Corporal Mathew Blackburn:
Quote
"Welcome back, Dragoon," Grendel says, "I trust your injuries weren't too severe?"
Mathew forced a smile on his face while addressing the Inquisitor, "Just bruised and battered along with a possible light concussion. Nothing I haven't gone through before."

To be frank, Blackburn did not trust the man. His commanding officers didn't trust Inquisitors, his teachers at the military academy and boot camp didn't trust Inquisitors, everybody on Harlech didn't trust the Inquisitors, and He himself doesn't trust Inquisitors. They bring nothing but trouble for everyone, whether they are involved in the situation or not.

The lecture in his history class comes to mind, about how an Inquistor named Doraleus nearly fucked Harlech over two thousand years ago.

Mathew then noticed that Noel took control of the wheelchair away from the nurse. When Grendel asked about a place to stay, Noel's response made his mind go blank.

"Wait, what?" he sputtered.

"Very well," Grendel says, offering a slight nod to the officer, "I'm certain that I should be able to secure my own lodgings. My gratitude for taking care of the Corporal. I suppose I will be meeting you again tomorrow, then?"

Rider's face fell as she heard Sakura's response to Vanguard and saw her exasperated look.

“Rider, you should know better than suggest that right now. You drained me near dry less than a day ago, I couldn’t even walk a few hours ago. While I’m much better than before, I’m still somewhat exhausted. I still need some more time to recover my reserves", she said.

"Sorry, Master", Rider said, sadly. "I was simply suggesting that it might be a good idea to try it some time. I did not mean for us to do it if would cause you discomfort."

"I understand, Sakura.", said Vanguard as he marched up the stairs. "You are correct to believe my abilities to be great, however I do believe it would not be a bad idea to assess each other's abilities in detail trough combat in the future."

The narrow passageway gave him trouble to move around with his great body, but he managed to advance nonetheless. In a sudden motion, Vanguard lightly tapped Sakura's shoulder with his cold metallic hand.

"If your Aether reserves are still low, perhaps it would be best to feed. Would you object that I prepare adequate nourishment?", he asked his master.

Sakura sighed. “Rider, I know you wouldn’t intentionally harm me, you’ve completely missed the point. I’m mad that you would suggest we would do it right now! You saw how exhausted I was, I’m upset because you seemed to seriously think it would be a good idea right now

Turning to Vanguard, she continued. “Thank you for the kind offer, but cooking is one of my hobbies, I’ll do it myself. Thanks for the thought though.” She said in a kind voice and a smile; a stark contrast from how she had been talking to Rider.

Noel blushed. “There’s absolutely positively nothing dirty about this, geez. You’re an injured man, if I left you on the streets and you died I couldn’t forgive myself! The Nexus is a dangerous city you know! You’ll be paying rent too!”

"Very well," Grendel says, offering a slight nod to the officer, "I'm certain that I should be able to secure my own lodgings. My gratitude for taking care of the Corporal. I suppose I will be meeting you again tomorrow, then?"

“Um, why would we be meeting tomorrow, did we have an engagement?”

Rider looked at Sakura sadly, upset that she seemed to have hurt her feelings.

"Sorry, Master....

I wasn't intending to suggest we fight when you were unwell...", she said, clearly rather upset at herself for hurting Sakura.

Archer cocked his head to the side leaning against the wall. "Well. Obviously I know about Servants." Purplehead with a servant... Sakura? With two Servants? Odd. Though the one screaming had to be a Berserker of some kind. He'd need to be dealt with at some point. And if his current host happened to decide she wanted to snack on someone innocent...

It'd be a poor repayment for not tossing him outside, but he'd do it.

"The situation will sort itself out. So, Forest, how do you know Saber?"

Noticing Rider's sad look, Vanguard couldn't help but pat her on the back.

"It's fine Rider, do not trouble yourself, I was the one who suggested an assessment in the first place. Your intentions were pure hearted, so be at ease."

Going forward, the four finally reached the living room. The grounds were humbly decorated, but what caught Vanguard's attention was the bookcase filled with books of all sizes.
Instinctively, he walked up to the bookcase and picked one of the tomes.

"...Treatise on law..." The behemoth muttered, flipping trough the book's pages.

"A fascinating library. Sakura, would you mind if I were to read them in the future?", he asked all the while pointing to the bookshelf.

Sakura sighed once more. “Well, that’s what you did.” Noticing Rider’s sad expression, Sakura walked over to Rider, and embraced her. “Just don’t do it again, ok?”

Faust
“Vanguard, please feel free to help yourself to the books, just take care of them.”

Rider smiled at Vanguard's attempt at reassurance, before Sakura approached and embraced her. Rider warmly returned her beloved master's hug.

"OK, Sakura, in future I will avoid making suggestions like that when you are not well enough to cope, even if I give you the choice to refuse", she said.

Forest

She eyed Adjutor and said, "People have been telling me that I've been an idiot for centuries."  She shrugged as the wizard bloke grimaced as he realized he was literally soaked in blood.   She listened to his words and folded her arms over her chest and frowned.

"I don't know of a 'purple head', but the guy that wouldn't stop screaming?  Tall, black armor and really good with the slice and dice?"

Saber, you need to keep a better reign on your boy.

Then Archer asked his question and she grinned.

"When she was first brought to the Nexus some vampire wankers thought that the tiny blond girl would be an easy meal.  I'd been tracking the wankers for a while and was about to take care of them when Saber showed that why she might be a tiny slip of a thing, she also had a sword that shot laser beams.  Then I had to convince her not to shoot me, then that I wasn't some bloodsucking fiend that was going to eat her face which is a long and hilarious story, and then she realized I could afford to feed her."

Corporal Mathew Blackburn:

"I-I didn't mean that, miss!" Well, this was a good start, "I'm just surprised you would be willing to let me stay in your home."

He started rubbing the scar on the bridge of his nose with his left trigger finger, face becoming a little red. Thankfully, the filth on his face is hiding it pretty well. Still would prefer to have his helmet and faceguard on, though.

Speaking of which, he still needs to collect those along with his weapons...

"Hey, uh, can you two talk about this while we get my things real quick, please?"

Elyssa:

"Wait," The Warmonger interjected, breaking her silence, "There's more of your kind here?"

This is bad. Unknown location with possibly many hostile vampires. A small detachment from a clan was a terrifying deal for anybody, but here...

"How many" she asked the blonde bloodsucker.

"Also proficient in the use of cars, both as shields and as projectiles," Adjutor adds, "The hospital wasn't damaged too badly after all was said and done, aside from something that happened after the battle, so there isn't much to worry about. As for the people who've insisted that kindness is idiocy, that is their opinion, which they are entitled to. Of course, both of us would be just as entitled to tell them exactly where they could stick those opinions, but that's besides the point. If I may be excused, I think I should at least make myself..." Adjutor takes a moment to pick at his blood-stained tunic, "Decent, for lack of a better term."

It is at this point that some very important knowledge, or rather the lack thereof, makes itself known, "Where are the showers, anyway?"

"Of course," Grendel says with a slight nod to the Corporal, "And we might need to meet tomorrow, considering the rather problematic killings that have been happening recently. I personally suspect the elements of a Genestealer Cult, or perhaps a fragment of a force of Tyranids themselves, but in this Emperor-forsaken place, the possibilities seem to be endless."

"Lucky?" Guts asks, "I've never considered myself lucky, and I don't need luck at this range. You were also on the ground, where they would have had no trouble shooting you some more. And if you thought I was going to go to the effort of loading up the cannon to make a point when you're within slugging range, then I have nothing more I can say."

With that, Guts simply leaves without even bothering to say farewell.

Neo kept his pointing position, even when the mercenary was leaving the manor grounds, not saying a word. And when he was gone, Neo simply pulled the trigger. There was nothing, no recoil, no muzzle flash, no round in the chamber. The handgun was empty, and Neo laughed at the prospect.

Yukina, on the other hand, is still terrified when she stood up from the ground after protecting him from the arm-cannon pointed at them. She looked sad, as she told the blonde, "You are terrible, Neo-san. I did not even get to know his name."

"Me neither." Neo agreed as he also began standing up on his feet. "But fuck that, yanno? The guy has so much ego on his ability to kick demon ass, yet he can't handle people with guns. I hate those kinda motherfuckers. Think they've seen it all, but when something new comes to them, they get shocked."

Then, there was a short moment of silence between the two, which was broken when Yukina asked him, "What do we do now, Neo-san?"

"Well, go the fuck back to playin' yo' damn Jap games." Neo said to her. "I'mma go back to my room and sleep mah ass off. This day's been shitty. Ya' understand?"

"Alright..." Yukina replied.
