Ah, much better. That is a more sightly look already.

"I will take note of that." He told her simply. His worry seemed to have been baseless after all. Despite his eerie look at the moment, he was talking as calmly as if he was having a casual conversation. She was truly puzzling. Had she not asked him to teach her how to kill him? What use would holding back have? It would only soften her and make her comfortable.

"Against an opponent that outclasses you physically in every way, why would you choose to  close your distance? What you should have done was break my arms and legs. Even an immortal cannot fight without his limbs, but a head is not always necessary. Remember that."

Blackmore (at the stadium)

"Hah! You've got interesting tastes."

Pft. Did she have any idea who he was? Well, if she did she probably wouldn't have asked in the first place. "Don't sweat it, this is a public event. As long as you don't pull anything stupid in the tournament itself, past crimes will not count against your eligibility. In fact, if you win you might even get pardoned. Doesn't that sound sweet?" He grinned from ear to ear, the sort of smile of a predator awaiting prey.

Blackmore (with Rosa)

Blackmore felt good. Great even. His head still ached from the humiliation that brat gave him, so her tears might as well be ointment to him. Ah, but he couldn't quite say that now could he? Besides, he really had to kiss that man. After all, he just gave him a golden opportunity.

"Hey, don't you think you're being a bit harsh? She hasn't done anything that bad. You should pick on people your size kid." He told the poor man, whom he pitied really, because if it weren't for the situation he wouldn't have to bend his limbs backwards and throw him out of the window like a rolled up scrap paper.

He quite litterally picked him off the girl like a piece of paper, in fact, before dropping him off  away. "Whew, kids these days have no matters at all. Here, c'mon buddy, don't cry." He gave her a friendly grin, for as friendly as he could look, before handing her a mint. "Have some dessert kid, that'll cheer you up."

The giant reached her in but a few moments, but for a second he understood what just happened and frowned deeply. As his hand grabbed her face, the lightning faded, but rather than hitting her he dragged her with him. No, he pulled back, that much was clear and evident. With only a fraction of the strength he had just displayed, he threw her down the earth like a catapult. He had won, from the beginning this had been carved in stone. So why was he upset?

"You disappoint me." He said as he, she, and all of the rubble landed on the ground, causing dust to rise all over. "Why?" Was all he could ask.

Engetsu

"That is true." The demon nodded, though he was a bit curious himself. Now that she had found a demon companion, what exactly was she planning to do? "But that doesn't mean you can't be cute in your own way!" He smiled and closed his eyes, fully believing in his every word. After all, while humans and demons were different, so were humans among humans. In fact, just about everyone was different and unique.

"Shall you travel here long, or have you found shelter already? I would not mind lending you a room until you find a place to stay. Does that sound agreeable?"

...I don't like him.

The undead pirate extended his hand and shook Jack's with a pleasant tone. "Sure! Don't sweat it pal." Why couldn't he partner up with a sexy lady or something? That kiddo Mason had more sense knocked into his noggin than he could see him ever having.

But he was his partner, so there was no sense in not trying to get along. If he tossed away every coin around him because of a speck of dirt or two, he'd soon become penniless!

"So, what can you do?"

"You underestimate my power." He told her with grave resolve, stepping forward with such force that the site seemed to quake before his march. There was no denying the immeasurable pressure emanating from him, but at this moment it had reached an entirely different level.

With a thunderous kick he shattered the wall's foundation, causing the entire platform to crumble on itself as he propelled himself upwards with the force of a freight train. He ran up the wall, practically dragging it down with his legs coated with lightning, readying his fist to strike her. No matter how great their distance was, it would be meaningless if he destroyed it, the high ground would mean nothing if he dragged it down below him.

Meanwhile, space seemed to warp and contort around his other hand, as if it was ready to summon something otherworldly.

"Sure. So who's gonna be my partner?" He waved is hand dismissively, toying with flames in his hand lazily. "Don't worry, I won't lose." He added confidently, but today something seemed different. His fire was fiercer than before, in fact  he seemed to be committed to something for a change.

Engetsu

"Why thank you." He smiled sincerely at the praise, though really it was nothing but a trifle. But afterwards, his expression turned somewhat grave, if not worried. "I know many who would agree with you. I also know many who would go so far as to say that humans are the vermin of this world, and they would not have a shortage of examples as well."

He managed to smile, but he seemed sad, if not troubled. "I believe what matters is the individual and the actions one takes, rather than the nature of one's blood. I am not so foolish as to say that humans and demons are alike. In fact, we couldn't be any more different. But I believe in a future where we can accept our differences and nurture friendly relations."

Just like he once did.

Engetsu immediately snapped back and realized the atmosphere had grown quite gloom. He closed his eyes and smiled sincerely, if noy a little abruptly. "Oh my, your cup is almost finished. If you enjoyed the tea so much, let me pour you another. It's on the house."

A booming explosion resonated like a hammer of steel, an eruption of force that mortal men only dream about. But this time, something was different. Something did not go as he expected. The explosion of kinetic power did not come from him, rather, his head was subjected to the entirety of the ultimate blow, torn asunder in a dozen pieces by the unimaginable force.

Her trump card had succeeded, destroying his skull and thoroughly decapitating the warrior of steel. His vice grip softened and released her throat as what little life remained in his vessel faded, if one could consider it life in the first place. He crashed unceremoniously through the floor and fell below, almost shattering the next one under the weight of the impact and causing a cloud of dust to rise.

For a second, his soul and aura faded, almost like he was truly dead. For far too long, there was not a single shift within the smoke. It was only logical. No creature should be able to survive without a head, conventionally speaking this was nothing short of a fatal blow.

And that is why it failed. Because the man who named himself Vanguard did not follow conventional logic. He distinguished himself from the masses by being a man who lived and died performing the impossible, and the fact he stood right now was a testament to that.

Interesting...

Despite everything above his shoulders being gone, he looked up, as if staring above at her. His words rang through the entire construction site, reverberating like a calm and icy lake. They were absurd, ludicrous. Terrifying.

"Are you done?"

The giant chuckled. "Very well, heh heh. Your eagerness is quite something, just follow along then." He told the two with a huge grin, leading them to an empty room with a small studio and an even smaller camera. He directed them to stand against the wall and fiddled with the camera device with odd expertise despite the ridiculous size difference.

At any rate, he pointed the incredibly small camera towards the two and grinned.

"Say cheese!"

Hmph, interesting...

So he wasn't the target after all. While evading him was a wise move, he failed to understand the meaning of her next maneuver. Did she think this would somehow grant her an advantage?

A hand ripped through wind and grabbed her throat as she was about to strike him. With the force of a raging tornado, he used her momentum to twist his body, releasing a heavy gust of wind as he guided her onto the floor with triple-fold might, crushing it apart with a thunderous impact brimming with lightning. That was the ultimate difference between the two. She would drag the heavens down so she could reach their level. He, on the other hand, would go so far as to destroy it.

"That was foolish." He told her dejectedly, tightening his grip as both fell down. The moment she'd hit the ground, her loss would be certain. But that had not happened yet. Was the situation truly hopeless?

Onmyuoji?

Putting aside the foreign term he used there was still the pressing matter of having to come up with an answer as to why she was knowledgeable about demons. Well it wasn't so much an issue more than a subject she didn't want to discuss lightly. She let out a sigh at the inevitability of it.

"I've killed far too many over the years not to have a clue about them." She told him truthfully.

Engetsu

"I see." He nodded curtly as he absorbed the information. It was definetely a heavy subject to tackle, if not a difficult one. He had to respect her honesty, at the very least. But he wouldn't judge her over this little, though he'd be lying if he said she didn't pique his curiosity.

"You must've been a powerful warrior then. I am honored to be able to meet such a person." He smiled truthfully, without a single hint of doubt in his words. He crossed his arms confidently, radiating that same serene presence.

"So what do you know of them?" He asked her directly, cutting straight to the point with a honest interest in what someone as strong as her would have to say.

"And who might that foolish man be?"A voice suddenly called behind her while her back hit something, casting a shadow over everyone at the table. How did such a massive man just sneak up on everyone at the table? It was almost like he just appeared out of nowhere, or was there all along and they had just noticed.

"Aw look, you've even made a new friend. I'm so proud of you." He beamed at her, peering at the man who had collapsed a second ago with strange interest. "Is everyone enjoying their meal?"

Whatever plot or scheme she concocted, his hawk eyes would see through them all. Not for a second did his stoic expression stop observing her. The metal warrior dashed, only to change direction and raise his knee with colossal force to strike her from the side with the intent to follow through with a feral palm strike.

The pirate kicked the seat in front of him with all his strength, enough to knock a normal man forward and more than enough to send Jack the message. "Quit yappin', I can't hear the lady." He commanded him with undeniable might. "So what is it?" He asked Hazel, finally somewhat curious. Or maybe, and more likely, he was bored.

The pirate didn't care at all for the change in momentum, if he even noticed it. It didn't seem to affect his body in the slightest, strangely enough.

"Please don't tell me I have to burn another cutie..." He sighed. All tis stress ought to give him wrinkles at some point. "Well, come on. Leave the suspense for another shmuck, my heart won't be able to take it."
