their homes or in a cafe or something? Was loitering around even normal here? The issue wasn't very pressing but it did bother her a bit like an itch you just couldn't reach. Instead of focusing on it she responded to the man. "Well, right now I don't do much of anything since I've only come here rather recently. No idea about the teen. Only met her recently."

Lumen did take care not to mention the girl's name. If she didn't want to tell Gabriel her name than the Patchwork wouldn't do it either. Names had power, and giving them freely was just asking for trouble. If Oka decided to give a false name or simply say nothing at all she wouldn't mind.

A tan hand messed with the woman's midnight strands of hair as she gently massaged her head. Why couldn't they have just gotten along? It would have made everything so much easier and so much more worthwhile. She looked back down at the smaller girl before responding. "Right. Just don't simmer too much and I'll do what I need to."

Then she turned back to face the man without a hint of worry or discomfort in her features. "So what do you do for a living? I generally worked as a supplier of necessary goods for my town but I am interested in what you've done."

This was going to be a perfectly normal conversation and they were all going to have a perfectly normal trip to the mall and buy perfectly normal clothes. No need to make things anymore complex or strange than they already are.

The spirit leaned in almost conspiratorially and whispered, "There are really Bad people I see. They don't think anyone is looking so they do Bad things to the other kids. Then I have to punish them."

In strict contrast to his normal behavior the spirit was quite serious. His ever present smile had faded and if he had eyeballs they would certainly have a serious look to them. But then he pulled back and suddenly beamed again. "So that's why I need all your help! To make sure they're all safe and the bad guys get punished."

"That is rather impressive, Emily." The note of praise in her voice had just enough earnestness to seem true and honest. She examined her own cleaned hand for a moment to make sure there was no damage before smiling. It was a look that could latch onto the focus of entire crowds with its radiance.

A lithe hand rested on the other girl's cheek and the gesture was as inviting as temptation incarnate but lasted only a moment before it was withdrawn. "You are quite beautiful and your ability in healing is of interest. In another world you may have been one of my priestesses. Such a shame. Regardless, I suppose we should wait for Mordred to wake up?"

"Well then, I might as well kill two birds with one stone. I would like to see your healing in action and for all her hard work I'm sure that Mordred deserves a reward of sorts. Perhaps a pleasant dream? Don't worry at all. Even if you cannot heal it I will be able to." With a practiced motion she took a kitchen knife and with the slightest hint of frost honing its edge she sliced her hand. The blood flowed, floated, and was expended as she exerted influence over the Changeling's sleeping mind. A heady mixture of lust and desire pooling into the dreams along with her own image and experience.

All of that was done in an instant. The powerless blood splashed into the sink and the slightest hint of ice on the edge of the knife vanished as the Old God held out the wounded hand towards Emily. "I would appreciate seeing your work in action. It would be most enlightening to see how others perform their healing."

The beauty nodded slightly but there was a note of approval in her features as they worked. "It is always beneficial to have multiple fields of study. However, I am curious to what exactly you mean about magical feeling. I dabble a bit myself and was capable of repairing Mordred's ribs after her fight today and ease her head pain, but I am interested in the methods you use."

The Patchwork shook her head at the shorter girl's question. She had not been here nearly long enough to figure out where much of anything was. While it wouldn't take too long in theory to find a mall or some other shop she didn't feel like wasting time and the fact that yhe girl was trying to simply ignore the man was an issue. She would need allies or even someone with enough sympathy for kids and making herself known was necessary. If she wouldn't do it Lumen would simply do so for her. The fact that they might make a mutual 'friend' would be useful too. He might even prove likeable.

Piercing grey eyes turned to lock on the man's own. Despite the fact that their analytical look could be quite intimidating her voice and looks were very casual. "Yeah, I'd expect that after freezing for a bit she would be eager to get into clothes, but we do have a small problem. I don't suppose that you would be willing to lead us around? You seem to have an idea of where you're going and we really could use the help. As long as you're up to it anyways. And I suppose while I'm at it I should introduce myself. My name's Lumen."

Ghost Child

The small child popped out of the ground and stared long and hard at the fairy before nodding sagely to himself several times. Then he excitedly began to bounce up and down. "Yeah! You can help me with those, but we need more! Then we can play and eat and cook and punish people!"

After the question was made the beauty hummed for a bit as she thought about the question. The sound easily drowned out even the sounds of the work right before them with its haunting melody, but it ultimately ended as she decided on an answer. "I suppose you could consider me a religious authority? As the Architect and Maiden of Beauty I was his high priestess. While there was an emperor, or rather an archon, and a senate it was I and six others who held true power over the empire."

While no less beautiful there was a hard edge to the Old God's voice which quickly vanished. "Hopefully there won't be a fight over succession. It would be displeasing if my chosen successor had to have the floors of the temple cleaned after crushing any upstarts. But regardless at the moment I see no reason to attempt to spread the faith. However, I am rather curious of how you heal. Are you a normal physician? A mage? Perhaps something else?"

The mage layered a few sensuous kisses on the Changeling's neck and then broke off to join Emily. There seemed to be no end to her talents as she seamlessly blended into the kitchen and began work with a sense of grace that made the greatest noble courts seem barbaric. Two people at the same time made the work pitiably easy and in her boredom the Old God began to chat.

"So what is it that you do, Emily? I must admit that I haven't heard too much about you and I am curious." It was almost terrifying how alluring the woman was even in this average setting. Her voice was rich enough to make gold seem dull and lingered in the mind as her every movement made promises that could incite desire in men and women alike.

The small ghost floated backwards and slowly sunk into the ground until only his torso was left visible. He tilted his eyeless head back and yawned a bit before talking. "I can't eat. The food just falls right out of me. But I can eat if you help me. You're like me! You just need to share some power with me."

He popped out of the ground like a groundhog and held out a phantasmal hand. "Pleeeeeaaaaaasssssseeeeeeee."

Despite the cold Lumen's red arm was still quite warm when it pat the younger girl on the head for a bit. She took notice of a guy literally popping out of the shadows but ignored him. Attractive or not someone looking like that and popping out of pretty much nothing of substance was not something she wanted to get involved in. "Right. Probably isn't comfortable wearing something a few sizes bigger than you. Well, I suppose we just try and follow the more wealthy parts of the city and see if we can find a shop. I hope you have money. Didn't really need much were I come from."

However, despite her misgivings common courtesy was a thing and it was better to make a good impression instead of being dead. Pretty grey eyes shifted to stare at the mam's own. "Hey, are you okay? You don't look to good."

Beauty incarnate did not seem to be either relieved or bothered by Emily's admission. In fact, it was almost as if she hadn't said anything at all. Then, a moment later, it seemed as if she was about to speak but then Mordred entered the room. Her eyes glanced over the Changeling's attire and she immediately stood up before reducing the distance between them to barely a foot.

Critical eyes examined the blonde's clothing but eventually broke off to meet her eyes. She circled the knight, not unlike a shark, before stopping behind her. The mage wrapped her arms around the other girl's waist and rested her chin on her shoulder. Her voice was more entrancing than any other sound in the world but her tone was rather normal. Neither seductive or critical as it had been in other cases. "The casual look suits you well, Mordred. Perhaps we can try out the dress another time."

It took a little bit of fuss but with the girl over her shoulder and a bit of awkward climbing they eventually made it back down to street level. Despite the chill of the winter the Patchwork didn't shiver at all as she deposited her burden back onto the ground. "So, here's what we can do. You tell me your name and you lead us anywhere that doesn't look like we'll get shanked in. I don't really know too much about this place myself and I think you would feel better leading than following a stranger around."

There was some genuine anger in the eyes of the divine woman as the girl explained her lack of clothing. What in the world even went around destroying clothing anyways? Whatever. That wasn't as important as the fact that the kid was freezing. With a sigh she took off her cloak and gloves before tossing them at the teenager and her moth, leaving the Patchwork in some weathered, brown shorts and a grey shirt. "It's a bit big for you but they'll keep you warm. Oh, and just try to ignore the colors if you can. They were a mistake."
