Nika

Without realizing it before someone actually pointed it out, she must have started jogging when crowds cleared. A subconscious habit. She didn't like to be too idle, and sometimes caught herself hurrying more than she should.

Another vampire enjoying the sun, eh? She must have been confident about advertising her true nature. Subtler cues usually worked to figure out if she talks with a fellow bloodsucker.

"My bad, I can't help but enjoy the first day under sun since many years." She stopped, facing the purple haired vampire. Dyed hair or the natural colour? "Fancy sports too? You ain't amateur, that's for sure."

Now that was quite lucky encounter, as she didn't imagine she'd run into a fellow enthusiast. She wondered what was up with those form-fitting clothes, but maybe it was a fashion here. Things changed every time she woke up.

Sakura Edelfeldt

"Hm, how old are you?" Sakura asked before the red heat of embarrassment rushed in to pinken her cheeks. "Sorry, is that ok to ask? I was only turned yesterday..." Sakura laughed awkwardly and shook her head. "I like keeping active, and sports helps to keep ones mind clear. I'm particularly partial to wrestling."

She offered the other woman a hand, keeping pace with her. "I'm Sakura. What's your name?"

"Old enough to tell you how folks wrestled back in old timey Greece."

She shook her hand, baring her fangs in a friendly smile. Freshly turned wrestler? She never felt really too old, but speaking to someone who barely started similar path made her a bit more self-aware about the years that have passed. A kind of nostalgia.

"Just call me Nika. I just dropped here by to see how much things have changed. I woke up yesterday night. Fresh off the boat in a way too."

Taro/Security Guard

The security guard sighed.  Another guard approached, a smaller lankier one.  He waved his hand and said, "Looks like you messed up.  Valarie might get upset with you for letting someone in."

"Well if she is as tough as she says, she should be alright," the beefier man who was talking to Forest said.  "Maybe she can get away.  That place is a death trap."


Taro was waiting inside his office, hugging a battle axe.  On his desk he had a picture of Valarie alongside reports of the king's activities.  There was a PC monitor with similar and quite frankly more immediate information.  Forum postings detailing sightings, official documents and even some social media videos.  There were also some porn tabs open too.  Only some of those were related to Valarie.

Sakura gripped her hand firmly and returned the favor. "Good to meet you, Nika." Sakura replied. "So you're not one of Valerie's, then?"

"Nope, it's first time I hear this name. You sire, right?" Valerie. A bit modern name, but of course she could've changed her name to adapt. You never knew how old or young one of the creatures of the night were just by their name.

"Hah! So you're a complete newbie to this city too, aren't you!" Sakura immediately felt a connection forming with this young woman-er, ancient being. "She's the ruler of this place, and the one whom turned me."

She spun around, staring intently at the other woman and blocking her path. "So if you're that old, you should be pretty strong, right?" She immediately took a defensive stance, reinforcing herself. "Wanna get some practice in? Break in your moves after being asleep for so long?"

Yusho
Early Evening

He stared up at the building, eyebrows climbing up his forehead with impressive nonchalance. Scoffing, Yusho clapped Roman in the back, pushing him through the gates. "She turned you into a vampire and babied you, and I'm a guest. If we're not welcome, she must have very strange standards."

He didn't mention how he hadn't worked out Valerie's expectations yet, and followed only one step behind him.

Roman

"Yeah.... thats probably true," he said, thinking how annoying .  Taking a step forward, he entered the gate.  Large walls were erected, guiding the two down a path.  Left, right, it didn't take long for Roman to realize that they were trapped in a maze.

"Why would someone have this as their front gate?!"

Ruler of this district? She couldn't relate to having such position. She always prefered to leave ruling other vampires to people who had more patience for that. She paid too much attention to bettering her own art and enjoying the world around that she left those things to more... political minded Kindred.

"Yup, I guess I haven't been slacking throughout those years. Sure thing, I need some real warm up." That girl surely was confident about facing her. This maybe wasn't a case of having too much confidence. She gave off a different vibe than some fledglings who didn't know how actually competent they were. She assumed her own, nearly frontal face, only slightly sideways, but... "Just one question. Your lady boss won't care if mortals flee in panic when they see us sparring?"

Sakura readied herself, and nodded with a chuckle. "I doubt she'll mind us having a little fight, as long as we don't destroy anything. If she gets mad, I'll take responsibility myself!"

Her magic circuits began to glow, green lines glowing along the entire length of her legs through her clothes. "Don't hold back!"

Forest

A few guards tried to stop her, but luckily for her they were of the typical vampire mentality that guns were for mortals.

Which meant she just sprinted past them with ease before heading to Taro's office.  She swung open the door and then blinked at everything Taro was looking at.  "Wow, I thought I had some ADHD going on," she said with a whistle as she approached.

Taro

Taro was dressed in his suit, skinny body but sleaves rolled up showing off his forearms.  His globe sized mask still projected his facial expressions.  Normally he would greet her with a twisted smile, but instead, he fell face first onto his desk.

"Nnnnnnaaaaaagggggh!" he exclaimed.

Forest

The blonde blinked as Taro fell face first in his desk.  He was back to his disguise; the thin body and the eerie mask.  Which looks weird considering his sleeves are rolled up showing . . . Forest blocked out the thought as she approached her boss.

She was keenly reminded what happened last night after Valerie had . . . mutated her ("turning" sounded odd because Forest had been a vampire for quite a long time) into a vampire like the King and Taro.  After all the weird, intense, painful, and wonderful sex she had since coming to the Nexus, her mind kept circling around back to Taro as much as it was Mal.  He'd been oddly gentle and attentive.  Affectionate and starved for affection.

She leaned over to him and gently rested her hand on his back.  "You alright there?" she asked in a soft voice.

Taro's head popped up as if he just realized Forest was there. It was as if the moment she placed her hand on his back, he remembered her.  Spinning around, he grabbed her by the hips and pulled her into a hug.  "No!  Valerie went to go fight things without me, took some new fledgling" he yelled, rubbing his globe like head against her chest.  "Desk work is boring.  I wanna feel the rush of fighting!"

Forest blinked as she was pulled to him and held close.  Then she smiled at his words as she returned the embrace.  "So she turned someone else, did she?  Do you know who?" Forest asked.
