The Arcueid route is the canon for Tsukihime, isn't it? If so, is there a chance for her to come back? IIRC, she did say she was going to sleep forever. And will her people - the True Ancestors - ever return to the world? They seem so much nicer than the Dead Apostles.

Nasu's take on the canoncity of the routes is that all true endings are canon, just not canon simultaneously, though Arcueid does mention in PLUS-DISC that it's more probable tht the "true heroine" belongs to the Far Side, sdince she and Ciel don't have anything to do wth Shiki normally. So you can't say that her route is the canon route. But she's still the main heroine due to being the titular Moon Princess and her true ending is named Tsukihime.
Arcueid won't be back in her true ending because that defies its own purpose. Nasu only wrote Last Episode because Takeuchi pestered him to do it, for example. And there wouldn't have any reasons for Gaia to create moreTrue Ancestors since Arcueid already does their job just fine.

I thought Nasu did say that Arcueid's route was the canon route of Tsukihime. With FSN he's never made any such statement, but with Tsuki I thought he had.

Yeah, except she's sealed herself in her Marble Phantasm, and the Dead Apostles stink at their job. Or rather, they stink at being the True Ancestors' substitutes; from what I gather, the True Ancestors were highly-respected in their time, much more so than the Dead Apostles, who appear to be viewed with hate by the magi.

The Dead Apostles don't exist to act as substitutes to the True Ancestors. They dont even CARE about fulfilling that role since some of them, like Nrvnsr for example, have absolutely nothing to do with he TA.

No, I suppose not. Personally, I find them even more unnatural than we Humans and our ability and willingness to steadily destroy the planet for our own selfish needs so it's a wonder Gaia/Alaya doesn't go after them. But I digress...
Moving on, with Arcueid sealed, won't there be a need for new True Ancestors eventually?

The story is called Moon Princess. She will be back.
Also, most TA's got killed either by Arc or DAs. With the Tsukihime II focused on the Dark Six, it will be mostly focused on the infighting of DAs.
