K. Got that out of my system. I'm out.

Cu Chulainn

He was disgruntled. Displeased.

How ungrateful, to not take his assistance. Archer was definitely not trustworthy. He reeks of deception and deceit. How could these people not get it was Cu Chulainn's wonder. And now he has to deal with this Heroic Spirit under this one roof. This was certainly a great day. But, he surely isn't going to worry about it right now. Anger isn't going to cover that hole, but widen it instead.

As the former Servant finally headed up the final leg of stairs, he turned back at the vampire to ask.

"Is this it?"

The entrance to the roof? No doubt that the sun would be shining down upon them. It would require her to stay below as he worked above.

For Knights, how does investing in Sorcery affect their spell cap? Priests have Disciplines broken up by spell type, so they know the exact number of each; how does that apply in a Knight's case?

I'm only really allowing one or two type of sorcery to specialize in at most. With only up to 2 points at most in each. Same rules when it comes to making the spells and their dot ranks. They're knights. They shouldn't have to deal with sorcery much unless there's a special circumstance. Like being an elemental knight. I'd at least let them reach the three point cap in that specific element (well flame knights would have the flame sorcery that gifts them resistance to flames and as well as an added bonus to their Madou Flames at best.), but would really restrict in allowing them in learning another separate sorcery discipline.

Forgot to also mention that Knight characters in the trainee arc are barred from having rings and the armor until the next arc. Totes not a pathetic attempt to shove this rp in other people's throatsl.

Cu Chulainn

Forest rubbed her forehead and said, "You know you two are from separate world lines right?  You're not his Archer, Archer, and Lancer your not his Lancer."

"Eh?"

Cu stared dumbfoundedly at the vampire as if she mentioned a plethora of indiscernible jargon at him. Different world lines? He looked back at Archer, to see if there's anything visibly and conspicuously different about him. There wasn't. "You're shitting me? Right?"

Now this is more headache-inducing. Stuck in the middle of some random city, it's connected to all sorts of other worlds?

Law just pinched the bridge of his nose, trying not to lose his calm. God knew who was lying and who was telling the truth here. "OK, so, your Archer was a prick, and this Archer wasn't a prick and was loyal. Can we at least all agree on this?"

"I was loyal to the end. I can't say much about Lancer here in that regard." Archer's tone grew grim. The tension in the room was rising. High.

He glared back at the bow-using Servant with a glare. Different worlds or not, he seemed to be the same as the Archer back in Fuyuki. "Loyal? Betraying your little Master for Caster and then backstabbing her says otherwise, Archer."

Law simply decided then, that was good enough. Fuck the consequences at this point. Time to go for broke. "Archer. Just cut your hand and mine. We've got a deal." A simple projected knife appeared in Archer's hand, Law grasping it, palm slit open. Archer followed suit, and with a simple handshake as the blood mixed, the contract was sealed.

Cu dropped his jaw at the suddenness of it all. Did this guy just contract with him anyway? Even though he has quite questionable loyalty? He grit his teeth. This was enough. Whatever. If the guy didn't want his help, so be it. Lancer turned away from them and reached for the tarp.

"Oi, lass," he called to Forest, "Let's go. Show me the way."

Time

Gintoki

That was a dirty move. That shoddy Majin Buu wannabe was nothing but a coward, and likely that lightning bastard was in cahoots with him. Gintoki tumbled on instinct to avoid the lightning, but it was naturally faster than his own movement. Reaching his left leg, the pain wracked him. He beared it with his willpower, but his such damage slowed him down surely. This was bad, two of his limbs out of commission. He needed outside help badly.

Tohuw Balagan

"Who told you to do that, you cur?" the demon snarled, his eyes reddening with a scarlet tint and narrowing as if to pierce Cole. That filth had no right to touch his toys. To do it once was grave enough, but to do so a second time was unforgivable. The air froze with a terrifying chill, a rumbling came from beneath the earth as if to devour all of them. There was no mistake, the demon was furious. A loud snapping noise broke all sound and overruled it, the demon clicking his tongue and baring his fang.

"A dog should stay down like a dog and not interfere unless told to. Here, go fetch a bone and disappear."

As soon as he spoke with an unnaturally cold voice, he snapped one of the cookies he was holding between his fingers. The earlier boxes simply disappeared before bright light shone down the floor Cole stood next to, and before one could even notice, the asphalt ground began to bubble.

"Tsk, what a shame. It seems you just can't have nice things... oh well." he sighed, lowering his hat and restraining a bitter chuckle.

Cole

The samurai wannabe, somehow, managed to avoid a direct hit from melee range. He couldn't quite dodge completely, though, and ended up going down with a shot to the leg. Had he not been interrupted by a small earthquake, he might have maintained the arc lightning, but instead his attention was torn away to the being floating above them. Then the air snapped before he began to speak.

"A dog should stay down like a dog and not interfere unless told to," it said, "Here, go fetch a bone and disappear."

Unfortunately for it, Cole was firmly of the opinion that talking wasn't a free action.

Before the being could finish, black lightning surged through Cole's arms as he raised them up and brought them down in one swift motion just as the asphalt beside him began to glow.

Without warning, without time to even question what Cole had just done, black lightning pours down from the sky as if to bring to mind the wrath of Zeus, countless massive bolts of lightning striking down upon and around the being.

It has been already one helluva night after the magus and vampire incident. Trucks and explosions, that was one dramatic way to end it. But that didn't make this winter cold any warmer. And the morning had an awfully nice surprise on him as he had to be laid off. In all respects, it shouldn't be with the store lacking many customers. But, this was too soon. Way too soon. Now how the hell is he going to pay off the rent?

A flash of light and cacophonous noise of thunder caught his attention. More of the Nexus' shenanigans. Something Time wouldn't involve himself with. But who cares? He's fired and what else does he have to do? The swordsman trotted off to see what's been going on. Only to see some grand display of what seemed like magic going on. He clicked his tongue at distaste for it and soon saw someone was pretty disheveled. Screwed up. Fucked up.

"Oi, let's get you out of here," he offered a hand towards some silverhead with a kimono.

Quote
Well you nearly fucked yourself hard.

Wait wait wait grail war?

I have no idea.

It makes sense in a competition to backstab though doesn't it?

Yes. If you are the one doing the backstabbing.

Fuck. Fuuuuuck.

"Well, fine, then do you want a contract Irishy McIrish? I could use someone to help me from getting raped."

Archer just ground his teeth in frustration. So close. But... he hadn't done any of those things. He still had a chance, hopefully. "I don't know what he's talking about. I died - sort of - for my Master. He tried to kill mine."

So now, who to trust?

God, that is the question.

A spirit seems to be the better option, if both are trustworthy.

Yeah...

Cu snorted at this Archer's claims as he placed both hands on his own hips, "Please. I wasn't even half serious and what were you even doing when I made just a few swings at her? I say that's pretty questionable on the account of your loyalty. And besides, isn't killing your enemy's Master another point of the War anyway? At least I didn't betray my own Master, even if he was a cowardly git."

"--Even though he used a Command Seal for me to kill myself."

The embarrassment of ending up stabbing himself on that enforced order that Kirei used up truly was a sore spot for Lancer.

She turned towards him and said, "I don't trust him as far as I can throw him.  And what has he done?"

Forest folded her arms around her chest, lifted one eyebrow, grinned and said, "I want to hear what Captain Bondagepants did too."

"And ya'd be quite right to not trust him, lass," Cu agreed eagerly with the red-head. He started to put down the tarp onto the very ground, its contents flopped against the floor. Maybe to enjoy this little revelation he would offer.

Quote
"Fine fine, I'll listen... geez, half the fun of this is not knowing what happens." Law crossed his arms, waiting for Cu's response. "I've pulled this in the past and it turned out alright..."

Archer's face grew grim. He might end up losing his best chance at a Master, barring Rin falling from the heavens on him.

The spearman smirked at the Servant's displeasure. Cu didn't take well to treacherous men kindly. And having been recently screwed over by the malicious Priest, the demi-god isn't exactly going to stand by and watch some other guy get shafted as well.

Lancer nonchalantly began, "Well well, where do I start...? Hm. Ya, that would do it. We were both contestants in what's called the Holy Grail War. There were seven of us. Each of us partnered up with our own Masters with each of us contracted ourselves to them. In the war, he already back-stabbed two Masters in a row for his own goals."

Cu glanced back at Law, "Lad, you really sure you want to enter in a contract with him? It's better off to let him disappear."

I changed my mind. Not gonna use the map system. I feel like staying more free-form for now.

Forest chuckled and said, "He doesn't look overly old, but he does seem to be a bit of a curmudgeon."

Cu shrugged at this. Any more discussion about that rusty old blade brought him distaste.

Quote
"I know a few ways to seal a contract like this," Archer said, taking himself out of his cocky little lean and instead standing tall, ignoring the distraction of the two newcomers. "A certain way to get this sealed would be tantric rites."

Lawrence looked confused. Sighing, Archer continued. "Sexual activites."

Ok, there's something that Cu felt like he knew where this was going. And knowing Archer's nature, this isn't going to go well for this Law dude. Just as he was going to interject and inform Law of what kind of person the Servant was, a scream caused him to jolt and stare at the source of the cacophony.

Quote
"Oh FUCK NO." The sheer volume of Law's outburst surprised even himself. "That's worse than what death tried to pull!"

"Well, it's either that or some sort of binding spellcraft using seals, or maybe a blood ritual." Archer didn't look too happy about the prospect of his Rho Aias being violated either. "And I don't know how to do the binding."

"Fuck. Fuck. Blood then. Anyone got a knife?"

"I don't think that - " Archer was cut off by Law. "It'll work Captain Leatherpants, trust me."

"Oi, lad. Ya sure ya wanna hook up with him?" Cu spoke with a look of concern, "I wouldn't trust him. Believe me, I've seen what he's done."

Random GARO Fact: Have you noticed that Takeru’s Makai Sword has words engraved on it? These words written using Madou characters read “love is stronger than death”. Incidentally, that’s the meaning in Japanese flower language for the gamazumi or linden viburnum, a common Asian shrub with small white flowers.

...Well, that just tore up my heart, again. Thanks, season 3! ;;w;;

EDIT:
Quote
Random GARO Fact: In the final episode of the first GARO series, Kouga cries when he sees the drawing Kaoru made on the blank last page of “Black Flames and Golden Wind”, the picture book her father made long ago. The drawing wasn’t shown at that time as it didn’t even exist, but the last page wasn’t blank either. What the actual book they used had on its last page were written messages for Konishi from the rest of the people that worked on the series.

Quote
"Ryosei Konishi walked along with GARO for eight years. Those were the days of his youth in which sometimes he cried out of frustration and sometimes he cried out of happiness. The bonds that he formed with the companions he met here, with his best actor friends, surely are invaluable treasures to him. ‘Kouga Saejima would be glad that he was played by Ryosei Konishi’, that’s what everyone of the staff, the perfomers, and the fans think. Once again, thanks."

I'm announcing a few more changes. I'm going to have to scrap the Trainee templates. So if you're joining the RP, go with the normal templates. I decided it's much easier that way since there's more variety that can help me set up the RP. Franco, you'll be fine as is. Same with Yolf. So just use the normal templates. I also put them under Code so that way it's easier to copy and paste onto a word document or something so you can write it out.

Lastly I'm announcing a change in the Makai Armor, an additional buff stat. That buff stat is in your Soul Metal Weapon Number Rank. Think of it as a temporary modifier as long as you're in the armor. After all, your weapon also changes appearance a bit when you do put on armor anyway. So I edited the Makai Knight Template accordingly.

Should look like this:

Strength: +3

Speed: +3

Agility:  +3

Endurance: +3

Resistance: +3

Soul Metal Weapon: +3

Should be all for today.

http://mamorishimono.tumblr.com/tagged/hagane+no+houkou/page/2

A little something I found while searching for a different GARO topic, and I think everyone familiar w/ the series here would appreciate. This and the next page (being more recent) are interspersed translations of a sidestory novel that also featured setting lore appendices, which are the real treasure.

Clicking on the 'garo' tag will expand the set to about 14 pages; among them are translations from other official sources that relate to scenes or mechanics from the toku series that actually showed up on-screen, but may not have been explicitly explained before.

As an example:
Quote
Random GARO Fact: As you know, in Soukoku no Maryu it’s shown that Kakashi’s original form was a wooden machine that young aspirants to Makai Knights use to train. These training tools are called Bokujin. As the young boys get stronger, the Bokujin with which they fight become gradually wrecked. When the kids complete their training, they are suposed to pay a visit to the worn out Bokujin to put on them some item they owned, such as a toy, as a way to express their gratitude. Rei follows this tradition when he puts his trophy from the Sabak on the Bokujin Kouga is standing in front of. This practice was also taken into account for the design of Kakashi’s costume. The young trainees become legit Makai Knights rather soon, but in the process a lot of them forget about the Bokujin that served as a training tool for them. This is reflected in the scene in which Kouga leaves the Blue Mansion after Kakashi proposed an alliance between them, as Kakashi shows signs of being about to cry. Kuromaru notice his sadness and asks about it, but Kakashi denies it with resentment saying, among other things, that “people are cold-hearted.” That was a line director Amemiya thought early while he was writing the script. He really wanted Kakashi (aka Scarecrow) to say it.

Give it a read!

Bonus: http://kiraidesunosekai.tumblr.com/post/77864435041/mamorishimono-kiraidesunosekai

Thanks man. I'll be sure to do so.

Also, any of you guys who are familiar with Garo live-action and the anime, what do you think about the difference in physics between them? I'm mostly fine with the summoning actions in Yami Wo Terasu Mono, but that's still tenuous. Admittedly enough. The rest seems to need some discussion really. From GAIA-Alfonso rocketing himself at the Horror with Madou Flames to that telekinetic "sword fight" when Kouga and Rei fought against each other?

I generally would be against those being in the RP. Since Madou Flames should be mostly be used for an attack buff or as an attack itself as those wave-motion attacks and the flamethrower. The one with Kouga vs Rei? I'm against that too since we don't ever see anything like that ever again. And I don't see any point in it.

Thoughts?

And some of you may mention about that air-splitting wave thing like Soldat did. But I'm probably going to only allow that at the highest levels of Martial Arts or Soul Metal Manipulation. Depending. So don't worry about that.

Edit: I discussed with Yolf a bit. I think I'm going on the "somewhere in-between the baseline" as far as the physics goes between the anime and the live-action. That armor summoning we see in Yami wo Terasu Mono? Probably not going to be a thing here. Best to keep it "simple".

@Puck: What if a Priest/Alchemist has a Sounding Plate, would that help in "scrying" what's up ahead?

Also, while I'll still wait up tonight (and at the times you put for tomorrow, just in case) on irc, I'll be PMing you some questions regarding Madou Flame. You bring up the anime a bit, but are we going to be playing based off the anime's "physics", or the toku series? B/c the anime actually put in goddamn bloody Touhou danmaku, and some of the early Armored fights almost looked like the Knights were actually flying. :V

Now that's a good question. And I wish I was thinking about that. I suppose you could do that. But at best, I'll still have to figure something out about how this is gonna work. So back to the drawing board for meh.

Edits to Makai Knight Discipline of Madou Fire.

Madou Fire: The manipulation and harnessing of Madou Fire. Makai Knights are capable of summoning fire or even using a madou lighter for it. These magical flames can be used to light oneself or their own weapon in order to add additional damage to Horrors. Each point in Madou Fire will add "conditional" points into Soul Metal Weapons and Makai Armor since they are used to light them up. A point here will mean an additional and temporary point onto Soul Metal Weapon ranks and Makai Armor Resistance buff stat when using it to light it up. A Makai Knight is capable of making long range wave-motion attacks with their flames. Or even make multiple cuts that hang flames in the air in arcs before launching them as projectiles.
