Duke Taro

"Don't tease me Forest," the Duke said, his creepy smiling popping back up again as he let a little snicker escape from his...lips?  Probably lips.  "I haven't been sexy for years.  Although, I admit I have taken a bit of a liking to you."

All the sudden, his smile dropped.  His beedy eyes glared at Forest with pressing intensity.  It was the kind of tension that signaled that the man wanted to say something important.  The man flexed his hand, staring at it ever so slightly.

"Forest.... The secretary....  This is an important meeting.  In fact.  This is so important that I am willing to dismiss you after this client is done.  After this, I will no longer need your services for the day.  Keep on your toes and be ready to punish the secretary on my command."

That's good right, he's taken a liking to me, right?  I mean, Poppet always said it was easier to do his job when he was charming than not, Forest thought to herself.

Then he stared at her and there was that weird pressure in the room, a pregnant pause that was usually followed by something important. 

"So your secretary is causing you problems as well?" Forest asked, her teasing tone gone as she shook blood off her hand.  "I just might need a list to see who's causing you problems and clean house if I need to."

Duke

"In a sense yes," he said, waving his hand, as if to shoo the thought itself.  "Its more disappointing enough to warrant punishment.  Don't worry about the list.  Its always growing."

The door opened, revealing about twenty percent of the man's hulking frame.  The doorway cracked as his meaty hands pushed his body through.  The enormus man stared down at Forest, before sitting in one of the office chairs.

"Sir?"

Forest

Forest moved to stand sort of between Taro and the enormous man.  However, even though it was at her side, the sword was still in her hands.  She looked at the giant, ready to read his mind when Taro got started.

The Duke and the Secretary

It was quiet.

The secretary's eyes glanced everywhere it could.  First the shot to Forest's stalward stare. Then, they darted towards the empty corner.  Another swiftly flew towards the ground.  Finally, he gathered his courage and met the Duke's icey stare.

"Am I in trouble?"

"HeheheheheheheheheHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!  In trouble?"

The smile faded, his voice deadpan as he said, "No.  Your not in trouble.  I can't expect an idiot to do his job properly.  No... this one is on me.  You see, I was looking over the files when I found something interesting.  Some of these appointments are umm... off."

"Sir?  I scheduled them all using the criteria on the sheet."

The Duke kicked his table, sending it flying into the hulking man.  With an outstretched hand, the man caught the table and crushed it.  "AND NOW YOU BREAK MY DAMN TABLE?!  FOREST!  Punishment!"

This is what I'm here for, the blonde thought as she moved over to the musclebound morons side.

Forest smirked before kicking the man in the side of the knee with all of her strength.  It was a blow she had used in countless fights with countless vampires.  It was also a blow she had taken, so she knew how much of a bitch it hurt too.

At that angle, it was enough to shatter someone's knee and cripple a mortal for life.

For a vampire, it would be a bitch for a minute or so while it reconstructed, buying enough time for another nasty blow in a fight.

The Duke

The man's eyes widened as he finally realized what Forest was here for.  Before he could really think about what to do, a foot collided with his knee.  A crack echoed through the room as fell on his belly.  He slowly got to his feet.

"S-sir.." the man begged.  "D-did I really mess up that badly?  It was just today right?"

There was a smaller cracking noise.  It was the familiar sound of his bones rejoining, cracking into place.  They all knew what that meant.  He could be hurt again.  The man's thoughts were frantic and scared.  For the first time in the entire interaction, the secretary thought about defending himself.  However, he restained the thought when he remembered that people who challenge the duke are often executed.  Especially when it comes to professional matters like this.

The duke stared at the man, his pupiless eyes unblinking.  "Truthfully, you mess up all the time.  Its new.  It happens.  No, you must be punished for one single mistake.  Forest?"

Forest

Forest bowed her head and said, "Of course, Duke Taro."

Then she placed her foot on the giant's back. 

She bit her lip and braced herself.  Her stomach knotted up but she met the giant man's eyes.  Then she forced her mind into his. 

There was no defenses.  It was like reading an open note book written in pencil.  A notebook she could easily rewrite parts of.  The secretary's eyes went blank as Forest moved her foot off of him.

The secretary stood up, looked at Duke Taro, and then reached up.  There was a sickly wet tearing sound as he tore off his own ears.  Blood leaked down the holes as he knelt down before Duke Taro and laid his ears at his feet.

"I could do his eyes or his cock next," Forest said in an emotionless voice even though her stomach was churning and pressure was building behind her eyes.

The duke chuckled and said, "Oh Forest.  How deliciously over the top.  I suppose if he says something else stupid go ahead.  But right now, I think he knows exactly where he stands.  No... I think its about time I tell both of you exactly what he is in trouble for.  You see, when I checked my computer earlier today, I realized that I actually had some free time, free time I intended to use to jack off to the memory of a crush I had in my youth."

Too much information... the secretary thought.

"Thats when I realized, I didn't schedule an appointment.  In fact, why would I even let someone come into my office when I am doing such important things as jacking off to my past?!  Those wonderfully small perky breasts... those cute little fangs... the way she bit my dick..."

"No... Mr. Secretary.  You let in a spy.  Isn't that right Forest?"

"Ah, well I told those wankers that I'd suck at the whole James Bond thing honestly," Forest said with a sigh, a chuckle, and then a shrug.

She shrugged and said, "I thought their whole plan was wonky.  If they were spies like they claimed, why wasn't one trying to get close to at least one of their 'targets'.  However, I wasn't lying when I said I just arrived.  Figured I could attempt to play double agent and see where things stood with my own eyes than what some giant fannybawbag was trying to force down my throat."

The Duke

The Duke stared at Forest for a moment, his white eyes as clear as the void.  "Ah yes, well it makes sense," he said.  "I think one of our men had them panged.  Scott was it?  He is the leader of that little band of thieves.  He probably realized I could get to his men through him if he wasn't careful, probably used you as fresh blood, bait, a disposible resource.  I mean if you die quick enough, he probably doesn't even have to pay you!"

He chuckled at the thought.

"So then Forest.....  Will you try to kill me now then, flee?  Or..."

Forest

Forest shrugged, looked at the Duke, and said, "Or continue as your bodyguard and hopefully gently nudge you from cocking things up viciously."

"You maybe batshit crazy, but you've been pretty honest from the get go.  And you didn't piss me off by belittling my trauma like that bloody wanker Scott did.  Pretty sure he's working keeping all of his men in the dark wanting to make a power play of his own.  Oh, he also tried to get me to wear a skin tight body suit, so he can just sod off."

The Duke couldn't help but flash a toothy grin.  "You realize I intend to kill them right?" he asked, his beady eyes locked on her face.

"I would be surprised if you didn't," Forest said with a sigh.  "Even though, there's one, Ryan, who's a good bloke who got played."

The Duke began cackling like a maniac.  "And what?  Your fine with essentially signing his execution warrant too?  That poor fool sounds like a victum.  Do you think he deserves to die like the rest?"
