"Do you want to return to that?" She looked at him.  "Free of the responsibility of your king?  Free to do whatever you wish with whoever you wished at your side?"

Forest felt an irrational surge of glee when Taro straightened her hair and leaned her head into the gentle caress.

They were quiet as he walked her down the alley, his fingers intertwined with hers again.  She blinked as they came upon an old construction sight with a tree and a patch of grass, as if the work had been abandoned at that point.  There was also a small house, and it was oddly quiet here.

"Your Fortress of Solitude."  She studied it and then looked at him.  "When the office gets too much you come here?"

Forest pouted against Taro's finger as he blocked her, smiling down at her.

Then her eyes widened as he spoke of the little girl.  So she let herself down (her toes were starting to cramp anyway) and straightened her hair.  "Sorry . . . . It was . . ."

She shook her head and met his eyes again.  "So where did you want to take me?"

He knows this dance, she thought with a smile as their movements flowed into one and another.  It was almost eerie how much they were in synch with each other in the dance parodying battle.  Her cheeks flushed as he pulled her to his chest.

She looked up at him as he smiled down at her.

She stood en pointe to press a kiss to his lips.

"You want to see my warrior spirit . . ."  Forest tapped the remote idly against her lips as she thought.

She looked through the playlist again before choosing a song.  When the beat started, she grabbed Taro's hand.  Then she proceeded to turn a series of katas into dance moves that would show her warrior spirit.

Forest caught the remote and gently tapped Taro's nose with it.

"If I had a violin, I'd play you something."

She fiddled with the control for a moment before her eyes met his.  "Your lack of Maiden is disturbing."

This song was popular like four decades ago where I'm from, Forest sent back to him. 

Even though she had room to talk.  The best Iron Maiden song was from that era as well.  He was smiling at her though as he surprised her with a twirl, spinning her out of his arms and then back.  She rocked with him, resting against his chest.

"It is catchy."

"So old, but not immortal, got it.  Eventually, humans do need to retire.  Their bodies can only handle so much," the blonde said with a nod.

Then he took her to the alley she kept seeing in his mind.  The one where he had met that young girl who's life ended in tragedy anyway.  She did tilt her head at the speaker and did start laughing when Michael Jackson started playing.

He took her into his arms, pulling her close and staring intently into her eyes as his hand traveled to her lower back.  She tilted her head and looked at him.  She smothered the urge to laugh.  He wasn't being coy or insulting.  "I'll dance because she cannot," she replied before whispering in his mind.

We do need to talk about your taste in music though.

"Well, power corrupts, and it's sort of human nature to want to conquer and what not."  Forest sighed, her shoulders feeling suddenly very heavy.  Taro was holding her hand as they looked at house together.  She felt a pang of envy at the couple who lived there.  They had everything she wanted, and they still chose to be right assholes about it.

Forest blinked at the images flickering from Taro's mind, something more coherent than his usual ADHD addled jumble.

She shook his head and said, "No, I haven't heard of Yamada.  Want to tell me about him?"

"Okay, so we visit Halloween Town after . . .Wait, there's a Halloween Town?"

Forest's eyes gleamed and a smile grew across her face as she saw a place with thousands upon thousands of Jack-o-Lanterns lit and flickering in Autumn night. 

She held his hand and tilted her head at his question.  "Of course," she said with a smile, deciding not to tease him at the tone of his voice.

Emiya shook his head and said, "I know you have a crazy amount of Mana.  That's not what I was questioning.  The mana's only part of the equation.  A Servant can be given a ton of mana, but without a Master, or being incarnated like I am now or like Goldy was by the Grail, the World will eventually crush their existence.  If they are bonded to something that was there, like their Master, the World considers them acceptable and lets them continue to exist."

He flicked her forehead with a whisper soft touch.  "You were a Grail, you know."
