Vanguard

Vanguard allowed Sakura her silence, if only to ponder himself. Suddenly, a ghost of a smile appeared.

"Sakura. I wonder, do you ever feel a sort of... deja vu?" He asked her, genuinely curious himself.

Costin

The vampire greedily helped herself to another slice of the pizza when Jasey suddenly asked an odd question. Odder was the fact she'd actually spend time pondering on something so trivial. Well, it's not like time was a commodity she lacked, so she guessed she could spare the effort.

"Uh, you know, i'm not that picky when it comes to hobbies. Reading, drawing, listening to music, watching movies. Well, I guess you people used to call it theater and opera back in the day. Do you really think there'd be anyone left if all I ever did was murdering for almost two hundred years? Even a sick fuck like me knows the importance of moderation." She nodded sagely, letting the words of wisdom sink in her friend's thick head.

She took a sip of the soda and sighed in satisfaction. Food, just like murder, truly was more satisfying with company.

"What about you? Anything in particular you like?"

"Eh? What's wrong mis *moment of realization immediately dawned upon him* ster?" He asked the monk with a curious eyebrow. Was this some sort of prayer before one's meal?  He simply couldn't fathom why one would go to such lengths for a simple meal, and that was coming from the Asian district's self proclaimed greatest glutton!

Meanwhile the bowl hissed, not simply because of its sheer malice but also because of its boiling heat. It was just a special 15$ bowl of ramen with mild spices, meat and vegetables, so there was no way something like an exorcism could fix whatever was inherently wrong with the mass of culinary hatred.

Of all things he had been accustomed to, this definitely wasn't one of them. He kept it cool, but just as you can't fake blushes it is also very hard to hide them. Deep breath Engetsu! Just take a deeep breath.

"Very well." He said with a toothy grin, revealing a set of fangs. "Well, I am nowhere near being an actual chef. I just enjoy cooking a lot. Well, if I couldn't do this much, I would just be a failure as a cook. I guarantee that this will knock your socks off!"

"I'S READYYYY!" A cheerful voice called from the kitchen. A demon wearing an apron emerged with a proud smile.

Atop the plate Engetsu proudly held in his hand... was... something. What that something was defied description, it didn't merely sit on that bowl so much as writhe malevolently, hating all and hated by all. It breathed, or perhaps it was still bubbling with rage and vile intentions, as what had once been ordinary ingredients simmered in a grotesque pool of malice and spices. Compared to this, the chi that emanated from the dragon tower was nothing, no wonder Engetsu was unaffected.

"Well, don't let it get cold." He said jovially as he set the bowl on the table. "It's on the house, so dig in!"

"Anything? Those are pretty big words, I'll hold you to them." She cooed mischievously before kissing her on the cheek. "Fu fu fu... There, I think we're good now, my cute little girlfriend." She said teasingly.

She didn't even need to look at that adorable blush, the smell in the air was enough to tell her everything about her reaction and it made the vampire feel all giddy.

"Iunno. You're the one who asked me out, shouldn't you have a place or two in mind? Hmmm?" She clung to the girl's arm and  gave her a devilish grin.

"Well, meat would be nice, and extra cheesy, that's a given. I am a simple woman of simple tastes after all. And absolutely no pineapple, or anchovies. They make me sick. Other than that, I'm good. Really, just give me whatever you like."

Engetsu

"Huh? Well, I had to refill my stock to make sure I can feed my customers. Got an inn to take care of, you know?" He said, puffing his chest with pride and smiling. "Well, if its not much, I could reward you for lending me your company. The least I could do is make sure you don't slumber on an empty stomach. What do you say?"

Name: Ito Kizumi

Aliases: Kinslayer, “Hito Kiri”, Spider.

Race: Human

Age: 35

Height: Average/tall-ish

Weight: Well built and endowed, far from lightweight.

Appearance:

Physical Attributes

Strength: Incredible

Agility: Heroic

Constitution: Incredible

Magic Scale: None.

Other Abilities:

Shadow Step: Kizumi’s mastery enables him to move faster than any living creature could dream of without emitting any sound, his steps are as audible as an ant’s while as quick as the gale.

Ninja Mastery: Kizumi has trained in the art of assassination since his childhood, and is immensely proficient in combat and acrobatics, using stealth, speed and impossible nimbleness to slay his opponents before they can blink.

Afterimage Clones: Through a complex movement technique, Kizumi can manifest afterimages of himself to confuse opponents and have them leave potential openings. Of course, they are but an illusion, can be distinguished by superior perception after a moment, and cannot act physically.

Precise medical knowledge: Though he never used it to heal others, Kizumi possesses advanced medical knowledge and has studied extensively on the intricacies of the human body. He knows how to dismantle one as well as to heal one to the point he can keep a flayed half corpse alive and fully conscious for interrogation. He is also an expert at concocting cures or poisons as diverse as deadly, and by hitting specific pressure points through acupuncture, he can trigger certain reactions from his target’s organism, such as numbness and even paralysis, though how lasting and potent it is depends on is target’s constitution and other factors.

Presence Concealement: As an assassin, Ito exhibits an unnatural proficiency at hiding his own presence, a skill, that through training grew into something that borderlined the realm of the supernatural. He can nearly stop all signs of his presence, his perspiration, his heartbeat and even his aura (though he is unaware of that fact, it is just a subconscious thing,).

He needs to be very calm throughout this state, and those with keen senses might spot him if he’s too close, but he can hide his presence tremendously well from those around him as long as they do not search him, and even then it can be very hard to spot him if he hides.

Equipment:

Automail: No one knows why or how the legendary assassin lost his left arm. Perhaps the gods punished him for his cruelty and arrogance, or he had been blinded by ego and received a crippling wound. The thing about dead men is that they are silent.

Either way, he had his arm replaced with a mechanized counterpart, an expertly crafted piece of mechanic machinery that could act as precisely and strike as mightily as his original arm. It has hidden compartments for his needles, strings, smoke bombs and poison.

Smoke bombs: Self explanatory.

Poison/Medicine: Enough to cripple/kill/paralyze an ordinary men, but those with higher constitution could shake off the effects or at least suffer reduced afflictions. He also carries some medicine for different ailments and painkillers.

Metal needles: Needles Kizumi expertly uses in combat. Sharp and sturdy, they can easily pierce through bone and reach vital organs when thrown with his skill, and are small enough to remain unseen to the mundane eye.

Razor threads: Transparent razor wired threads, they boast great sturdiness and can support a man's weight with relative ease. These strings can be used in a near infinite myriad of ways, from restraining a target, creating platforms to enhance his mobility, use them in tandem with his needles for deadly traps or many other uses.

Origin:

Legends speak of a ruthless ninja, Ito Kizumi, who slayed over a hundred government heads and his entire clan in his lifetime. While his tale was distorted over the ages, it goes as follows.

No one knows much of his childhood, whether he was born from a house of demons or of a clan of nobles employed by the shogunate to deal with its rivals, one thing is consistent. Kizumi was trained to be an assassin since his earliest age, chosen by his clan to become successor of the family’s secret techniques.

Training to the utmost limits reason can allow, he reached a level of skill far greater than anyone could dream of, transcending the limits of his own body through what could only be described as living hell.

However, while a sword or a weapon can hold the power to slay countries and never dare to point towards its wielder, men are of a different breed. They say that with time, the ninja grew more and more arrogant and bloodthirsty, his leash rusted and eventually fell off.

As the legends say, itching to prove his superiority, he challenged his father in a duel and won with ease, slaying him in front of his 27 sons. But Kizumi’s brothers, who swore to avenge their father, did not forgive such an act.

By the time he was 16, the assassin was wanted by the police state for countless kills, and was now the target of a massive manhunt.

But he was not one who would be caught easily, welcoming challengers with open arms, he killed, killed and killed again, destroying all those who stood in his way to the top. But sadly, all things come to an end.

After ten years of bloodshed, something changed him. After his 101th kill, Kizumi simply gave up.

No one knows why he threw away his title of assassin, but one thing was certain. The 100 demon house slayer “Hito Kiri” Kizumi simply stopped killing, never to be found again. Hundreds searched for him throughout japan, but all returned empty handed. At least, that is what the legends say.

Thus, he left the title of legendary killer empty ever since, and soon he would leave the face of the earth as well. However, that was another story for another time.

Weakness:

His weapons being mundane, it is possible to defend against them, projectiles thrown by him are deflectable or outright blockable by tougher opponents. That also means magic is good against him, wink wink.

Fighting him in a constricted terrain where he cannot move freely or an empty landscape in broad daylight where he cannot conceal himself puts him on a disadvantage. Because he dislikes conflict and standing out, forcing him into a fight where there are many witnesses/possible casualties will put him in a tight spot.

Likes: Valorous people, simple things, the thrill of challenge, kind hearted women, hard workers, peace and quiet, families, honing his skill.

Dislikes: Killing, dogma, cruelty, those without a shred of honor or dignity towards others (not related to combat), arrogance, those who talk too much.

The demon's eyes widened when he saw the aura converge into the man. Man? He was completely overtaken by the surprise when he(?) changed his shape and became a girl. And not just any girl, but a cute girl!

"N-no! I, erm... why, this is... amazing!" He blurted out, unable to hide the fainr blush. Even for an ancient demon like him, this was a first! He didn't really know what to say or how to react. Blushing, he managed to say the first thing that came to mind. "So, are you an old man or a lady?"

RED

"I can? Really!?" She beamed and took the fluffy little thing and pet it, scratching the back of its head and behind its ears. It was strange, but she was kinda feeling better now.

"So, whatchu doing?" She asked the two with a cheerful tone. "You're not lost are you?"

Vanguard

Vanguard smiled and gave the knight a departing glance before focusing back on Sakura. His cheek resting on his hand, he allowed himself to toy with the fork before him as he spoke.

"Not really. You've managed to protect your little world all this time, and even in a place like this you have found a little happiness to cherish. Compared to grand tales of heroism or adventure, a dull mundane tale like yours seems much more interesting. It's quite enviable really."

Lorenzo

"Nice!" He gasped, this was just perfect. "Can you put people in there too? Like, me for example? I might just have an idea..." He chuckled like an evil mastermind.

Engetsu raised an ear at the monk's words. If he was trying to get an audience, he most certainly had the skill. "I don't see why not!" He answered jovially. "After all, it's only fair. I show you mine you show me yours, that's how humans usually work isn't it?"

Costin

"Aww. You're really nice, you know that?" She said with a cheerful grin. Honestly, she was kind of glad she didn't manage to kill her, it would have been a real shame. "And I'll keep that in mind. Or, uh, maybe not! You'd think that might be counter productive, huh."

Thinking a little, she frowned for a second when the realization dawned upon her. Shoot, the offer was convenient, but at the same time this just wouldn't do.

"Mhh, you know what, no point in hassling ourselves getting ingredients. It's a new home, so we might as well just order something. Cool with you?"

3162
Engetsu

"Uh, you couldn't tell?" He blinked in surprise. He'd think a monk with an aura as impressive as his could at least tell that much, but it seemed it wasn't the case. Oh well, he might as well show him. He took the sword and scabbard on his back and presented the sheathed blade to the monk.

The first thing that came to mind when looking at it was its impressive length. It looked more like a nodachi than a katana, and tall enough for someone to joke about it being a drying pole. Its wooden ornate scabbard boasted a beautiful pattern of violet and blue. Sealed, it kept its energy contained, but there was no mistaking the distinct aura that came from the blade within.

Nor was there mistaking the beauty of the sword itself, even while it was sheathed it was evident that this was a noble blade.

"I guess I am what you'd call a sword." He answered casually.  "Sorry if this appearance looks a bit deceiving, it's surprisingly hard to get from place to place without legs. And no touching, i'm actually quite sensitive."

RED

The girl looked down as if conflicted for a second, or maybe she just wasn't sure what to do. She wasn't exactly used at people talking to her like this, but she guessed it felt nice. She shouldn't think so much on the past.

Beaming from ear to ear, she handed the three her hand in order to perform the ancient rite known as hand shaking. "I'm Red, it's nice to meet you!"

Vanguard

"Oh, terrible. These past few months have been the worst I have lived in my entire life, and I don't know if that says more about this city or myself." He answered casually, to the point it sounded like an unbelievable jest.

"Well, I did manage to provide myself with this body though, so I suppose it wasn't a total waste." He opened the palm of his hand and took some time to observe his arm, or perhaps he was drawing attention to it in order to show off.

"But enough about me. You know, I've talked so much about myself, it almost makes me feel vain. And yet, I barely know anything about you. Surely you've been up to some interesting things, mhhh?"

Costin

Costin wasn't sure what to think or say, but for a moment her face brightened up when Jasey talked with some Forest girl in order to find a place to stay. Then, she managed to overhear the stranger's condition, and her eyes drooped and she looked down sadly, like a puppy who had just been kicked.

"Aww."

After the groceries had been taken care of, the demon took the liberty to show the monk around a bit, getting him familiar with the different locations in the district. The two were taking a pleasant walk when suddenly, he had a thought. His ears perked a bit when he glanced at the monk, and he couldn't help but be curious himself.

"So, what brought you here?"

After he had finished cooking the meal, the three set the table and feasted on the great dinner. However, despite his hard work, he found that while the meal was quite succulent, he could not find as much appetite as the others. He tried to finish his portion, but in the end he found that while they could eagerly go for seconds and thirds, he simply couldn't take another bite.

"That was an adequate meal." He said with a grateful smile, trying to ease the tension he was feeling.

"I must say, the decor for this kitchen is quite exquisite. It is a shame your sister couldn't join us though. Is she doing well?"
