As the girl entered, nothing happened. As the girl began to eat, nothing happened.
It was silent and peaceful. And the light of the pillar continued to hum, shining brightly. All the while the smell of the delicious meat permeated the area.
Viper’s Den
The sound of clanking metal echoed though the hallway, as the two companions found their way down the hall, flanked by metal beasts. It was only a moment later that an additional sound joined the chorus, the sound of servos and gears, accompanied by the loud sound of steal pounding against the floor.
Another had arrived, calling out to the invaders as he ran up to them.
But it was at that point, as they were distracted by the newcomer, there was another click, the stomping of the newcomer having set off the sensitive traps hidden away.
And with it a fiery explosions was let loose, with white flames, trying to swallow the group of now three people.
Roger’s Theater
“And so in his new home, the boy was raised. He was taught, he was fed, and he was cared for. He was like a prince. Cared for by an old man, an old man filled with tales to tell, tales of old heroes, tales of the sites of the world, tales of demons and men.” Just smiled softly
“His favorite tales were of the Saint of the First Spring and Dawning Life. He was a man who swore never to fight. He wandered the world, helping everyone he saw. His brought with his water, and that water granted life, granting health to those who drank from it. It cured all illness, restored any wound. It was life, carried within the purest substance that granted life to everything.”
“The man wandered, until one day he met a woman. She was a beautiful woman, and she was born with great powers, capable of removing any affliction from someone. The two fell in love. They spoke, they lived. And for a year they were happy.”
“And then one day the man broke his vow, and plunged a knife into her heart, and then he vanished from the world. And it was said the woman died with a smile, while the man cried.”
“The boy did not understand why, but he cried as he heard that story. And when he asked his caretaker why he could not stop crying, the man looked sad but had no answer.”
“It was not far from then when everything changed, and the boy, the boy chose his path.”
Suiren
Suiren finally looked at the woman, her eyes telling a story that could not be read. She tilted her head back to the sky, to the bright white sky, and she held her hand up.
It crackled gold, and with her hand she ‘caught’ one of the falling motes of light. And in that moment it turned gold and vanished.
And then she repeated the words she had told others, people would say they were her comrades, people who swore themselves to her side. The only words she could tell someone.
“I can’t tell you.” She uttered silently barely louder then the wind.
