Taro

"Maybe," he said, letting the sound of the can opening fill the air and taking a sip.  "I don't think I wanted to take her from her home, no matter how broken she looked.  Or at least, I don't think the life I could have given her would be any better.  Trying to help doesn't mean your being helpful.  Thats what I think anyway."

"Well, I'll warn you then, there are going to be times I'm going to piss you right off," she said with a sad chuckle.

Then she tilted her head and said, "But I have an advantage that most people don't have when it comes to helping others."

Taro

Taro took another sip, his crimson gaze unblinking as it leveled with her own.  Reflected in his eyes was her sad little smile, tinged with the slightest bit of laughter.  "I've heard your angry voice enough that I'm not sure it will matter.  There is something so fun about a pretty girl making me angry."

And another sip and swirled it like a glass of fine wine.  "So whats this special thing?"

"The telepathy.  Honestly, the one time it can be a boon is when you're trying to help someone, or think they need help.  A quick scan of their thoughts and there it is," Forest answered.

She did blush and managed to say, "It's not just for projecting naughty thoughts into your mind.  Even though . . . I'm glad I did."

Taro

Taro drank the grape juice and said, "Your right.  Maybe if I could read minds I would know for sure.  Can you tell the lies that someone tells themselves from their true desires?"

"That sort of thing comes with experience, so yes I can," Forest said with a grin.  She then sighed.

"Still, sometimes I just constantly hear people's thoughts.  It's bloody annoying.  Getting into a large crowd of people?  Especially when they have janky pop songs in their heads . . . It's the worse."

"What a wonderful gift," he said, drinking the rest of his juice.  "Well next time you come from a loud crowd of people, you should give me the songs they listen to.  Office work goes by better with music."

Taro crushed the drink in his hands and threw it in a perfect arc into the trash can at the end of the room.  "Lets talk about the day.  We have two options.  We have work to do here and elsewhere, but I could also take the day off.  What do you want to do?"

Nika

The vampire started running, still maintaining a good pace even if she started feeling a bit hungry after that fight. Damn, she really needed a drink. Better to indulge soon than worry later.

"I like bars. More personal touch. I might see people as a source of blood quite often, but I also like the small talk, the atmosphere, if you catch my drift. So I guess I'll head out to look for one before we meet again. Unless you want to tag along." She shrugged. The vampire figured she maybe didn't share her taste for the mundane. Hanging out with mortals, at least to a point, was how she kept her grip on the reality.

"Valerie? She ran off to do some peacekeeping in Halloween Town..." Then of course Roman had to do something awkward again forcing her attention back in him.

"Haaah... Roman I'm not gonna chop you up for fapping to me,  it's pretty amusing actually, I've never had another member of the nobility lust after me like that..."

Tap.

She took a step towards him. "I could lend you a hand there, give you some better, real material to work with, all you need to do is ask..."

Forest

The blonde sipped on her juice, wincing slightly at the metallic tang of the aluminum can taste that the juice had absorbed.

"You know, I could set up a wicked sound system and drive you crazy with my music.  Or just these louts who walk the halls."  Forest gestured out of the door before blinking back at Taro.  "As . . . in a date?"

Taro

Taro blinked and said,  "Only if you want a date," he said, nodding his head.  "We can always work...."

Forest smiled and said, "I would actually love to go on a date.  Would you get too far behind in your work?"

Taro

Taro shrugged and began walking towards his closet.  With a wide sweeping flourish, he opened it, revealing a suit, a t shirt, slacks and other clothing.  Behind it was an axe.  At some point he put the axe away.  "It won't.  Despite appearances I am very organized.  I am actually far ahead of schedule.  Plus, work will pile up when Valarie returns."

"Well, then lets go on a date," she said with a smile.

Then she bit her lip and asked, "Can . . . you go without the mask?"

Taro

Taro sighed and said, "When I leave this room, I will need to wear some kind of mask.  If you mean the physical one, then no, I do not need to wear that mask.  You asked me if I minded getting annoyed at you.  Do you mind going on a date with a liar?"
