Just what was he thinking when he saw her brave on despite all of that? By now, he was used to people enduring his fire, but the way she looked at him felt different. Nostalgic even.

She was raising her fist in earnest, just as he raised his fist in earnest so long ago. For his father, for his mother, and for his fallen comrades and friends, he wouldn't tarnish their honor by holding back any further.

His stance instantly changed to a swordsman's as his skeletal hand gripped his blade's hilt. The flames around him converged around him and intensified tenfold as they focused around his sword in less than a few seconds, and with a masterful slash he released a pillar of fire at on the ground, instantly evaporating all the surrounding frost.

The roof was completely deformed as the concrete melted only to solidify again, but the pirate took full advantage of the makeshift platforms in order to dash from surface to surface and outmaneuver her.

As he did that, the pirate spun his sword dramatically and rested it on his shoulder. Shoot, the roof was all ruined now, luckily this wasn't his house.

Steam, eh? She was able to manipulate cold, something that was definitely useful against the average pyromancer. But what about a master with a high level fire attribute?

He clicked his ghostly tongue before snapping his fingers. All the fire wasn't just for flashiness, he now had an entire rooftop's worth of flames to bend to his whims. In an instant, the fires surrounded her like a massive wall, much greater than before. The temperature and its circular motion sucked in all oxygen, not only that, but it bent the smoke and steam and drew it closer, sucking everything into the fiery typhoon through its sheer centrifugal force. Using her smoke form against something like this would be suicide.

"How about we up the ante a little?"

And then the wall shot forth strike the target at its center with immense speed, ready to explode in a pillar of unbelievable flames the moment they met.

The pirate blew up the rock with a powerful blast of fire and whistled at her quick-witted maneuver.

Only to seemingly run out of mana and fall back on the ground uselessly like a big fat potato, his flames themselves suddenly weakened considerably.

Heh, clever. The skeleton leapt back  with incredible agility and dodged the rock, everything about his movements was more cat than human. His altitude increased exponentially as he kicked off a trail of fire as he soared the skies, sharply observing his lively master. As a veteran, he had incredible focus towards his opponent, but this made him far from blindsided to the rest of the battlefield. As he avoided her smoke form, he waved his arm to send a dozen burning projectiles scattered across the rooftop to test her.

The pirate dodged as if it was the most natural thing in the world, not fazed one bit by the gust of wind flying past his cheek. His steps were graceful, yet his fire roared like a hungry beast. They had a few feet of distance, but that meant very little for either of them. He held his arms out as if welcoming her. "Let's dance!"

The pirate shrugged and took a scarf from his pocket before setting it alight and throwing a massive fireball in the direction of the building, only to leap on it and ride it like a surf board. Before the fireball could reach the other building's rooftop, it vanished into nothing, leaving the pirate to land fabulously as if nothing happened.

The bath almost seemed to turn hotter at her words, but it was false. His entire body was hot, and being so intimately close to him made one realize how unnatural the heat was.
