Law

"Someone hit me actually. And ditto. I'm glad you made it out of there." Law shifted the car into gear looking for a fueling station and car wash. "I piss off people all the time, one more won't hurt me. I don't die easily."

You can thank me for that.

'Who ever said I'm not grateful for you saving my fucking ass?'

"Soooo..." Mordred was about to ask an awkward question "where is the body? There's so much blood on the car that I doubt that person survived. Did you hide it to not attract attention?"

Hakuno and Archer

"Wuh, huh?" Still groggy from just waking up, Hakuno batted at her eyes as Archer moved around organizing what little they had like a bee working around a honey comb.

"Noise downstairs. Probably nothing, but do you want to check it out anyway?"

The girl turned to Archer and gave him a sleepy nod. "Might as well. Hopefully it's not any sort of trouble."

Archer nodded and helped Hakuno off the bed. The pair made their way to the source of the noise as quickly as they could. Well, as quickly as they could with a sleepy teenaged girl leading the way at least.

"...Look, the guy who threw him on my car dealt with it, alright? I'm innocent. Really. And this needs a wash, badly." Law looked a little antsy about the whole thing, like he'd rather not remember it. It was hard to be that close to a death like that and not feel the stains and threshold.

Cina Prayer - No Mans Land

‘Tired, so, so tired.’

What looked like a girl laid on the ground, snow and ice all around her. He red hair had shards of ice randomly distributed through it.

She remembers…

Quote
Running, her boots warn and he feet crunching against the snow on the ground. Can’t be caught, can’t be caught, can’t be caught. Turning around a corner she ran from her pursuers.

That’s right, she was running from something. But what? She couldn’t remember.

Slowly she tried to sit up but her strength failed her and she fell back onto the ground. “It hurts” She whimpered, her whole body ached and throbbed.

Then the flashes came again.

Quote
She was hit by something; she felt her bones creak as she was thrown against the wall. She slid down it, her back against the wall as she sat on the floor.

It hurt, it hurt so much.

The things were talking, but she could not hear them. Her ears rang and her eyes started to droop from the pain.

That’s right, she was going to die, but then…

And again she remembered.

Quote
She could not call for help, her connections were weak, she could not even channel them.

And then a snowflake fell in front of her.

And with that she finally realized; the snow itself was not natural. It was caused by a spirit of some kind, and so she did the only thing she could she reached out can clasped a single flake between her hand.

And then she prayed.

“With the covenant of old I present myself to thee, I shall become your flesh of this plane. Your will shall become my own, and my will shall become yours.” She mumbled, the two things in front of her still bickering for some reason, paying no mind to her.

“I present the contract to thee, the contact that will bind us, and the contract that will tie us together. It will be a truth that cannot be broken” The air around her began to grow cold, he hair slowly turned white and her skin grew pale and cold. Ice and frost began to slowly form around her and under her mantel, and around her gauntlets and greaves.

“And so, the contract is stuck, oh god of winter. And with your name called you will enter the world.”

She slowly stood as the beasts that chased her froze as they looked at her.

In the place of the week looking red headed girl stood someone else. The height and build was the same and so was her face, but that is where the similarities ended. Her hair was white, with ornaments made of ice throughout it, her skin was unnaturally pale as she lost all warmth, and finally she was clade in beautiful armor of ice and frost which wrapped around her body perfectly.

“Oh Stribog, bring justice down.” And her voice changed, there was an echo overlapping her own lighter voice, one that was cold and harsh.

And then winter came with all its fury as a tower of light punctured the heavens.

And so Cina lay still, in the cold snow around her unable to move. Walls of ice towered all around her as a spire of ice and frost joined the skyline.

Within a fortress made by a god.

Staff Sergeant Jonathan Mathews:

Upon arriving at the infirmary, Jonathan made a bee-line for one of the beds. He ignored the other occupants of the room, promptly following procedure dictated by the Imperial Infantryman's Uplifting Primer by removing Specialist Cardigan's right shoulder pad, pulling out a knife and started cutting the clothe around her right arm. Upon removal, Mathews witnessed the extent of Samantha's wound...

The cuts, though deep, would not have been life threatening by any stretch. However, the foul concoctions of Nurgle has made everything turn for the worse. The area was many shades of green and black. There was no blood, only pus. There were maggots crawling out of the open, festering wounds while more were noticably moving around just under the tainted skin. The smell was atrocious, the likes that Mathews has only experienced around the mass graves.

And Jonathan had no idea what to do! This isn't an enemy that he knows how to overcome. The Uplifting Primer is not a surgeon's handbook. And he was even more afraid, by the Emperor was he afraid...

It snowed in the strange city next day, as the streets, sky and the tops of the buildings turned white and as cold as ice. For Rattus, it was a surprising turn of weather because the temperature yesterday didn't give any sign that would signify such. As a result, he was forced to wear his double-breasted leather trench coat, leather gloves and steel-toed military boots when he went outside. And since he saw himself wearing this all-black attire because of the weather, he ultimately decided to search for new contacts in the city, not as a businessman who wants to start a steel-making firm but as the arms dealer he always was when he started anew after his own country's grim regime. Besides, he thought that there would be limited visibility gained by the weather that time, so he took this to his advantage to carry on his clandestine profession.

He parked his Kubelwagen outside in a paid lot away from the Manor to begin his thorough search for people who would buy his merchandise. Yukina decided to stay home and play the newest Mario Kart because of the weather while Neo went bar-hopping by himself, not mellowing out after being tossed by a colossal summoned creature because of his incessant attitude of offending and insulting people. He didn't mind being alone as long as he didn't saw any prospect that can potentially put him into a heavy combat situation, as it was his personal standard operating procedure to carry sidearms in his person whether he was going outside.

After maybe an hour of walking outside to meet contacts and eventually making deals with a few shady figures who want to procure or sell weapons either by bulk or by individual, he came across a building that looked like a warehouse. He was not about to pay any attention to it because of its windowless exterior but he came to a realization that a warehouse like this seemed so out-of-place in the neighborhood he was walking in, so the structure seemed to be shady for him. As such, he decided to approach it and see what it contained.

Upon approaching the warehouse-like structure, the first thing he saw was something really unusual, not considering that the city was a hotspot for unusual occurrences. He saw a creature, a metallic bird-like entity with leathery wings on its back, dabbling in the snow. What the bird was doing internally puzzled Rattus for a while, before realizing it might be playing with it after it gave out the impression that it was amused by what it was doing. Still, a bird-like creature playing with the snow in front of an out-of-place warehouse-like structure gave him the hint that there was something going on inside the building.

And so, he approached the doorway of this building and knocked three times on it, in order to call attention to any occupants inside it.

Zolgen

Zolgen watched as a large incision was made in the creature. As the cut was made the binding spell which coated the surface of the thing expanded into its body and began pulling it apart, opening it up like he would a cadaver.

And yet there was nothing. Just a singular type of flesh and what looked like bones. Frowning Zolgen made his familiars cut more into it. But yet no matter where inside the body it was examined it was the same. It consisted simply of a uniform flesh-like substance with bones for structure, nothing more, not even any detectable prana or mana.

“How peculiar.” He mumbled, such a creature should not be possible. There was no blood, no organs, or even any prana that would sustain such an existence.

Moving his Familiars into an attached bubble he made them dissolve in powerful acid, carful to not risk contamination. And then Zolgen raised a single hand to the bubble that held the thing, careful not to touch it and began to speak.

“Zeigen” A single word escaped his lips, a powerful analysis spell he developed during his years of research, normally useful to finding out the existence of a captured familiar’s master or the origin of a magical construct.

And then he saw it, dark abyss, and an infinite amount of eyes staring at him, something far greater then himself. But yet Zolgen stood unflinching. And then he severed the connection and looked down at the creature. “I see, so there are more of you. You are simply a small sliver.”

He then turned his head to Grigori, “Do you mind if I destroy this… thing? There is no more information to collect from it truly. It is simply a fraction of a whole, most likely a throwaway part.” He glanced at it, “I have collected all I need.”

Benjamin

Benjamin would not admit it to anyone but he was actually enjoying this. A business opportunity which was mixed with pleasure was rare and something he greatly loved having the opportunity to experience, not to mention the Queen was rather impressive to watch. He stood on the roof of a building as he shoots pressurized streams down at fleeing targets, making sure not to hit unrelated folk.

And then something blitzed him and sent him flying. He was unable to collect his bearings before he hit the ground, oddly landing right next to Lorelei almost as if it was intended.

Slowing getting up he gripped his cannons tighter. That actually hurt, not the fall of course but whatever hit him. Slowly he looked around with his magic eye, trying to find what it was.

And then something land on top of a streetlight.

“Ya know. I have seen kids with a lot of problems. But it is rare to see a pair that pisses me off as much as you have.”

It was a cat. It stood on its hind legs and had an eye patch and yellow jacket. On its back were a pair of swords that shared the same sheath.

“Now normally, I would let other people handle it. I prefer to not get involved with the crazies of the city. It gives my shop bad publicity, ya know?”

The cat looked down at the pair with nothing but contempt and anger.

“But with what you two young’uns are doing, I have to draw a line.”

Archer eyed the quick tourniquet with the eye of one who'd had to make more than a few himself.

"One. Two. Three, pull the sodding thing out!"

On three, Archer yanked the rebar free like he'd done before, hard and sudden. Blood spurted out - not unexpected, considering the location. A nicked artery for sure. The scent of iron filled the air and Archer felt some splatter against his front. Far less than there would be without that tourniquet, he could tell.

"Break that arm into place." Archer said quickly, stepping out of the way for Forest to do her work - this was a little out of his range of expertise.

The redhead's eyes shot open as the bar was removed from his arm, the muscle, skin, and bone immediately knitting themselves back into proper place as it was removed. Coughing, he tried to move, but Karna's iron grip prevented him from so much as twitching. The redhead's brow narrowed in irritation, though he looked to all the world like a petulant child.

"...Thank you."

With those words that could be mistaken for just another breath escaping his lips, the redhead looked at the people surrounding him with that same sort of grumpiness, that, truth be told, made him seem sillier instead of serious. His eyes were drawn to the large piece of a castle pillar that was stuck through his chest - it was a wonder he could even be moving, with something like that in his body. Though it seemed to take some effort, he twitched his hand towards the stone, silently asking for them to remove that next.

Gilgamesh snarled at the fleeing figure, his visage horrible to behold.

"When I meet you again, coward, I will destroy you wholly!"

The angry King made to leave his perch, idly casting his gaze upon the ground where the wingless dragon and its green-haired companion stood. Its... green-haired companion. Gilgamesh looked closer, scarcely believing his own, perfect eyes.

The one that stood next to the wingless dragon could be mistaken for either a woman or a man, their body cloaked in a simple robe that suggested formlessness, that of a being made from clay. It could not be. There was no way that this being, that stood before him, could be the one and only friend the Golden King had ever had and would have, Enki-

"My King."

The Gate of Babylon was dismissed, and Gilgamesh landed on the ground before Enkidu, his red eyes wide in disbelief. The silence stretched out as the Original King beheld his friend, his attention solely on Enkidu's face. Ramesses, Ishtar, and all the gods of the earth could have come before him and Gilgamesh would not have taken heed - indeed, he was completely speechless.

In that moment Gilgamesh burst out into laughter and swept Enkidu off his feet. Whirling him around in a bone-crushing hug, Gilgamesh seemed almost human, his face relieved beyond description. Setting Enkidu back down on his feet, the creation of the gods was bombarded with questions.

"How are you here? How are you still alive, Enkidu? I thought you," the King's voice almost seemed to stumble for a moment, before continuing on. "I thought you dead. I saw you die. How are you here, in this city?"

It was completely out of character for Gilgamesh to be like this, but so overjoyed was he at the appearance of Enkidu that he could not contain himself. The world seemed brighter already.

--------------

Amelia held her hand up into the air as the small boy hugged her and claimed her to be his sister.

“H-huh! W-what do you mean. I-“ Amelia stuttered confused and surprised at the odd boys actions.

Wanderer's hand stilled in the air between them, his eyes carefully observing the boy.

"He followed you here. Should I kill him?"

Joy.

Wanderer forced a smile at the sickness.

"You can try if you like, but I'd rather not die all the same."

No, no, no. This man was an innocent; innocents are not to be harmed unless they get in her way. But this man was not doing that. He just wanted to help her.

“NO, YOU SHOULDN’T KILL.” She screamed, then she got very quiet “You shouldn’t kill. Killing is bad…” Her voice dropped off that the end.

She somewhat realized the hypocrisy of her words. But in this case there was no other answer. It was day and this man was an innocent, and this was a boy, even if he was odd. To take someone’s life was the furthest thing from her mind. And it was something he should not bloody his hands with.

Wanderer's face was solemn as he regarded the girl. Lifting his hand as both a warning gesture and a symbol for peace towards the boy, he walked over to Amy, and carefully put his hand on her shoulder, slowly, so as not to spark her reflexes. The brim of his hat still covered his eyes as he leaned in towards her, still slow enough to not rouse her.

"You know, I'd have to agree with you, but I'll say one more thing," He gently squeezed her shoulder. "I've found that it is the intent behind things that make them good or bad. Some things are evil, and some things are good, and right, but for the most part, what you put into it is what you get out. If you walk the path of good, as long as you don't stray too far from that path, things will turn out well in the end."

There was both a quiet conviction and sadness in his voice, but it was obvious that he believed them to be true. Having said his piece, the wanderer, softly clapped Amy on the shoulder and stood upright. Walking past her on the soft coating of snow that covered the ground, the cowboy lifted a hand in farewell. From what he'd seen, she could handle whatever happened with the boy on her own, and he'd tarried here long enough. His voice drifting back to the two on the breeze.

"Good luck. If you want to do something right, it's hard, but it's worth it in the end."

Kyle scratched his head as the faerie shadow-walked out of the room. "Could've taken me there with you, damn it." The ruckus downstairs didn't escape his own attention so he too headed there. On his way, he came across a tall man with a tan and white hair accompanying a girl apparently in her teens. She looked a bit tired, probably woke up recently. These guys were very likely to be guests.

The black man addressed a wide smile to the couple, "Morning guys," before storming down the few stairs left and reaching the basement. He approached the infirmary and stopped motion as soon as he entered the room.

What's that horrendous smell??

He covered his nose with his arm as a reflex before looking for the culprit. Kyle had seen dead many times in the past and saw some creepy and disturbing stuff for as long as he remembered. But this, was something going beyond that. There was an unnatural remnant of corruption in this very room and it came from that soldier girl.  The wound was festering and he could even perceive some 'extra' life in this cut. The fragrance was strong enough to make a zombie carcass that had been rotting for hours under an equatorial sun compare to a nice perfume. He had to force himself to breath through the mouth to avoid emptying his stomach right where he stood.

Other people were tending to a man with apparently a piece of building piercing his torso. Forest was there, and the guy seemed to have all the help he needed for now. Couldn't tell the same for the poor girl.

Quote from: ???
Hey, I hate to bother you all. But, I need someone to get the rest of my equipment. And I have another new patient.

Apparently this guy knew what he was doing. He didn't smell quite human but that wasn't important right now. Kyle closed the distance with the soldiers and offered an encouraging tap on the man who looked clearly at loss about what to do. The man clearly needed to focus on something while his companion would receive whatever treatment could be done.

"Come on, man. Let's go fetch the rest of the doc's stuff."

-----

Enkidu couldn't help but laugh in earnest seeing his old friend once again. Soon, he was assaulted by the King's curiosity and answered serenely.

"I'm sorry if I have burdened you with unnecessary pain. I thought myself dead too. What happened to me after we parted ways, I do not understand it myself. It felt... similar to a long slumber. Never truly conscious nor really awake. I simply wandered in thoughts for a period. I could tell time was passing but I had no way to tell how much. I was not master of my own body, only fated to stay in this state without the possibility to interact with the world beyond my own mind. My only wish was to meet once again my precious friend."

He paused and instant and his arm reached for Gilgamesh's, sealing them in a forearm handshake.

"I woke up recently in this strange town, in an age where gods have ceased to exist. What were the odds that our paths would overlap in this day and place? I do not know why we could meet again but, I entertain the idea that our bond was stronger than concepts of time and death. In the end, there is nothing anormal about a treasure to go back to the one it belongs to?"

Then, Enkidu gestured for the dragon to come closer. "This dragon is a companion of mine, he proved to have a strong will and noble heart. Sadly, I cannot understand it for the  Unified Language does not seem to be used these days. Still, he proved its valor and fought by my side. Although I do not know its name, he's worthy of praise." Enkidu then spoke to the wyrm directly. "Wingless One, this is Gilgamesh, King of Uruk and my old friend."

Then, there was the phenix who had come to their help out of its own will. Enkidu, gestured to the fire bird to come land on his shoulder. "This one joined as well. I am not sure why, but it looks somewhat familiar."

The wingless one had watched the exchange with awe. How could he not, finally solidifying in his mind that he had been the traveling companion of Enkidu, one of the first heroes, and even more to encounter Gilgamesh, the Hero-King himself? Certainly these were not the same men in his world, but that changed nothing. Though his body was weary from that elemental storm that had been The Sphinx, he presented himself both humbly and without regret - taking a few steps and bowing his head in respect.

"Well met, Hero-King Gilgamesh of Uruk, friiend of Enkidu. My name is Lycodrake Aptera, it is an honor to meet you." What more could he say? Most else would lead to rambling.

Phoenix

Phoenix chirped as the golden friend grabbed the clay friend in a hug and started whirling him around, A few locks of green hair in its mouth

You see, the clay friend was pulled into the grasp of the golden king Phoenix was tightly nibbling on the clay friend’s hair. And so, the obvious result was the loss of those locks that Phoenix was chewing on.

But that did not matter; the clay friend did not seem to notice. And on top of that both friends were happy; it is nice to see friends being happy. Nothing could make Phoenix more overjoyed

Seeing the clay friends prompting Phoenix glided over to him and hopped onto his shoulder, making sure to change to a proper size for such a position.

Phoenix then continued to nibble at his hair. It tasted weird.

In the concrete jungle, snowflakes danced in the air like ballerinas spinning around the stage. It gave the barren, lifeless city a feeling of life that it somehow lacked in the more springy days, compensating for the lack of greenery that plagued most of the large, sprawling metropolis. Of course, the beauty is easily lost on some people. Especially when attire is improper for the weather.

"Damn it! Kid, if you had any balls, I swear to freaking god that we'd be freezin' 'em right off!"

The disembodied voice echoed through the empty alleyway, near a young woman rubbing her arms for warmth. She didn't say anything to the voice, just continued to try to give herself some heat. She hesitated.

The sound of growling. The smell of musk and wet dog. They weren't alone.

There was a pause. The young woman reached for the great sword sheathed on her back as the voice spoke again. If he could be seen, you could swear he was... grinning.

"Heh. Looks like we got company Kid. You don't have any objections to skinning these fleabags, do ya? That oughta warm us right up."

The girl's eyes darted to the werewolves surrounding her. It was obvious right away from the hungry looks in their eyes that the only negotiations she could make with them was with her blade.

With a flash of onyx, her sword was unsheathed, and not hesitating for a moment, she hurtled herself towards the first wolf with inhuman speed. Seconds later, she landed, already redirecting herself towards the next opponent, the gargantuan lupine laying limp behind her in two pieces. She lunged at the next as it lept towards her, arcing her blade towards the snowy sky, leaving another werewolf split in twain.

One of the remaining two hesitated pensively, the other managing to take the girl by surprise and landing on top of her. The beast's jaws went for her head, but was stopped by a resounding thunk as the hilt of her blade cracked into the monster's jaw before her blade plunged into its chest.

She made her way out from underneath, the other werewolf already fleeing while its injured companion hesitated for a moment before following suit.

The tip of the blade pierced the concrete, blood painting the ground with a gentle plip, plip, plip, as the werewolf slayer took deep breaths. The disembodied voice spoke again.

"Hah! Yeah, that's right, run like the little assniffers you are, you worthless shitwastes! Enjoy livin' while ya can, you're gonna be just like you good buddies over here, ain't that right Kid?"

The girl sighed, the closest to talking she had come to the entire time, and shook her head.

"What?! Whaddaya mean you need to-"

With an embarrassed look on her face, the "Kid" looked down for a moment.

"Oh, yeah, right. We need food. Hey, we got wolf meat right over here! Not hotpods by a long shot, but it'll do in a pinch."

The Kid shook her head again.

"Don't wanna eat it raw huh? Eh, guess I can't blame ya. Come on, you can't at least chase down the other two just to get some blood pumping? Huh? Come on, it's been for freakin' ever since we've done some proper killing! Especially with that whole morality thing you feel like you're obligated towards for whatever stupid reason. Let's track 'em down already!"

The whole partially silent conversation was occurring in ignorance to whoever else might be around. If there was another presence there since the wolf fight, they didn't notice just yet.

Shiro

Shiro walked through the city at ease, munching on a Jamaican meat bun which he pulled out of the bag he was carrying. It was a long time since he had just gone on a walk and relaxed like this.

Deciding to take a shortcut he turned down an alleyway. That is until he smelt blood. Slowly he began to walk down the alleyway, making sure to be ready to throw his black keys if necessary. He finally arrived on the scene of the smell.

The sight he saw surprised him, a Girl, dressed in incredibly light and revealing clothing was standing in the alleyway shivering. Blood splattered all over her, most likely from the corpses of the werewolves all around her.

He glanced at the sword but internally smacked himself. You do not turn a blind eye to those that require help. So he walked up to her. He was sure not make any aggressive movements, carefully holding his bag of meat buns in against his right hand and against his chest.

Then he asked in a sincere concerned voice, “Hey, are you ok?”

10:00AM Day 2

"Fucking hell..."

The confusion as to what the hell just happened a few hours ago had quickly become mere irritation for Revy. After they confirmed all hostiles were no where to be seen, they took to approaching the rather conveniently place pier a couple miles away. Where the pier, or more accurately, this whole mass of land came from was anyone's guess. Other questions like "why is it snowing?", "why is it daytime?", "where the fuck did Cuba go?" were all topics of interest she failed to get answers out of Rock who appeared to be just as dumbfounded as she currently was. Nevertheless, she was stressed as fuck and had no jeans to put on. She was lucky enough to find the jacket from when she went to Japan with Balalaika she left in the utility closet, but was cold nonetheless.

She made up her mind to go get something warmer for her legs. Taking the Lagoon down the river that cut through the center of the city, she stopped off at the giant Golden Tower in the city that appeared to be attached to a large shopping center. One look at it send a shiver down her already chilled spine. "Christ, this shits gonna be pricier than the Forum Shops at Ceasear's Palace, ain't it?". She walked inside to find a map to a clothing store. It was packed with all sorts of weirdos, some of them she was second guessing as to whether or not they were human. But that couldn't be possible... right? In any case, she was armed with her cutlasses under her jacket, so she wasn't walking into certain death or anything.

The shop appeared very fancy; as though it were owned by a king. She didn't fit into this crowd by any means, especially with her current bizarre attire of a jacket and short shorts. The looks were beginning to piss her off, but she wasn't looking for a fight. She was looking for a cheap pair of jeans... if they existed here.

--

It only took her 15 minutes to realize what was around her was well out of her price range. This wasn't exactly a thrift store, and she wasn't lining up to be the next contestant on America's Top fucking Model. "Hey you." She called out to a man walking down the hall of the mega shop. "May I help you. ma'am?"
"Yeah yeah cut the ma'am shit. Wheres a cheap joint to get a pair of jeans around this city? I swear to Christ, any place here would bleed me dry." He was mildly taken aback by her foul language, though not like she cared. "Well? Spit it out, pal, do you know a place or not?"
"I, uh, seem to recall a little area around the police station. That could be down your alley I suppose."
"Thanks for the tip." She made no effort to stick around here. Finding a free map, she plotted the quickest bus route down there.

Revya

The girl nearly jumped, reflexively drawing her sword and preparing to fight again, but it didn't take her long at all for her to register the stranger as no threat. As she sheathed her blade, the disembodied voice spoke yet again.

"No freakin' shit we're okay. We could rip a whole army of those meat bags to shreds, ain't that right Kid?"

The girl just looked exasperated, not matching the tone of the voice at all.

"Oh yeah, right. Hey, asshat, you got any food lying around? We're starving!"

Revya sighed, an apologetic look in her eyes as she clearly didn't agree with her invisible companion's tone, but her general expression conveyed interest in the answer to his question.

Hakuno and Archer

Hakuno found herself reeling as they approached the basement. It smelled... wrong, like a horrible infection... or death. She managed to brace herself, but not without having to use Archer as means of support. The Servant was willing enough to cooperate- He had been in the military, he'd seen the effects of seeing wounds like this on newer recruits.

Archer took the initiative to speak up, since Hakuno was still overpowered from the odor.

"Pretty noisy down here. Hard not to notice even when you can hear it three floors up. What happened?"
