Urthemiel

The Old God sped after the fiery entity for a while before it saw the creature home in on an armored man suspended by wires before the it was extinguished by some water. Urthemiel was a bit surprised to see the albino and the purple haired girl again so soon but it was fine. They were not the focus of the dragon's attention this time.

He circled the castle once before landing in front of the unconscious armored man. If he was the source of the being of flame it might be worthwhile to question him to understand what it was. The Dragon of Beauty may not have been Dumat but his own curiosity concerning the supernatural things of the world was still powerful.

Urthemiel reached out and grasped the man with one of his talons and immediately flew back into the air with a mighty beat of his wings.

Aisha

The tanned woman smiled at the younger girl's request and ruffled her hair affectionately. "We can meet again any time you want, Child. But perhaps you should return to your protector now? I doubt you were walking through this city just to see me."

Urthemiel

The woman was once again distracted as a being of pure flame walked through the streets. It was no demon of rage, in fact it wasn't like any spirit she had ever seen in her long existence.

So Urthemiel followed the being of flame for her curiousity had been awakened. And right now the most pertinent question seemed to be where was the entity going. She glowed brightly again and an enormous purple dragon stood in her place. The Old God took off and followed the living flame from the air.

Urthemiel

The Old God watched the duo leave with the car but his thoughts were elsewhere. He hadn't been complimented or even acknowledged for his carefully crafted looks once this entire time. It was almost insulting. Perhaps another form was in order. The Tevinters had named a constellation in the form of a woman after him and he hadn't tried the female body for quite some time.

He glowed with a brilliant white light and shifted once more and Urthemiel surveyed her form with a bit of pride. Her hair reached down to her waist and was as dark as the space between stars, the only other color being the lovely purple that tinted the edges of the elegant strands which looked stunning as her hair drifted in an unseen wind.

Her eyes were still the bright purple of her scales and the slits were still there in place of normal pupils. Urthemiel's face was also graced with full, pink lips with perfectly straight and white teeth.

The rest of her form was complemented with delicate hands with lithe fingers, a moderate chest, a voluptuous rear, and long, slender legs. And her skin was a bit paler than normal but it helped add contrast to the varied colors of her hair and eyes. The Old God was quite pleased with herself in all honesty. She did very good work.

Caedia

Caedia gave Rebeca a grin but she still held out her hand with the Drake's Tear. This was how she had always made and been friends with others. Talking and just being together was certainly an important part but showering them with gifts was a very integral part of how she acted with others. She wouldn't budge on this, and if anyone knew the Arisen they would understand it would be easier to push back the wind than to convince them to do something they didn't want to.

The Arisen always kept mementos of the more dangerous creatures she faced. They were a sign of her hardships and were given only when she truly desired something. In this case it would be that she desired to know this girl more. It wasn't solely because of her looks, although that was what caught Caedia's attention at first. It was her silence. Caedia herself rarely spoke unless her moral were offended and it was in that silence she learned the value of just listening. In a world where everyone screams over each other to be heard it is rare to find those that will simply hear what others have to say. That is why she wanted to know this girl with red eyes and snow white hear more.

So she took a step forward with the glass orb still held out in front of her and said, "Take it."

PARIAH

The only thing that was present on PARIAH's face was annoyance as lightning from the weapon burned away some biomass. As the armored man launched himself into the using the child as leverage which unbalanced him for a second before he had 4 tendrils thicker than a man's arm burst from his back, wrap around the man's legs, and pull him back to earth.

But he would not have the luxury of landing on solid ground as PARIAH funneled biomass into the earth through his feet. And as the man was pulled towards the ground he was met by an enormous spike of biomass bursting from the ground intent on impaling him.

PARIAH

The virus frowned at the cloud of dust that had spread due to the bus that had just exploded. The problem was rectified quickly as several of the eyes PARIAH had switched to thermal vision. With this PARIAH could see the person in the air quite easily and two tendrils covered in spikes rose from his back. One moved to strike directly at the figure while the other waited to hit if the other one missed.

The armored figure that seeming commanded the others was also sensed quickly. His voice had given away his position and PARIAH's ears were keen enough to hear the heavy armor cracking the concrete as it approached him. Two more arms emerged from his torso while his other two transformed into blades.

The blade of the halberd that sliced through the dust was held back by these two natural weapons. In that instant the two new arms were fed more biomass and the black fists extended and shot towards the slightly obscured figure with incredible strength.

PARIAH

The child watched impassively at the opponents before him. Considering he was outnumbered extra eyes formed on the back and side of his head to grant him increased vision. Then the biomass of his arms and legs seemed to swell and increased his prodigious strength. With that done he was more than prepared for the bolts of energy and leaped over them with ease.

He landed near a flipped bus and gripped it with one hand before dragging it as he raced towards the three enemies. Then he swung the vehicle and let it go, sending it careening towards them at speeds far faster than any bus should ever move.

2288
Aisha

A bright smile spread across Aisha's face at the young girl's awe. "You may call me Aisha, Child."

Then she moved closer to the girl and whispered in her ear with the First Tongue. The rustling of reeds and whispers on the wind complemented the multitude of languages that she spoke in. And she said a secret. Not the most powerful nor the most dangerous but it was indeed the oldest. So old that both heaven and earth had forgotten it. Aisha whispered her true name. The entirety of her existence summed up in a few words. "The Heart of God."

The First Mother then pressed her lips to the Child's brow before pulling back. "If you ever truly need my aid then call me with that and I shall help you no matter what. Now then, is there anything that you desire from me, Anatu? I will do my best to grant the request if I can."

PARIAH

The infestation in the wall violently recoiled as parts of it began to rot. Flesh began to slough off and the decaying chunks slowly dropped until only the untouched flesh was left. The flesh that was quivering with anger. Across the entirety of the hotel spikes of hardened biomass tore apart floors and walls above and below the hallway as the virus petulantly raged at the loss of biomass to magic.

PARIAH wouldn't kill the mage. Sister wouldn't like that, and making family mad for something so small was bad. Instead a tendril thicker than a man's torso burst from the wall and smashed into the toy, sending him flying towards the other side of the hallway.

Caedia

A small smile appeared on Caedia's face at the beautiful girl's obvious embarrassment. Her hand was soft and delicate, and the Arisen doubted that she had participated in many fights. Caedia took the moment to appreciate Rebeca's looks again. She was a bit thin but even as her eyes took in the girl's other features they always returned back to her eyes and hair.

For someone who had already traveled across a land and learned of its people and creatures there was a powerful curiosity and attraction to new and interesting things. There was little doubt in the Arisen's mind that she would like to know this person a bit more. Oh, it had been so long since she had given people gifts. It almost felt nostalgic.

Her other hand drifted towards one of the smaller pockets in her pouch and pulled out one of her rarer gifts. A glass orb the size of a baseball that contained a Drake's Tear: a red, wondrous liquid exacted from the eye of a slain drake that was so unique that a forgery could easily cost around 50,000 gold pieces. The color was bright and magnificent in the daylight, and nearly matched Rebeca's eyes. Anyone could tell that the beautiful, red liquid that almost seemed to glow was worth no small sum.

The Arisen pulled back her hand from the handshake and held out the Drake's Tear with her other without saying a word.

Natara

The Caretaker carefully looked around as the smoke began to clear and as Michael dispatched the tainted creature and began to move towards her she quickly turned away and began to walk with a bit of unsteadiness in her step. She was far from quick and nearly stumbled multiple times but she refused to look back at the staff wielding man. This was all too much. Natara almost felt like curling up into a ball and crying until all the pent up emotion was released.

The pain in her head had been replaced with a feeling of disgust and anger as she could feel the new Taint moving and squirming in her veins. Her thin frame trembled with fury but her elegant grasp on The Chalice remained steady. The liquid within it was placid and didn't even ripple as its warden walked.

Urthemiel

The raven gave the purple haired girl the closest thing a bird could get to a disgruntled look before leaping from her shoulders and transforming into a man once more. The Old God kept pace with the two women and reached across the Fade for one of its innumerable lesser denizens. It barely took any effort to pull a few dozen wisps from the Fade and allow them to materialize as small, green balls of light which quickly began to float around the woman.

Wisps were barely intelligent to be perfectly honest. The leftover remains of powerful magic or a defeated demon didn't even have personalities, but they could follow relatively simple instructions and navigate the Fade. Sometimes. There was a reason he brought forth many of them.
"If the pest comes to bother you again send these to me. It may be foolish but it did manage to harness enough power to drown people in a flood of confectioneries. Comical perhaps but less so to the ones who were trapped in their transportation. Do try not to die as well. It would be a shame if a beauty as rare as yours was extinguished so early."

With that said he stopped and simply watched the duo walk away towards their vehicle. If spending ages within the depths of the earth had taught Urthemiel anything it was patience. He had watched the fall of the world's greatest civilization and rose a new empire from its ashes. Years beyond reckoning spent planning and setting pieces into motion. He could wait however long it took for the woman to contact him.

Urthemiel

The Old God raised a single, elegant eyebrow as the shapeshifter transformed into a fly. He followed suit and shifted himself into a beautiful raven with purple tinging the ends of the feathers on his wings. With a few flaps he flew over to the purple haired girl and perched himself on her shoulder and let out a small caw.

Caedia

The Arisen had a small frown on her face as she heard the question. There was no doubt in the dragon slayer's mind that this Akiholarme was a warrior but her intentions and desires were unknown to Caedia. She had known many great warriors who had been as bestial as the monsters she slayed. So instead of saying a word she simply shook her head.

Then her eyes shifted to look at Akiholarme's companion. Caedia would not be ashamed at all to admit that she was a bit captivated by the girl's appearance. Hair even whiter than the scales of an archydra and eyes the color of a Drake's Tear. Very exotic and beautiful features for any person. The Arisen had traveled the entirety of Gransys from the lowest floor of the Everfall to the top of the Tainted Mountain and she had never seen anyone quite like this.

She simply stared at her for a few moments before holding out her hand again to greet the stranger.

2293
Aisha

The woman let out a thoughtful hum as she listened to her Children and the pretender. Then she gave the deceiver a hard look and issued a warning in the First Tongue. The hissing of serpents, growls of beasts, and the buzzing of agitated insects exited her mouth before she spoke normally again.

"I will suffer this falsehood if that is what you all wish."

Then Aisha's attention returned to the Child she was cradling. She stopped holding her and instead pulled out her dagger. The blade bit into the palm of her other hand and she kept it there for a little while until a pool of white blood had formed. Then she put the knife away and instead pulled out a small vial in which she poured her blood into which revealed that the damage to her hand was already gone. A stopper was placed on the vial and she pushed it into the Child's hands.

"Keep it with you and keep it safe. If you are ever in great danger drink it, and you will be strong for a little while."

2294
Natara

The Chalice holder had been busy maintaining a grip on the wretched artifact as the inhuman creature choked her with unnatural strength. This was one of the few times she could be glad of the alterations done to her as she struggled to try and breathe and get free right before she heard Michael speak.

"Duck,"

She didn't even have the time to think before something slammed into her and the tainted creature, sending her sprawling away from it. A haze of pain clouded her vision which was not helped by the obscuring smoke. Her eyes drifted to The Chalice which was still held tightly in her grasp but it had spilled a bit as she was sent flying.

The words to recall the Taint seemed so distant now and the throbbing pain from her head and the distracting feeling of warm blood trickling down her face kept making her lose her train of thought. hurthurthurthaftlhurthurt The pain increased and Natara let out a low groan of agony.

H̛̳̟̘̩̭̥̍́̊́̊́͝Ủ̸̡̻͚̬̖̯̘̆ͯ̌̈Ṛ̹̮̙̣̏̂ͥ͢T̸̛̺͚͌́̽̆̏̋̎ͩ͜H̸̼̝̘̞̙͚͑̓A̷͉̲̰̤̜̪͊͐ͯ͐̎̕͞F̛͉͙͈͚̗̖̰̺̰ͨ̇̒͒̋ͣͪT̩͈̦͊̈́ͤͪL̓ͬͧ̒̀̂̃̚҉̣̠͔̤͠Ḥ̮͕͙͔̽ͪ̎͝Ū͚̹̠̹̓ͬͭ̀R̸̛̟͖̝̜͕̀̒ͥT̵̤͎̝͓͎͍̔͌̋̔̄̍́H̎ͣͫ͜͏̸̻̙̟̟̱̜͈̫U̴̖͒̇ͫ̂ͨͭ͌́̚͡R̸͌͟҉̘̻̭̫̖͎T̥̽͌̆̋͋̀ͅ

The Caretaker could barely think of anything as the pain became unbearable. Even then her mind raced trying to find the answer. The sequence of words that held power over the Taint. She whispered, "Haftl," but that was the wrong word. It was an easy mistake in this kind of situation. It was a terrible mistake in this kind of situation. The Taint rushed over her, easing her agony and sinking into her skin.

Her blood just grew a tint darker, and the whispers became a bit clearer. Then she slowly rose to her feet and looked around quite disoriented.

Caedia

The Arisen looked at Crest and gave him a small nod before going back to facing Akiholarme. This world was still so very strange. Even if she was unsure of Crest's motivations or who he even was it was better to face the unfamiliar with someone else. A hint of curiosity filled her voice  as she pointed at the building. "What is its purpose?"

It would be useful to know if it would be important or not. Much like Gran Soren Caedia had no doubt this Nexus also had places that she would need to visit from time to time. It would be important to know if this building would be of use to her in the future.

Urthemiel

The Old God looked at the shifting wires of the angry albino and the creature that had so easily moved through the earth and called upon his magic. A glyph that neutralized foreign magic emblazoned itself on the ground around the woman and the shapeshifting creature. "Do not tempt me to destroy you, false one. I am giving you a few moments free of my wrath for introducing me to this example of beauty."

Then he turned back to the woman with purple hair. "If it's permanent will it be passed onto your descendants as well?"

2295
Caedia

The Arisen cocked her head at the building. It wasn't much stranger to her than the other examples of bizarre building choices that the city held. She silently walked towards the building but paused in her walk when she saw a woman dressed in dark armor standing next to girl with red eyes and white hair.

The sight of armor was a bit nostalgic for Caedia but she didn't lower her guard in the slightest. This person was well equipped and didn't seem encumbered at all even with the armor that should at least be a bit strenuous to wear. And the lack of scars meant that she was either as green as grass or skilled enough to avoid too much damage to the face.

Regardless Caedia did believe the woman was due some respect. It is easy to try and blend in and become part of a mass of people that weren't you. With that in mind she walked over to the duo and held her hand out to the armored woman. "Caedia."

PARIAH

The mercury pierced the arms with ease but they were not impaired in the slightest. With another echoing giggle the hands extended and latched onto Kayneth before pulling him through the weakened floor straight into the pith black hallway below. Hardened biomass had covered the windows leaving only the hole which he had been pulled through as a source of light.

Urthemiel

The dragon slowly rose from its position as he saw a humanoid with purple hair. He quickly took off and sped towards the group as the blob changed shape into a relatively handsome man. Urthemiel slammed into the ground behind the two woman shattering the ground beneath his magnificent self before he glowed brightly and changed back into a human.

The Old God gave the transformed monstrosity a glare and summoned a wall of fire in front of the false one in warning before turning his head to face the woman with purple hair. "Your hair, is it natural? I haven't seen such a magnificent shade of color for hair in ages, and that was artificial."

Aisha

The motherly woman's voice slowly trailed off after the hacking coughs of the choking Child. One of her hands busied itself with running through the small Child's hair as she surveyed those before her. The elder Child was old but there was strength in him. Her eyes glazed over the average one and focused on the one with slightly pointy ears. one of the Knowing Children? Perhaps, but his ears were not quite sharp enough however the smell of the wilds clung to him and Aisha nodded her head towards him with what seemed like approval.

Then her eyes focused and narrowed at one of the ones farther away. Near a contraption of metal that Aisha had seen other ride. He appeared to be one of hers but she knew, instinctively, that he was not. That he did not belong to her. This time she spoke the First Tongue with a degree of anger, and the noisy chittering of insects and the low growls of beasts followed her voice. She raised a single finger to point at him.

"You. You are not one of mine own. What is your purpose here. Why hide within the skin of man, pretender?"
