She nodded at that, in thought for a bit. "Mental effects are... lackluster usually. Would the binding be physical then? They would have to be quite impressive in that case, what is the process you use to give yourself these eyes?"

Olga Marie

"Mine are a powerful mental effect, but I also have a physical bind as well with my pebbles. I'm planning on modifying my other eye to do something else later. And I don't think there's a reason you couldn't put something physical in the eyes, or at least a reason it couldn't exist. Petrification eyes literally turn people to stone just by looking, and I've even heard of some eyes that can outright kill anything just by glaring."

Olga felt a bit sheepish at her eyes being called lackluster. They had their place.

Joe

The guy at the counter raised his eyebrow at Joe's strange comment.  "Weren't you the guy who came here the other day, thinking about a membership?" he asked, giving a not so subtle glance at Sakura.  "Is that what changed your mind?"

Joe's face flashed red for a moment.  He rushed to the counter in a frantic effort to confront the clerk guy.  "Yeah actually," Joe said, confronting his deadpan snark with a friendly smile.  "I think both me and my friend here would benefit from a membership!"

Sakura Matou

Sakura nodded, and waited to see if Joe wanted to buy both of them. She'd rather do it herself but this was his whole big thing and she didn't want to steal it from him.

"Hmm, I assume those are magical effects that do not require any incantation or motion as they are tied to your eyes? Presumably some mix of magical alteration or some sort of supernatural lineage." It wasn't that unheard of, even if she hadn't seen it herself. Trying to work around the limitations of mages using the inherently magical nature of certain beasts as an example.

Olga Marie

Olga nodded. "Yes, you're basically correct. You modify your eyes to have a specific magical effect you can activate by simply looking at somebody. There are some truly powerful ones, such as the mystic eyes of death perception, of the rainbow, and of petrification. I tried to obtain the eyes of rainbow myself at one point, but failed." Olga sounded like this was a deep regret of hers. "More common ones would include basic charm, binding, elemental or enchantment spells, which are more common. I possess some very high level eyes of binding."

Elizabeth

Elizabeth's magic continued to eat into Engetsu's mind, inserting new, ever more obscene thoughts into his head. Stuff like "I want to strip her naked now and take her" or "I want her to step all over me." It'd be interesting to see which he went with. Meanwhile, Elizabeth subtley cast a spell on the girl he was now flirting with, inserting a gentle feeling of attraction into her head.

"So what next?" Elizabeth asked Lucy, her tail waving behind her erratically. She'd just sensed something magical in her presence. It felt like a familiar was nearby.

Oka

Oka nodded. "Yeah I can't fight, I command my pokemon into battle." Oka explained to Breeze before turning to Van. "That should be fine, right?" She was scanning and reading every small thing, looking for anything dangerous.

Elizabeth

Elizabeth was thoroughly disappointed. She shook her head in sadness before  turning Lucy around so she could kiss her. If this girl wasn't going to even say anything at all, maybe she'd just leave. She didn't want to overplay her hand. But not before one last attempt! She cast a spell on the man sipping tea next to her, making him intensely attracted to her. He'd want to make her his own, to hold her, to fondle her. Kiss her. Feed her.

Elizabeth leaned forward and gave Lucy a deep french kiss, raping her mouth with her powerful tongue.

Grigori

It had taken several hours, but there had finally been an effort that Grigori had deemed adequate. Despite all that effort, the barrier was just on a level similar to that Olga could create by herself. "Good. That should be enough for now. Prolonging this any longer would just lead to a decrease in your performance. But you've done well so far."

Olga Marie

Olga sighed and collapsed onto the floor. She felt dead. She was so fucking tired she wanted to vomit. Keeping up at that level of concentration wasn't easy, even while reinforcing herself.

Still, she had a vibrant smile on her face, full of accomplishment. She felt like this was going to propel her to new, untold heights. Being able to do a barrier like that with only a bit of practice surely was evidence of her tremendous talent. The girl chuckled a bit. "Thank you." She said to Grigori quietly. "Do you want to know anything about my system? Mystic eyes are pretty useful."

Joe

Joe looked back at her, giving her an excited smile, brimming with anticipation.  "I told you, its a secret!"

Of course, he couldn't hide the actual building once they arrived.  It was an enormous building, surrounded by tennis and basket ball courts.  In the back of the building, there was a small soccer field surrounded by a track.  Once they entered the front door, they were greeted by a pretty young woman sitting behind a desk that cut them off from the rest of the building.  They would have to sign in to get through.

"Tah da!  This is a special place where I can reign supreme!  Once this is done, you will have something only I can give you!"

That wasn't entirely true.  This was something she could give herself easily, if she really wanted to.

Sakura

Sakura nodded excitedly. "Yeah! Thanks, Joe!" She smiled warmly at him, and sent a mental command to her bugs, sending them to create a perimeter and set up detection fields all around the building, layering them thick and making sure she was safe. Her hornets flew overhead, cloaked from mundane observation with a simple spell.

Orianna

She nodded stiffly, her eyes cold as she looked over the smaller doll. "Yes, you should be capable of at least that much. If you are so lost you can't find your way out you may follow us back to the city, but you are expected at my master's shop as soon as possible."

Orianna turned and began to walk away after that her movements a touch more mechanical than usual.

Grigori

"No, you have to be more detailed, synergistic. The runes have to each build off each other to define the nature of the barrier, down to the most basic applications." This was going to take a little time. Even a prodigy would need to work at learning ruins from scratch, and it wasn't as if they were pressed for it. Grigori could be patient.

Olga Marie

"Mmmmm." Olga nodded at Grigori's advice, erasing her second attempt and starting it over. She swapped out two of the runs, moved a few others around, and tried it again. A slightly better result. But nowhere near good enough. Olga shook her head, and continued drawing.

Olga nodded. Learning the alphabet would be the easiest, and quite possibly only easy, part of this. Olga was actively listening, nodding and murmering to herself about Grigori's lecture. "Alright. Barriers." It felt weird thinking of them as all easy. Grigori was probably talking about a specific type. Olga made sure to banish all thoughts of her own magival knowledge away from her mind, and to only think in terms of the alphabet she'd just learned. To feel it. She sat down and closed her eyes, imagining each one and mentally putting them together, seeing how it felt. Eventually, after much thinking, Marie began to draw on the ground. She drew a basic magic circle, and began writing the runes in it. Finally, she infused it with her mana, and it flashed weakly. The girl made a face, clearly not pleased with her result. She turned and began a second one immediately, trying out a different combination.

Olga Marie

"I see..." Marie looked at them with utter concentration, taking several minutes to carefully study them and memorize their exact shape and form, occasionally stopping to practice it herself. As a practitioner of rune magic, this sort of task was nothing new to her, and she quickly memorized them. She drew them all in the air with her own magic, taking care not to look at Grigori's example as she did so.

"How are these?" She asked when she was satisfied with her efforts.

3837
Olga Marie

"Well, the basics, I guess. Your magic seems to work with an utterly different system than mine, so I guess I'll have to start at the very beginning. Unless that's just manipulating mana. You mentioned something about an Alphabet right?" Olga jumped right in, full of energy.

Olga Marie

Olga's face instantly broke out into a big smile. All her built up stress had gone away, the only thing she was feeling right now was happiness. "Of course! Whatever you say goes!" Olga exclaimed. Her eyes were almost twinkling.

3839
Olga Marie

Olga didn't hesitate. There was no reason to hide it. "Of course not. I want to learn as much as I can from you-that's actually part of why I've been practicing so hard." Her face was a bit flushed from the praise she'd been given. "I was wondering if you'd-take me as an apprentice. I'm not asking this for nothing of course, and I know-I'm not as good as you but-I'd teach you whatever you wanted about how mine works in exchange." She sounded extremely excited at the prospect, almost to the point of desperation. It was so close she could almost touch it. She could feel it!

Elizabeth

A loudmouth huh. That was boring. Elizabeth hoped she at least would have a bit of bite to back up her bark. She'd give the girl a 7 for her entrance but a 3 for everything since then. "So how do they feel, no problems right?" Elizabeth asked Lucy teasingly. Suddenly, as the new obnoxious girl attempted to eat her cake, her fork kept mysteriously missing the plate, stabbing at the table or the air. She hoped her reaction would be entertaining.
