At the Dock

"You got it wrong maam, i'm just being courteous. It is common courtesy to help a cute lady if she's lost, eh? So could you kindly show us a little courtesy..." He laughed nervously, rubbing the back of his head timidly.

The finger around is gun tensed around his finger, but if she was a member of the organization then this whole thing was bust from the start, and if not...

One of the men behind her aimed the gun with trained speed and accuracy and shot a deadly bullet right towards the nape of her neck.

"And just drop dead already."

"Good, evil. That is only mine to decide as the Accuser, and no one else can take that burden from me." He smiled and closed his eyes, accepting her hatred as if it were a familiar friend.

"But you seem hungry, it would be amiss for a man to ignore a woman's plight." He chuckled at the notion, as if implying either of those terms applied to them was a sick joke in itself, one he found most amusing. And yet, his eyes seemed nostalgic.

"Besides, you're the one who beat me up. You owe me free grub, fool."

Lily

Right after the muzzle flash and slight billowing of gun smoke a muffled impact could be heard. The impact cut her off just before she was about to speak again and the girl remained unmoving for a second..... and another one..... It was strange, she should have fallen over by now.

"Ouch."

The girl who should be dead was squinting her eyes and rubbing her neck, which wasn't strange she'd surely be in need of a medic after that. No, scratch that, a wound of that sort should have instantly killed her.

"That wasn't very nice, you're not seriously so stupid to think I'm the only one here are you? Wow just shooting me, it's like you want to die..." She was speakin of these matters like they were the weather, her eyelids were still shut even now and she was still rubbing her neck. Although it was perhaps more to rub in just how stupid they'd been.

Aruna

Aruna's eyes narrowed, giving him a look that signaled how unamusing the joke was.  "Me?  Kill an archangel?  Stop patronizing me.  Its humiliating.  Your kind are the ones who made it hard for me to feed in the first place.  The humans think I am a menace, all because of your people."

Her wings flapped at the end of her sentence.

"Besides, I am a guardian... or at least I was."

"GODDAMN IT, FALL BACK!' The armed man who was closes to the girl roared in shock and fear when he realized just what happened, he ran and the others took their distance as if they had any idea what they had put themselves into. To steal from the organization, to betray its trust, these two sins were too heavy for them. But at the very least they could have the balls to die with some dignity. As he bolted, he threw a grenade at the girl.

"Fools."

It was funny, really. They didn't realize they had fallen into a spider's nest. No one does. Not until it's too late. And when the string sliced the explosive like it was paper, their end had only begun.

"Who gave you the right-"

Almost immediately two of the many gunmen's found their arms cleanly severed from their bodies, as if they magically split off. Leaning against the wall, the spider posed cooly, wearing the cloth of the ones he was meant to kill with a nonchalant smile. Undetected, until his fangs set in.

"-To touch my woman?"

"Oh?" He smiled and asked her so simply, interested in her words.

Aruna

Aruna looked up at him.  "A guardian.  It means I am responsible for watching over someone.  It is sort of like a bodyguard in this world, but a bit more intimate...  Sort of like a combination between a parent and a body guard..."

She shook her head.  "Look just... lets get some food.  You're not going to go away anyway right?"

"I'm not dumb, I know what a guardian is. Who were you guarding? Why?" His question cut right through her before she could even mention food, everything from his voice to his eyes seemed much more resolved than his aloof act.

Aruna

"Right now... no one," she said.  Her voice sounded empty, void of purpose, like a dog that had lost its master.  "At its best, my job served to protect weaker creatures of the dark from people like you.  At worst, I protected humans corrupted by their own hubris.  At the very least, their souls taste the best."

Aruna had a devilish smile as she uttered those words as if she was remembering some sweet personal revenge.  "Why do you care?"

"A curiosity. If you fought in the war, you must not have been very good at your job. Otherwise, I would have had to take your life." He remarked plainly, as if it were a simple matter of fact. And yet he seemed to smile, for what, no one but he knew.

"Do you enjoy humans that much?"

Aruna

Aruna slowed down, staring at him as he mentioned the war.  That occurred eons ago.  The fact of the matter was she and her people lost.  They were completely outmatched by the raw power of the light.  Well they might have been able to win even then, except when god stepped in.  That stupid angel was right, but she couldn't help but groan at his stupid shit eating grin.

"I enjoy their taste," she snapped back.  "They don't like me, so I try not to get attached.  Do you like humans?"

She was kind of curious.  After all, how much of what she was told was propaganda and how much is truth?

"Aww, wook at the wittwe babwy acting tough. Admit it, you'we a poow wonyewy chiwd who just wants a whug and a pat on the bwack just wike anyonye ewse. Hewe, hewe..." He smiled patronizingly, and dared so much as to hug her like she was a baby, patting her on the back with his massive wings while ruffling her hair with another, taunting her with a condescending smile.

Ugh, he felt dirty just saying that. Oh Lord, forgive him. Not even a thousand hells would be enough to wash his tongue from what, OwO.

He looked at her more seriously all of a sudden, and practically pierced her with his eyes.

"I love humans. More than anything. Their sins, their joy their sorrow their virtues their pleasures, and their pains. Their taste, smell, touch, sight, everything about humans is so far beyond me I cannot but love them with all my soul. If only you were one, perhaps..." All of a sudden, the wings that were patronizing her were wapped all more solidly, while his body inched closer to hers.

"Perhaps I would've fallen for you."

Lily

She sighed dramatically as the torn of limbs started flyin. It really had to be like this, and she was having so much fun too! There really wasn't anything else to do now except tease him for bein so gung ho. He was supposed to let her monologue dramatically and then come in, what a killjoy he was.

Lily was definitely pouting now as she finally opened her dazzling crimson eyes. "Mou..... Do you really have to come out now? It was just starting to feel good... Do you always have to be such a quickshot darling?"

"No thanks! I can find the way myself." Outrageous why would she want to be shown out by him? She did remember that her guns were missing.... oh that's right she took them off earlier. Jeanne quickly went over and picked them up. she was nervously checking them, turning the around this way and that way and feeling their weight. Myabe it was just a calming excercise.

Aruna

"Pervert."

As the two fell, Aruna mouthed a complex incantation.  A small portal of darkness opened up on the ground where they would have fallen.  When they emerged from the other side, the two found themselves atop a roof, staring up at the starry sky, their backs against the cold hard ground.  Well, at least his would be.  She had to deal with his stupid warm belly against her own back.

"I never said I wasn't," she snapped back again.  "I may be angsty, but at least i'm not a pervert like you.  Do you even have a single human friend?  I bet you killed them all."
