Kaze

“Well, it’s good to see that you’re making the best of your situation despite what may have happened in the past,” Kaze said to Sakura once she was finished. “And it looks like I may be in a situation similar to yours,” he says to Shirou. “I’m not exactly very impressive when it comes to using my blessings, compared to my fellow Scions. And since I’ve only found out recently about my nature, I can only use what she gave me... or he, depending on her mood,” Kaze says with a nostalgic grin.

Name: Miyuki Sekai

Race: Planar

Age: 15

Height: 172cm

Weight: 57kg

Appearance:

Spoiler for Hiden:

Physical Attributes:

Strength: Human

Agility: Scales to Opponent

Durability: Human

Other Abilities:

Pocket Dimension: Miyuki is the physical manifestation of an entire sentient dimension. As such, she has absolute control over it no matter where she is, and has an innate sense for whatever is happening inside of it. Miyuki can create circular portals with a 0.5m to 4m radius at an arm’s length from herself from reality into her Pocket Dimension. If she is inside her pocket dimension, she can create a portal out to anywhere in the Nexus she has been before. So long as anyone except herself is inside the pocket dimension, she must keep at least one portal open to a constant location until they leave. She can hide it and pull people away from it, but it cannot be outright inaccessible. Instead of a freestanding portal, she can put such pathways an existing closable openings such as a doorway. She can only maintain three sets of two-way portals, but the first two that she places into existing openings do not count towards this, allowing her up to five. Someone cannot go through a portal unless they willingly move through it. They don’t have to know it’s a portal, but they do have to go through of their own volition.

The dimension is effectively her real “body,” and she can exert control over it easily. She can change the environment to anything that could occur naturally on a mundane earth, and add or remove features in the environment that may or may not be man-made but are still mundane. Plant life can be added, but no animals.

Features of the environment can be moved around with varying speeds. A quantity of material that a character with Human strength and durability could survive an impact from, break through, and lift can be moved at Legendary speeds. For every Rank above that in durability, force, and/or total weight, the maximum speed at which they can be moved decreases by one Rank. So long as it fits through the gap, Miyuki can throw things through a portal, but it will fade into nothingness a second after leaving her pocket dimension.

Absolute Sense: Being her own dimension, Miyuki has the senses to keep track of all of herself, and anything of similar size. Miyuki could see the design of a flag planted on the moon from the earth’s surface and hear the sound of a pin drop on the other side of Nexus. She can hear frequencies well out of the ranges of any living being and see radiation all the way from radio waves to gamma radiation. Since this is a natural ability of hers, it doesn’t cause any more sensory overload than it would for a human with normal senses.

Planar “Physiology:” Miyuki does not die from aging, and past the end of her puberty her body will cease to age. Mind control and emotional manipulation kind of just don’t work on her. Additionally, well, she kinda just doesn’t die, period. She can’t experience illness and starvation or dehydration simply leave her without enough energy to move. When a human would “die” due to injuries, Miyuki can simply get up, spend a night in her inner realm and come back unscathed. If her body is completely destroyed, she can build a new one over the course of about a week. However, if she is killed by someone, she is repulsed by them instinctually, and after being killed multiple times by the same person nothing can stop her from leaving the area the moment they show up.

Equipment: A Cell Phone with her favorite playlist on it, and a part time job adequate enough to pay for food and other necessities. Other than that, not a whole lot.

Origin: Miyuki actually grew up normally thinking she was human, a luxury most Planars aren’t afforded. If you’re wondering how a literal dimension can think they are a single person, Planars don’t instinctively know that their inner realm is an actual place rather than just a recurring daydream, or that their enhanced senses are anything special. And they can never open any portals to that realm if they don’t think it’s real. Anyway, Miyuki only really found out about her nature about a month before getting stuck in the Nexus, in which a rather unstable Elder Planar opened a portal to the Nexus and tossed her through. Now she just kinda kept going, luckily there was a high school in the Nexus that she could get herself registered for.

Weakness: She can’t really fight; she does know some basic evasion techniques but she never really learned how to swing back. She doesn’t fight so much as she just runs around and throws cars out of portals. Yes, cars. Why the hell not?

Likes: Music, Cities, Nature, Anime, People, Rain

Dislikes: Elders, Acting like anything more than human, Bullies, Mandatory Participation

Sakura and Shirou

"Yes, this place doesn't seem to have any consistent rules for how things work", Sakura replied. "As far as I can tell, it seems like everyone just follows the rules of the world they came from. Certainly neither of us have noticed anything different in our magic since we arrived."

Shirou, meanwhile, looked at the man quizzically.

"So, how did you obtain your power? Were you born with it, or did you receive it later in life? And, how do you use it?" he replied, anxious to find out more about the man and determine whether he was a potential ally or a potential enemy.

Kaze

“Well, I was born with it, but I didn’t actually know that until a couple of years ago. Apparently it was to make sure I was mature enough to handle it. It came with a bit of social baggage because I wasn’t really the only one to find out about my abilities. I traveled to see more of the world I didn’t know about, and I found out that a lot of people seek the help of the one who blessed me.” Kaze chuckles and adds, “Well, who would I be if I hadn’t expressed my gratitude for such a blessing by helping them for her?”

Gingalain

“Considering the fact that it’s pretty hard to get to this place, I can imagine that most of it isn’t an overflowing tourist trap, but then again, how does a casino stay in business in such a small community...?”

The knight’s mind wandered as she was being dragged towards the very attractions themselves, even though her questions would probably be answered anyway once she saw them.

Charlotte

Alright, guess we really are treading new ground here.

"Guess the view isn't too bad," Charlotte admitted, stepping back once the catgirl was on her feet, " 'Specially in a city like this. From what I've heard though, they've got all sorts of things up here. Good food, music, casinos, among other entertainments. Suppose we're in the same boat if you've never looked around for yourself, then. Whaddya say we do something about that?"

Gingalain

Gingalain considered this offer for a moment. This woman to some degree appeared to know how to fight, based on the pistols. The Knight could respect some talent in that field. And she did kinda fall on her, which was a bit too awkward to just walk away from.

“Alright, but you’re paying. You did fall on me, after all.”

Charlotte

"Le Bel, then," the gunslinger nodded, "And if ya decide Charlotte's a mouthful, I won't mind."

With that, the blonde popped back up to her feet, walking over to the knight and offering a hand, "So what brings ya 'round here, anyway? I'm looking for a bit 'a fun, myself."

Gingalain

Gingalain politely accepted the hand long enough to pull herself up. "I've taken a liking to the view, and now I'm in the habit of coming here frequently."

She looks around with a bit curiosity in her expression. "Though, to be perfectly honest, I haven't actually bothered to find out what's inside most of these buildings."

Charlotte

The gunslinger cocked an eyebrow at the variety of titles, most of them sailing right over her head for all they mattered to her.

I would end up finding the catgirl that's also a knight. Ah well.

"How about Ging? Or Gin? Gingalain rolls off the tongue weird, ya see. No offense," the cowgirl said after a few moments,

Gingalain

The half-Fae rolled her eyes. No one outside the Fairy Kingdom had enough respect for titles to bother saying her cumbersome name. She shouldn’t be bothered by it anymore, but she at least learned to expect it. “I go by ‘Le Bel’ too. Or ‘Inconnu.’ Your choice.”

The gunslinger shuffled up to a sitting position as well, shooting the catgirl a wry grin in turn, unconcerned with the fate of the hang glider.

"Can't skip any lessons ya didn't take," Charlotte shot back with a chuckle, straightening her hat and sparing a glance down to make sure her guns and hip-flask were still in place, " 'Sides, I can't say that ended up bein' all that bad. Bit of a rush, too. Name's Charlotte, what's yours?"

Gingalain

The knight pushed her sacred swords back into their scabbards fully, since they had started to slip out. "I suppose the answer is 'all of them,' then," she said with a chuckle.

She then moved to a kneeling position and a began listing her titles. "Sir Le Bel Inconnu, Knight of the Round Table, Daughter of Sir Gawain and Lady Blanchemal, Sister to King Gliglois, at your service." Gingalain returned to a more comfortable sitting position, and added, "You may call me Gingalain."

Sakura and Shirou

Quickly understanding the meaning of the man's gesture, Sakura took a seat on the bench and, soon after, Shirou joined her, sitting in between his beloved and the strange but seemingly-nice man.

On hearing his question, the two of them considered it for a few moments, Sakura looking in Shirou's direction for guidance as she did so, but he quickly decided that there was no harm in explaining at least the basics of their situation to him. After all, it's not like it would give away anything important.

"OK, sure, I guess we can do that", Shirou responded.

"So, do you want to start first, or should we?" Sakura added.

Kaze

"I suppose that I can start, since I was the one to ask. Where I come from, a lot more people believed in some kind of god. There, many things would happen that science just couldn't explain. Here it seems that science has been thrown out the window entirely as a source of credible explanations." Kaze chuckled. "There aren't really any rules that say how things like physics and magic work here. I came from a World where people like me are called Scions, and one way or another we received a blessing of power. Some of us were born with it, others created with it, a few chosen to receive it, and the occasional living reflection of those who bless us."

Charlotte

It didn't take long for her to make her money back, and from there it was a steady stream of quiet wins and dramatic losses until she wound up walking out with a healthy sum in her pockets. Some more of it went to the bank, but there was a bigger prize to be had. Namely, the small floating city they called New Vegas. Plenty of games to be had up there, and it was an actual steam punk city for crying out loud. Not something you saw every day, that's for certain.

Either way, she'd managed to get her hands on the registration needed for newcomers to the floating city, so now it was just a matter of getting up there. The gunslinger was sure she could make do with a well-placed roof-top and recoil blasts, but that sounded like it would be rather boring. Not to mention far too...mundane.

So, with that in mind, Charlotte used some of her winnings to buy a small hang glider, and proceeded to plan out a quick route along some rooftops. The city had dipped a bit lower than usual, though she was certain the plan could've worked without that bit of help, not that she was about to ignore the opportunity. With her route planned, Charlotte grabbed onto glider with one hand, and drew Willy Pete with the other, opening fire on the rooftops she'd selected with incendiary rounds before launching off of the roof she'd picked as her starting point. The fires she set provided with the lift she needed, each round of circling up feeding into the next, until she was finally high enough, the wind rushing through her hair and raising goosebumps as the speed she picked up throughout her not-quite flight built up.

Then she was high enough to get onto the city and realized she'd neglected to include a landing plan.

Welp, good thing I didn't rent the glider.

And now there was a cute catgirl in the way of her landing. With the glider's weight, landing on the catgirl wasn't the best idea, but she was quickly running out of options. That said, there were worse places to land than on top of a cute catgirl.

The gunslinger moved quickly, twisting in the air to toss the glider away before drawing both pistols and firing off one last recoil blast to slow her down just enough for what she had in mind. "Heads up!" was all she had time to call out before impact, the blonde bracing herself.

Gingalain

Unfortunately for the cute catgirl in question, there was enough ambient noise in the middle of New Vegas that she didn’t figure out where the noise was coming from in time to dodge. Charlotte came crashing down in to Gingalain, and she ended up putting a new crack in the pavement from putting her hand out to break her own fall. She was at least a softer surface to crash into than the ground. Gingalain also just barely dodged the now-bent-up hang glider crashing into the ground a few moments after Charlotte rolled off of her. Gingalain pushes herself up into a sitting position. “How many hang gliding lessons did you skip?” She asked, an ever so slight smile of amusement on her face.

Sakura and Shirou

The two of them nodded in response to his display.

"Yeah", Sakura responded, "it most likely isn't. I couldn't sense any prana coming from you when you did that."

"Although", Shirou added, "our magic isn't really all that typical even for our own world."

"Especially Senpai's", Sakura added, proudly. "His magic is really special."

Kaze

Kaze sat up and moved over to one side of the bench as a wordless invitation for the pair to sit next to him. "It's always nice to feel unique. Where I come from, there are so many people like me that it's easy to forget what actually makes me different from the rest of them. Then again, it's a little easier that way to bond with people over what we have in common." Kaze smiled as he decided to maintain the light breeze that was fading now that he was done reverting the weather back to normal. "If there's one thing this city's got in spades, it's stories to share. Would you care to join me in doing just that?"

A lone cat walked through the streets of the Nexus, for the most part not taken notice of by the general crowds. She liked it that way, at least for the time being. There were times when she liked to be seen; now was not one of them. After going down an alley and making her way up to the top of a building, she saw the familiar flying district drifting across the Nexus. A short hop later, she found herself rocketed onto the edge of the flying behemoth faster than most people could even see. And then she continued to walk the floating streets, noticing a few more new faces than usual. They didn’t look too happy; she wondered what had happened to them.

Sakura and Shirou

Sakura smiled, his response obviously indicating that he was indeed responsible for the rain, which soon after began to stop. Recognising the man's clear good intentions, Sakura responded politely.

"Thank you", she said with a kind smile. "I don't really mind the rain that much, but it's good of you to take our feelings into consideration."

Then, Shirou spoke up.

"How do you do that, anyway?" he said. "I assume you have some kind of magical ability."

Kaze

“To a certain extent, you assume correctly. Though it’s probably not the same kind of magic you use, knowing how this city works.” Kaze lofted one of his hands, and a little bit of electricity danced across his fingers for a moment. “Neither or you smell like the kinds I know of, at the very least.”

Mothra:

There was a body right by where she landed. The corpse was lying right at the edge of the crumbling infrastructure. Male, probably in his thirties. Everything below his waist was gone, probably ash mixed with the dust she blew away a minute or so prior. The rest of him was in this bizarre, mummified state; the dehydrated skin taking the same ashen gray as the dust outside. Mothra stepped over the corpse without missing a beat, not out of callousness but pragmatism. The building could go at any moment, and the living were far more important than the dead.

The building groaned, but Mothra heard panicked voices just beyond a door. The mahou kaiju promptly ripped it off from the hinges, revealing a dust-filled hallway crowded with people pushing and shoving each other in their stampede to the stairwell. The building groaned again, and with it came a loud crashing sound followed by screaming and even more dust: Half of the hallway collapsed in on itself, further escalating the situation.

The stairs are now blocked, the remaining dozen-or-so tenants are borderline hysterical, and time was almost out. Mothra couldn't help but grimace at the worsening situation, but she most certainly will not abandon them to their fate - Even if she has to personally airlift them out. In fact..."THIS WAY!" she yelled above the commotion, trying to get evverybody into the apartment she came from, "THIS WAY!"

Acarestus

He was wasting his time; he could hear the building collapsing on the inside. His Thorns would hold up the rest of it without him. He allowed the Thorns around his legs to fall slack just enough to free his legs, promptly jumping into the building to follow Mothra. The remaining tenants were panicking and Mothra seemed unsuccessfully to be trying to direct them away from the stairwell. Acarestus promptly turned to the nearest door, squared up his aim, and sent the door flying off its hinges with a kick. The door flew across the empty room and smashed open the large window on the other side, sending the door to fall into the pitiful, barren ground outside.

Acarestus then ran over to the smashed window and kicked out chunks of the wall under the window frame to clear away the broken glass, impaling several Thorns into the floor and letting them hang over the edge outside. He went back to the group of tenants and gave Mothra a knowing look in the eyes, trusting her to handle the situation well, as he picked up a couple of the tenants, wrapped parts of his Thorns around their waists, and allowed them to be lowered to the ground on the outside of the building.

Acarestus

The Challenger sighed. It was worse than he thought. The Mahou Kaiju went to deal with a building on the verge of collapse. She would need help getting people out of there... Time... how can I buy her more time? Acarestus thought as he caused his Thorn, now the length of the building, to snap into a straight, rigid state, except for the middle. He swing it so that both sharp ends were in his hand, turned it over, and proceeded to wrap each end around his legs, turning it into a giant pair of stilts.

After landing on the ground on his massive stilts, he strode over to the same building Mothra went to in a few steps, and then stuck the points deep into the tainted ground for firm footing. He then proceeded to create several Thorns and throw them just under what looked to be the weakest parts of the building, willing them to extend upwards and hold ceilings up after landing in their rigid states to offer some rudimentary reinforcement to the doomed building. Acarestus then manifested one final Thorn in his hands, prepared to catch anything he thought looked like was about to fall.
