Michael

Michael made to follow the hydromancer when the kid called out to him one last time. Sighing, he turned to face the kid, fairly sure he could catch up with them if he had to.

"Of course he's wanting to keep you out for selfish reasons," the immortal explained, "He said so himself. He doesn't want your blood on his hands. But that doesn't mean that his motives are entirely selfish. And you're not quite looking at it the right way. It's less that you're life is worth more, but that you have far more ahead of you than he does. It's simply that, if you were to die tonight, then all of your potential, everything you could've done, all of it will be gone. Wasted. Useless. Think about everything you could do, either for yourself or for others, if you lived. Think about everything you could become if you lived. Would you really risk throwing that away for something like a simple hunt?"

"As for us," Michael continued, turning around to follow, "We've made our choices, decided on our paths. All we stand to lose here are our lives."

"And if we do, well," the immortal looks back to flash the kid a smile, "Who wants to live forever?"

With that, Michael continues on his way, soon catching up to the hydromancer and the woman.

The First Mother smiled at the request although her eyes did glance curiously at the blade. Blood storage was not a trait that elements were capable of having. It wasn't in their nature. Regardless she held out her arm for Adjutor. "Take all that you want. There is nothing you could do that would hurt me."

“The pavement is damaged, there is a massive crater, some of the buildings are damaged, and debris is been seen falling.” Karn explained it was the truth; there was no reason to talk about the fight that happened. It was not the reason they were preventing entrance.

Well, at least that was his reasoning, and the reasoning behind the order; he knew Christina also viewed it as a way to attract… others.

“I cannot allow anyone to enter, for their own safety” He remained at ease, having explained. He really just wished they would take that and leave.
"Seriously, just let real authorities handle it. I'm not most law abiding citizen, I don't give a fuck about road safety laws. but I will sooner take orders from coppers than people that claim they have any real authority. Ya know, I can pretend I'm a bigshot as well. Though I used to be a leader of an army, even if Takasugi is more famed for leading an unit." Gintoki retorted, not too happy about being ordered by a fake. He drew a line in a dirt with his leg and said: "Well, if you cross this line before me you are entering my personal space and this may startle me and be worse for safety than any falling debris. I wasn't called a Demon for nothing. Spilling my parfait invites disaster."

The half-elf had spent too much time around flamekin, for his gut response to Gintoki continuing to be an fool was to silence the man. Painfully.

Instead he addressed the lead knight once more. "If you have any concerns for any of our safeties and only, and rightfully, wish to keep the peace, then might I ask you concede that we might be able to help you? My friend was greatly distressed over what he sensed. It isn't my place to describe what he felt, but know that it would ease his peace of mind if we could help by investigating."

Rachel had grown very very fearful all of a sudden. Whenever Shendu got smarmy (or tried to), it usually meant bad things for someone. And since there weren't idiots in sight to blame, his anger was likely going to be redirected towards her.

She tensed up in anticipation and instinctively started to look for escape routes. But say what you will, she was not prepared for Shendu's big scaly supersonic ass to land on the roof she was standing on, nearly knocking her off her feet.

"So, to whose imbecility is this result owed?" The demonic sorceror snarled.

Rachel was also definitely not prepared to face Shendu's shadow rising out of the dust to loom over her and his utterly unamused tone echoing in her ears.

"Heey now, I can't be blamed for anything I didn't do," she said, dragging out the words as though handling a volatile matter. "Nor for anything I did do, really, not my fault super martial arts dude popped out of nowere and completely ruined-"

Rachel saw Shendu's expression to go the dark place. And by the dark place, she meant red eyes shining with suddenly increasing displeasure and smoke escaping from his mouth because fire was probably starting to well up his throat, like some majorly hazardous puke rolling out from one's stomach.

Rachel immediately took a step back and raised her hands disarmingly, backtracking with all the speed she could articulate words at without sounding like a giant buffon. "And what I didn't do was shoot something at the cup that was literally overflowing with malice likely because its holder was doing something, causing it to explode and release whatever the hell was inside, that stood there looking menacing for a few seconds before ripping open the sky and just leaving!"

Rachel genuinely feared for her life for a second, because that didn't seem to pacify the demon sorceror.

On his side, Shendu resisted the urge to smack his hand onto his face. That and letting loose the roar ringing in his mind, heeding the little voice telling him to burn everything to the ground, then proclaim himself the apocalypse and the ruler of all, demand rightly tribute payed to him before he assured the safety of the citizens as tyrant-protector, and go home and call it a day.

The almighty demon sorceror of fire instead limited himself to groaning deeply, his shoulders slumping.

Rachel didn't have the time to internally sigh in relief (she didn't think showing that kind of reaction would help any, and better not to stoke the fire now that it was coming down) before Shendu turned his frowning head towards her.

"Find the responsible then," he ordered simply.

Rachel winced again, the most recent time that day. She looked at her boss, who had proceed to look away in some vague direction up.

Shendu thought he had seen something cross his peripheral vision above them. His sharp eyes caught the shape of a giant crow, flying away from the epicenter of the mess he oh so wished to know the reasons for at the time. To make things more interesting, it appeared to be carrying people.

And if he wasn't mistaken (and of course he wasn't, he was among the greatest of chi sorcerors) there was the distinct trace of magic about it.

Shendu rose from the cracked roof, floating up a few centimeters, then zoomed away in a yellow blur. The air whistled with his sudden departure, the wind physically unbalancing Rachel once more.

The mercenary's eyebrow twitched as she contemplated recent events. She decided not to think too hard about it and made an exasperated gesture with her arms before heading back down.

Shendu cut the air like a golden meteor, overtaking the bird in flight as it dashed past, and with a sharp turn came to a frozen halt directly in its path.

Adjutor

Adjutor had decided that he'd have been fine if Gaia had refused. The request was strange enough that he wouldn't have blamed her. Instead, she held out her arm and actually bade him to take all that he wanted.

...Goddammit.

Yay!

"Thank you," Adjutor said, approaching Gaia and resting Tyrfing's against her arm. A slight sliding motion was all it took for the blade to sink into the woman's flesh.

While Tyrfing normally drained its victims by force, the Elemental all but tearing the blood from their veins, for this woman, the Elemental took care, coaxing the white essence from her veins with unusual efficiency.

Wait a minute, is that blood white?

Curious...

I suppose that's just something natural to her...

We should cordon this off from the rest of the stuff Tyrfing has in reserve.

Of course.

When this is over, how about we try out some of that new magic?

Practice opening up the connection and maybe those spells Ur taught us?

Don't see wh- Hey, is Tyrfing still-

Eyes widening in surprise, Adjutor swiftly pulled the blade from the woman's flesh. The white blood still on the blade might have drawn a streak onto the sands of the beach from being flicked off had Tyrfing not already consumed that as well.

How much did you take?!

Smug chuckles are all that answer the teen.

No, really, how much did you-

This time, the bemused laughter interrupts Adjutor.

...Goddammit, Tyrfing.

You really have to cut loose every once in a while. Try to actually enjoy things, much like I just did.

...Did I just get...

...Since whe-

Fuck it. Nexus.

"My apologies for that," Adjutor said sheepishly, "If you'll be fine, I think I'll take my leave now."

Sakura

Sakura happily pranced over to the closet on her Senpai’s advice. She rifled through it, shuffling through her clothes until she found what she was looking for with a small gasp. “Here it is!” She said, withdrawing two aprons from the closet, identical copies of the ones she and Shirou had used years ago.

Sakura draped them over her arm, and skipped down the stairs full of joy. I hope he hasn’t finished cooking yet! She was excited. This was the first time she’d have been able to cook with Shirou in three years! So she burst around the corner, full of energy, “Senpai--” She started cheerfully before she saw him. She stopped cold, and stood behind her Senpai for safety. “Senpai...” She whispered to him extremely quietly. “Why’s he here...? I wanted to cook with you...” She frowned, tears welling up in her eyes.

Sakura's Other Shirou (Not the Plushie)

"Sempai!" Shirou smiled a the sound of the familiar cheerful voice calling out for him and spun around to greet her.  Then her face fell before she darted behind him and whispered, "Sempai, Why’s he here...? I wanted to cook with you...”

Her misty violet eyes started to well up and he frowned and said, "He's not going to be here for long, and then we can cook together.  I promise."

Rin

Rin rubbed her forehead as she regarded the scene in front of her.  Then she walked up to Rider and the other Shirou, a hand going to each of their arms.  Forcing a smile on her face, she said, "Come on you two.   From what I've gathered your Sakura might be here too.  If you have something of hers, I might be able to scry to find her.  How's that sound?"

She made sure to look at Sakura and mouth, "You owe me."

Rikuyo

"Sorry, but maybe it's not meant for you to take part in this fight. Goodbye, Roxas, and good luck. Maybe we will cross our paths again later" she said, smiling. Now that they were on their way, she was in better mood. She even wouldn't mind Michael as long as he would just listen to Richard. "Tell me more about this woman. I want to know what exactly you are hunting down."

Richard Maxwell

Richard's smile didn't fade to Rikuyo's words. Instead, he rubbed his chin and thought for a second. Then, he spoke up with a cheerful tone.

"If I was to put it in simple terms... she's a good hearted one. The type who would let someone eat at her table knowing he would have killed her. Thing is, she's also an idiot. And don't get me wrong, I don't mean it in a bad way. But of all the idiots in this city, she's the biggest idiot I've ever met."

Giggling, he scratched his head and smiled in a relaxed way. Unnerving, that smile of his was, but that was a thing he knew already.

"Basically, think a wolf trying to live among sheep and trying not to eat any. If that is not stupid, I don't know what it is. Not that it's a bad way of thinking mind you, but there's no way she's going to keep it up. With that in mind, I rather not take the risk of her having to betray herself, so I'll give her a helping hand. After all, a friend in need is a friend indeed."

Really? He dragged us along to mercy kill someone? Well, for an odd definition of mercy, granted...

"And what a friend you are," Michael remarked, only partially paying attention to the conversation, focusing instead on their surroundings for any signs of unwanted attention. It wouldn't do well to be caught off guard, whether by the being they were hunting or by something else...

Despite the large amount of blood taken Aisha was unconcerned and even a bit amused. Her arm was already healed as she pulled it back and she gave the Children a small smile. "Tread carefully, Child. The darkness is a primal fear of man for a reason."

Aki shot Crest a sour frown as he reprimanded her for being too obvious in their breaking and entering. Without lockpicks, this was about as subtle as it got. At least he had gotten the door open somehow.

“If I’m not quiet enough, you should just open all the locks while we sort through the goods,” she whispered back while rifling through the cabinet’s contents.

Sakura

Sakura looked down at the ground in embarrassment as Irisviel responded to her worries with disbelief, clearly astounded that Sakura was worried about the possibility of dying.

Well, maybe she does have a point..., Sakura thought. Although, then, normal games don't manifest arms and drag you into the screen....

Sakura pondered it for a moment, and was about to concede Irisviel's point when Togan spoke again. His words confirmed Sakura's fears. The track was outright dangerous, if she played it she could genuinely die, or be irreversibly altered in a way that might upset Shirou.

"I am sorry, but Detroit is off limits", the demon said. "If possible, I would ask that none of you go as far as to consider playing on that map. However, the other ones should be safe! Besides... it is time to choose."

With that, a hologram of a text box appeared in the darkness, asking them to confirm the choice of track which, to her relief, was not Detroit. She wasn't 100% sold on Burning Love either, there were a few too many "shoulds" in Togan's claims of safety for her liking, but nevertheless it was far better than the alternative.

"Irisviel, I agree that a game shouldn't harm you, but games don't usually manifest arms and drag you into the screen either. Even Virtual Reality ones. And, Togan seems very adament that Detroit is unsafe, so I do not want to take the risk", she said softly. "Let's just play Burning Love. Or any of the other tracks, if you prefer those."

Abigail

Abigail frowned, knowing she was missing something here, but if Archer was going to kill someone to literally end his own existence . . .  Just thought made Abigail's gut twist as she wondered if she could stop it.  Law wasn't overly fussed about it, but he was pretty fine with being around death.

Except the one that was trying to molest him.

Maybe I can have Corbie and Nihm find this guy and I can tell Forest and Lancer where he is.  I mean, Law Unto Herself should be able to protect him, right?

Forest

Forest sighed, looked at Lancer and sent to him, And if we attempt to go looking for Shirou if Law's not keeping a tight reign on Archer, he might follow us if we try to find him.

Then Abigail snapped her fingers and said, "Also, be careful Forest, there's some changling woman who pretty much wants to give you a bad case of final death.  She looks like Saber but taller."

"Eh, not overly concerned about that.  Wouldn't be the first Fae I had to kill," the vampire said with a shrug, remembering a night long ago when she stood between the Wild Hunt and Gabriel.

Law shrugged as he'd done before, waiting for Abby to fully recover. His main problem when it came to dealing with Forest was trying to forget while looking at her that she was a moving, talking, thinking, sentient corpse. A very very old moving talking thinking sentient corpse. There was a lot of experience with things he'd probably end up encountering later on.

God knows this place would probably throw weirder shit at him than hot redheads and the embodiment of death who was into raping people.

"What about spirits? If you're that concerned about Archer, you might have to well... deal with him."

Adjutor

"Of course," Adjutor said, quickly composing himself, "Good night, then...Mother."

With that, the teen makes his way off the beach before slipping into a nearby shadow. In spite of the chill cutting at this very bones, in spite of the confused whirl that her words had stirred up in him, Adjutor couldn't help but feel a small warmth from the memory of this latest encounter.

...I thought we agreed-

I don't know, really...it's weird. In this den of insanity and bloodshed, after everything that's happened today...I honestly didn't think...

Didn't think you'd ever feel truly...safe?

Is safe the right word? No matter. Even if it isn't, it's best we can come up with for now...

By now, Adjutor's course through the shadows had led him to a fairly clear area. Slipping from the shadows, he found himself in what appeared to be some kind of abandoned factory, with defunct and dust covered machinery strewn about everywhere.

Found her.

Good. Keep an eye out.

He figured that it was highly unlikely that anyone would be coming by this far off the beaten path, and thusly cleared out some floor space before taking a seat on the cold stone floor.

With that, Adjutor started his attempts to open up the connection to the Fade, as Ur had showed him earlier.
