Grenth
As Kayneth spoke Grenth sighed and closed his book, putting it back on the pile before pulling out a more modern one titled ‘The Physics of Exoskeletons’. Lose pages covered with notes were scattered though the book. The destruction of his Golem earlier that night, as hastily constructed it was, proved it might be worthwhile to create a more defensive oriented style.
“You offer is appreciated but unneeded, but I highly doubt you are at skilled enough that you would be of any assistance.” Grenth stated simply, there was no mocking in his words, simply the truth. Grenth was incredibly old, and what he has no done is simply because he has no desire to, rather than any lack of ability.
Instead he dedicated himself to his necromancy, and from there all his arts stem. And he has spent his incredibly long life on only that persute.
Kayneth, no matter how great he is as a magus, simply does not have the time to reach a level Grenth can say is even close to his own.
“As for a place to stay however I have a few spare rooms upstairs, you can remain for the night and find a less temporary abode tomorrow. There should be a closet with spare blankets within the hall if you require more; this old house can be cold at times.”
Rebeca
“Thank you so much” Rebeca said as a soft smile appeared on her features. She knew the woman was annoyed… but even if she was strong, there were things that were stronger.
An image of the cowboy man, whose mind was more of a raging sea that would swallow her whole then the calm and still pool that made up other’s, popped into her mind.
“Well, we should head out. Just… keep close, ok?” And like that Rebeca began to walk, “Oh, and uh, keep quite please.” Her hand found its way into her jacket pocket and grasped her mp3 player.
Then, with a tap of a button the sound in her headphone died, and the sounds from the world assaulted her. She gave a slight grimace as she walked, her mind adjusting to the influx of sounds. Fear at what is in the night, love for one’s other, hate for those that steal their peace of mind, peace as they fall to sleep, joy as they spend another night with someone they love. The sounds of all these things flooded her mind from the surrounding buildings from multiple blocks over.
But yet Rebeca filtered through them, she focused as she walked, listening for specific thoughts. Hunger, Bloodlust, uncontrollable lust, these are the things that she listened for.
And she heard them. And she shivered as she felt it. A woman was in pain, she was cold and bleeding as death gripped her, a beast man ripping her apart with its claws and jaws.
And Rebeca felt both sides.
She shivered uncontrollably, but she continued to walk. And Aki and Donkey followed. They dipped though alleyways, side roads, and all sorts of paths. It would seem random to an onlooker, but Rebeca was avoiding them, by a rather large margin in fact, those sounds that made her feel so cold.
It was not long, seemed like forever to Rebeca, until they arrived at an apartment complex. She quickly turned on her music player and let lose a sigh. “Well, here we are…” She mumbled, before leading them inside.
It was not long until they were in rather nice apartment. A sofa and tv were in the main room, a small kitchen nook. There was an open door that led to a bedroom, and three others, most likely closets and the bathroom.
“Well, no home like home I guess.” She declared, as she turned to the pair of guests, her face still slightly pale from listening to those sounds for so long. “So what do you think?” she asked with a tired smirk.
