Valerie

"You are right...."

The continuation of her sentence was as swift as she was brutal, because just as Aerin had turned around to face her, the Vampire King's foot met her face and launched her through the nearest window.

"And that is why you go first. Now, who would like to go next?" She addressed the crowd of Elves with a jovial tone as if she hadn't just kicked someone out through the window. "If you would be so kind to come all once I would greatly appreciate it. I do so hope at least one of you is worthy of my time."

She couldn't wait to sink her fangs into some prime elven meat. Ah the nostalgia. She oh so hoped some brave warrior would step up and try to put her in her place, those truly were the fun ones. Idril had been like that before she claimed her.

Valerie's Lesson

The bloodstains on Valerie's footwear were obvious to those who looked once she finished knocking the redheaded commoner through a window like that. It spoke well of them that despite the outrageous brutality the vampiric monarch had displayed they came at her with a semblance of discipline, all hard-eyed stares and unsettling silence while they surrounded her from all directions in rows with whatever weaponry they could have at the ready. There were just enough gaps between them that missed attacks wouldn't hurt their comrades, and where most opponents trying to weave their way through them would just leave themselves open to opportunism.

It also gave time for the ones up on the higher levels to start singing.

Idril

Idril was bare as the day she was born, all scarred tan muscle and intrigued smirks until she heard that much. A deep throated chuckle escaped her, and she began to clench her fists in excitement. Long tapered ears twitched. "I made the mistake of challenging her for her bravado and licentious arrogance and found myself... similarly propelled. I was not the only one - just she who got up and tried again."

Thorra

The nude giantish woman rolled over onto her belly like a cat, kicking her legs into the air and resting her chin against balled fists. Electricity crackled through her messy blond hair, unkempt yet perpetually untangled. Even in such a lazy and childish position, she was absolutely stunningly gorgeous.

"Mmhhh? Can't I just wear what I always do? I hate dressing up in those uncomfortable and constraining wrappings when I can avoid it. This body's just a puppet, anyway. Who would want to put a hammer in a dress? It'd be so weird..."

Lirazel

Lirazel shook her head even as her flush grew brighter. "It is very important that nobody can so freely see you except m- ah, that is to say only in the appropriate circumstances." The princess carefully moved about, taking in the hammer and her aforementioned puppet body in the corner of her vision always, and made as if to do something with the covering they had availed themselves of previously. Somewhere along the way she acquired a needle. "You may consider that form to be but a shell, but it is still a part of you others will sing of in praise! I will have them do so for the right reasons."

Speaking of singing, she began to move her needle about through the fabric whilst flitting about the room, collecting bits and pieces of material and widgets as she went along. Her voice began to hum out from within her throat, filling Thorra's ears and causing the linens to begin changing before her eyes. It was a waltz of weaving held before the weapon's eyes alone.

It would be impossible to track time were it not for the passage of the sun's light through the finely colored glass. It was a sight that ended only with Lirazel's dance coming to an end by Thorra's side, and a finished product being dropped upon her head with a triumphant "Hmmph!"

Folainluc

If one could hear the workings of the knight's mind, then the speeding gears that were turning inside would likely compel most people to cover their ears. He still blocked for himself the sight of the pair, but they saw his mouth stretch into a knowing smile in spite of the awe that occupied him.

"I jest, I jest!" Folainluc said, waving his other hand apologetically. "But it's a serious commitment then. Now I really must hear everything! I had given for lost that my lady would ever entangle herself so deeply with anyone until her awaited hero arrived, but fate seems to be smiling today. Ah, I should leave you to compose yourselves, excuse me!"

He started walking backwards to the outside of the forge with a spring to his step.

Lirazel

The princess' eyes shot up at Thorra's brazen behavior beneath their mutual covering, and her fingernail in turn dug its way into her side as if to chastise her for it. It wasn't until Folainluc had left that she let out a soft whine of embarrassment against her companion's shoulder. "You are simply incorrigible, Thorra!" Lirazel began to turn her lovely eyes about their surroundings once again. "Oh, now we must find our garments quickly. Ah, but you wear so little as it is, what else am I to do?"

She stood up in spite of Thorra's embrace and began to make a frantic search somehow look dignified.

"Perhaps you could wear my cloak from before...?"

"Oh hush my lord, even now you're all about taking. I'll show you the pleasure of giving." Lulu answered Liz I'm her mind even as she met Eru's challenging gaze with a smile.

Hannah could feel the sin of pride and lust twisting together inside Eruraviel just before the competitive glint entered her eyes. It left the young demon sorceress whistling, impressive "Think she's gonna take that as a challenge, Lulu. Wish I'd thought to turn my webcam on too." Instead she brought her camera with its phone closer to the two who were furiously coupling on her bed, sealed her closed eye's lid so she wouldn't accidentally open it and disorient herself while she was focused on the one at the end of her tail, and aimed for the best shots she could.

Like Eruraviel trying to break Lulu's hips with that monster. That was definitely going on the highlight reel.

"And playing at being a cat is necessary  to acquire it?" Valerie shook her head mirthfully. If the Dragon wanted to play charades then she would entertain the machinations of the beast. It's not like she would be able to fool anyone important with that form of hers anyways. Right now there was something far more pressing to deal with.

"And no Aerin, this is where the fun begins...." Her smile turned predatory as her fangs made themselves known, with a glinting presence. " I must have gone far too easy on you all last time, I see thar now as sure as the guiding light of Luna. You children thoroughly dissapoint me. Release your passion, what are you waiting for? How am I supposed to step on your balls if you lack any in the first place?"

Sage

"It does not interfere with my efforts." But, seeing that Valerie had quickly lost interest in Sage the false feline took that opportunity to slip silently away to elsewhere. "Although associating further with you may make up the difference!" Well, almost silently.

Valerie's rebuttal would be inevitably drowned out by the sound of the revelers beginning to draw their weapons in concert. But Aerin herself, holding a hand to her chest and scowling in dismay, suddenly raised her hands up high. "Wait! Please, hold." She had placed herself between Valerie and the others - the ones who weren't aiming at the vampire from behind - and turned her pretty young head back and forth to look at them all. "Should we not... wouldn't it be better to take this outside?"

That brought the outraged elves up short. Aerin looked to Valerie herself and asked, "What say you?"

The princess' face flushed a much deeper red between the two of them, especially as she found herself pressed against Thorra beneath their coverings and holding on while she sat up. "E-Entertainment is not the word I would use, Folain! It was nothing so, so casual to speak of in that way, I assure you."

She pulled the linen up more to make sure they were both covered even though her fellow elf was looking away.

"You came all this way for some magical remedy? Would not Columbia or the Campus have been less of a hurdle to visit? This place is not even the center of magical learning, not anymore. Yeah you hear that?"

The blonde vampire turned to face the onlooking crowd, addressing the Elves themselves. "While you squander away your splendors the humans innovate freely and without restraint. They have already long surpassed you in industrial output, and soon even your qualitative advantages will wither away, your nation is falling one way or the other."

Sage

Now every eye that had lingered on the pair shone with a glimmer of disdain, and Valerie saw more than one youth being restrained with a hand to the shoulder by ones who carried themselves more timelessly. Sage paid them no heed of course, not being their intended target, and pressed on.

"There are particular circumstances you are not privy to and which I do not owe you knowledge of. Suffice it to say that they have something that is necessary for me to receive the aid I require." Her eyes were following Valerie's every move, and those of the elves before Valerie too.

Aerin, the forgotten redheaded commoner who had accompanied the trio and guided them to this establishment, stepped forward once more. "I believe I should show you to your intended room now, 'Great Teacher.'" She had a remarkable poker face; the intrigue and uncertainty of before was nowhere in sight.

Lirazel

The sun soared across the sky to alight the passions of those who lay beneath its warmth. The colored glass poured its constellations upon them as they lay in a heap by the forge. Lirazel lay atop another, their mutually long blonde hair pooling like a curtain over exposed skin and a head resting upon a substantial bosom. Her arms wrapped around her, holding tightly while she hummed a soothing refrain to cool their searing nerves. It echoed gently about the great dome.

Her partner's true form was nowhere in sight.

Then her ears twitched at a sound only she could hear, and she grabbed firm hold of a large sheet of linen cloth that had been used to cover materials and drew it over herself and Thorra like a blanket, just in time to witness their guest's bombastic arrival. Her face was pink as Lirazel lifted her resting head up from her comfortable repose to see him. Her eyes were wide. "A-Ah. Folain, I was - not aware you had yet returned to the village!"

He saw them from a rather fetching side profile.

Not a destination she had particularly in mind, but that's what you got for simplistic logic like going for the tallest building around. Wait, was it even in the same district? She wondered if Mira would have objections after all if this was the case.

But this was all idle speculation compared to the issue, or rather challenge at hand. That woman might have been questioning her capabilities to cope with whatever lied behind the doors. She believed in herself, and she'd never shy away from danger, but a little part of her mind rang alarm bells. If she didn't cling to her steadfast taboos about certain things, she might have taken up that one offer from the demon, and who knew what would've happened. And now a large building full of them...

"Do I look like someone who would balk at such warnings?" She put up an air of bravado and didn't openly show her misgivings. Besides, better the devil she expected, and considering how Malicia didn't bother to hide her nature, she had reasons to suspect the denizens of the tower would be as forthcoming about it.

Mira

Mira's face was almost flat with visible disinterest at being here, once they'd landed. She dusted herself off once Malicia let her go, and ran her fingers through her long hair as if she were worried the flight had gotten something caught in it. "No more flyin' places after this, ya?" She gave her demon friend a Look. "The whole point of this is to walk around challenging people and getting challenges, ah can't do that if I'm up in the air."

Then she sighed, and looked again at the door to the tower. "Well, guess there's lunch to look after anyway."

"My encounter with you and your spawn was mere happenstance." A decidedly unfeline huffing sound continued to escape from Sage's decidedly feline nose. "I came to this land with another, who abandoned me to galivant with some manner of physician, in order to seek a remedy for an ailment for one of my spawn. You were simply heading in the direction I wished to go when you arrived after me."

Hannah slowly relaxed as Elizabeth drew her into her soft embrace her nerves began to warm and loosen. The presence of something so inherently iniquitous weighing upon her with something so contrary to its nature called to her, left her unable to deny - 'It's fine.'

So instead she began scooping up the mess lathered upon her barrier with a nearby sake saucer, and made to splash the contents atop the two responsible for it being there in the first place. She made sure to angle her camera so that it looked like the stuff came from nowhere.

'Did you two know each other uh, before the Nexus?'

Hannah

A discomforted shiver shot up Hannah's spine to meet the weight settling into her brain. No matter how many times Elizabeth did that it never settled easy when she hadn't prepared herself. She did her best to push that out of her head, and instead just focused on getting the best shots she could. Of course right when she angled it to go for the money - she flinched.

A curtain of white gooey filth splattered across the invisible barrier between the demon sorceress and the world around her. She gaped in disbelief, and her face went red as she tried not to break down laughing. "H-Holy shit that's a lot. You could put an eye out with that!"

Her tail turned around to catch some footage of the mess, and it was so thick they couldn't see Hannah's face through it.

The cat's hackles were up, hair of great white softness now standing on edge in sharp and predatory readiness as her eyes unblinkingly focused on Valerie and her sudden movements. Everyone around them had frozen up as well, the tension in the air and Valerie's own open display of hostility provoking them to stillness. After a moment Sage let out a huff through her little kitty nose.

"I know nothing of what or whom you speak, or why I would work for anything but my own quest." Her words were slower now, more guarded than before. "Though I commend you for realizing my true nature in the end."

"Whoa!" Hannah tossed her phone to her tail so it could grab hold and get this from a better angle. She closed her left eye, and allowed a similar eye to open in its place somewhere along her tail's length with a wet squelching noise so she could make sure the camera was pointed in the right direction. "I'd call you a quick shot too if I hadn't felt Miss Morningstar here myself already. Take it easy - pace yourself more."

"People keep tellin' me it's crazy big elsewhere - like, goin' to the stars?" Mira kept shouting, of course, because the wind was even louder now that they were moving around up here and not just hovering. "You'd just hit your head 'ere if ya didn't choke first!"

The martial artist didn't dignify that response from the demon with a comeback. She just squeezed harder, and grinned wider when doing so didn't result in broken spines.

She turned first to the other person with them. "I guess you're the new gal, so why not pick? I'm plannin' to hit everywhere in this trip!" She looked back at Malicia next. "And we're walkin' once we get outta the district. You ain't the only one gettin' exercise from this part!"
