William

He stepped out of the library, squinting at the afternoon sun as he had spent too long inside, bundle of notes in hand in lieu of the books. William had only taken notes on the subjects he thought he would immediately need in this world. With a quick search, he drew out a briefly sketched map from the rest, glancing around the sketch, searching for his next destination. The cold air forgotten as he struck off for the closest junkyard.

He remained both silent and tense as he kept his grip, narrowing his eyes to keep out the wind batting against them. This was not the time to be making conversation as, considering his current attire and position, he had slightly more to worry about than usual.

He took a moment, making sure that there wouldn’t be any attack on the clearly impatient dragon’s part as his muscles relaxed. With a momentary glance down, William kicked his shoes against one another in turn to knock off anything that may have been stuck there before moving forwards, being sure to keep an eye on the dragon’s actions while he climbed up, using what foot and hand holds he could find to bring him up to the back of the impatient one, not wanting to miss a chance to find some information in this bizarre.

A whistle echoed through William’s head as the Bellatanus showed the second form he had seen. <That’s surprising.>
With a few blinks and an eyebrow raise, he stared for a moment before something halfway between a squeak and yelp drew his attention. He took a step over, slowly reaching his left hand out in front of the drake’s face. “Are you going to be okay there?” Both his voice and face were flat, revealing little about what he thought of this change of situation save for that raised eyebrow.
The roar resounded in his ears, sending his hands up to cover them. Despite that, the only change in his face was a crease of pain that only lasted for a moment.
<You’re not thinking of doing pulling that again, are you?> Of course not.
William half turned around, addressing the dragon behind him. “I do believe that you still have a deal to finalize first before we take off. Or were you going to take us to the library first and ask for the sample later?” The question floated out as his face once more settled into that blank expression with the single raised eyebrow; however, his body tensed, expecting an adverse reaction.

He decided that for the time being, biting his tongue and seeing what time would unfold was the best option. Though a few questions still rose up, unbidden.
Why does this being want the blood? Is the library’s data confirmed for this world? How would that data have been confirmed and more importantly, can that information change as the world does? <Why does that plant thing have that voice?>

He took a step back, allowing for a large enough opening for the Count to join the group as he turned his attention to the lady. His eyes had since recovered an apathetic glaze as he stared, observing the annoyance on her face. For the time being, he said nothing aloud, having decided that further voicing anything would likely end badly. Though he did prepare himself for the possibility that he may have to speak up once more.
<That’s not a good look for her.>

<Any ideas?> Coincidence. The thoughts on the matter of the voice were effectively shelved for the time being as action was more necessary at this juncture.

“If you do not mind, you would not happen to have some form of proof as to your claims as a King?” He asked as he finished turning around. Now, he stood up straight, shoulders squared and marginally more professional than just a moment ago. Though it only was meant to defuse the apparently cranky lady that was, by all appearances, ready to blast this newcomer away.

He fell silent, watching for the time being, this was after all ultimately his travelling companion's decision. Though he did still think that such a large volume of information would most likely have conflicting infor-His focus was broken by a somewhat familiar voice, one he could have sworn he heard yell 'he-man' before.

... Inconceivable.. <No way.>

He turned around part way, allowing him to view the source of the voice.

How? <Who cares how?>

“If I may?” He began, holding his free hand up as if to ask permission for his interruption, though he didn’t stop. “I doubt the largest library here would be terribly helpful. While it would have plenty of information to go off of, it’s also way too much for a couple of beings to go over alone.” After a brief pause, he added on as if it were an after-thought. “Plus, I’m fairly sure information like the largest library’s location would be somewhat common on many of the streets… Doesn’t seem like a fair exchange to me.” He voiced his opinion, letting his hand drop back down to his side once more.

With a raise of his eyebrow, he observed the two, leaving them free to talk as he stayed silent where he stood. Though it was unlikely whoever this was wanted his blood, it was still interesting to see beings so different making a deal.

<So... think he's in any actual danger?> Doubtful. Clearly if this... being wanted to, it could simply do as it desired by force. <And if.. "it" didn't want to?> ... Point. Though it is illogical.

His right hand tugged his shirt outward before his magic started silently siphoning the wine out of the glass and back into the bottle by the use of a funnel of wind created by William's basic magic. Though not a sound escaped thanks to a thin vacuum around the entire process.

“My apologies.” William sounded off with the smile remaining on his face as he retracted the glass back to his side.
<Can you take care of it?> This is what happens when you do not consider the outcome.

His head dropped slightly, as if considered the new information presented; however, it wasn’t long before he looked right back up with a response. “While the library might not be as helpful as we thought, it’s also true that it’s a library from another world, perhaps with a few entries from this one. I still think it’s worth taking a look.”

He walked right into the restaurant, not bothering to stop and wait for the attendant to take note as he continued inwards, knowing his goal as he turned towards the only door without a handle in the entire restaurant, guessing it was the same as most restaurants he had been in before.

<You’re really going to do this, aren’t you?> With or without your aid. A sigh echoed around in his mind, shortly before his mental companion caved <I’ll get the bottle. You really shouldn’t have blown… Him? Her? off though.> I made all of the- The silent debate stalled as his right hand moved forward, pushing against the door as it gave way.

At once, the two minds set about their separate tasks, scanning the room. Each one finding and noting the different locations of their respective items. His left hand moved up as William cast a minor wind spell, splashing a small amount of grease out of one of the pans to cause a small grease fire for distraction. His right, moved over, lifting a bottle off the table to test how much it had left. Judging that it would likely be tossed out, his hand stayed around the bottle as he continued forward. His left reached out, scooping up a pile of pepper stems. Soon after, he dropped them atop a cling wrapped bowl before plucking each of the corners to free the wrapping. With a flick of his wrist, the pepper stems were wrapped and headed for his pocket. His right hand now poured the last bit into a glass. William shoved the slender bottle into his right pocket before reaching back to pick up the glass. With that, he moved his right hand back to his body, sheltering the glass from view for the time being. On his way out, as the last “insignificant” items he took, he plucked a cork off of one of the counters before making his way out of the door and into the alley.

- proper comments, whoever it is should have no reason to be upset. <You really don’t get others, do you?> If that is what you think..

With that, he fixed his shirt, attempting to hide the bottle and rejoined the two he had left approximately 2 minutes prior, holding the glass forward to the unknown one in front of him. “My apologies for my friend you met earlier. I’m William. Might I offer you a glass of wine?” A few things seemed different about the person who left and had now rejoined. Of note, he was actually smiling, his eyes had gained a twinkle about them. As for his posture, he was relaxed, open, and seemed different from when he had left.

While he too was appreciative of the warmth provided by the sphere of fire, yet he was bothered by two main things. The first being that for the time being, he was stuck as a bystander in this conversation for what appeared like it would be some time before either his traveling companion or this unknown being had their fill of correspondence as Aptera was the one with the information of where the library was. The second being this magic that was drawing his attention.
<You know, that could probably kill us.> That is what I have a problem with. Seeing how our magic does not even brush that level. It may be simply that whatever this is has more magic to spare. <You’re overthinking it. You said it yourself when we got here. Wasn’t it “The likelihood of us encountering someone who will help outweighs the risk of making an enemy”?> … No matter, it does us no good to stand by idly. <… Right.>
With that, William’s eyes drifted around the environment, looking around for something to occupy his time with. His eyes landed on what appeared to be a fairly normal restaurant.
<No.> Why not?
Before his other side could get its point in, he turned back towards the two in conversation. “If you will excuse me, I will be waiting in the restaurant over there. As for the present, I am slightly hungry.” He said, letting the simple lie leave his lips as if it was a fact. In truth, he rarely ate breakfast and would likely get hungry some time in the later evening. With that, he left to walk into the restaurant.

“I see…” He said, falling silent in his line of thought shortly before finding his line of thought entirely obliterated by a single unexpected voice apparently directed to his traveling companion. He fell silent, though his face remained un-creased as he glanced at the.. man? Woman? To be honest, he couldn’t tell which this being belonged to. His eyes drifted over the unknown one, noting the slitted, vibrant purple eyes with his own, admittedly mundane brown ones. The beauty there on this unknown one’s face was apparent, even to him, though he chose to ignore it, moving on to his travelling companion, who was by the looks of it… awestruck.
<She looks really-> Do not continue that comment. <And why not?> Unlike Lycodrake, we don’t need to. We have enough information and it will suffice not to drag anyone else into this. <I was just going to-> And, we do not know the extent of abilities those here may carry. After all, we had not found magic until arriving here. <... Fine, be that way.>
“I must apologize.” He began, picking his words carefully as to not offend the one who had approached. “But we do not have much time to stop as our current states are not the best for the given weather. If you would like, you are free follow. As for us, we are headed to a nearby library for both information and a small bit of shelter from the current weather. You a
His face, the entire time he was speaking stayed blank in expression. Despite the beauty, the curiosity of the eyes, and even the strange semblance of both man and woman, his face remained as it was before. In addition, the flame continued to burn in his hand, providing some small amount of warmth for him and the two now nearby.

William, contenting himself to listen for the time being until Lyco had finished his line of thought, elected on an attempt to warm himself in the mean-time by the use of his magic. After some minor focusing, a flame alights in his hands, flickering as its warmth is cast about. It’s at that point that William’s full attention is caught by the talk of the being of chaos.
<… Think it’s him?>
Doubtful, the one we know is too calculated to be related to chaos…
“I agree, a library would be most helpful in finding out what options are available to us; however, there’s no harm in speculation. After all, one idea often leads to another and we can filter out any ideas that are blatantly wrong with the library’s aid.”
