Mordred
"No way. Even if you gonna grow fast, I bet I will still be ahead. I grew few centimetres in past years!" Mordred argued back, grinning. No way she would get surpassed by a shrimp like her, magic or not. Seems like occassional banter in fact improved her mood. "You won't be ahead even if that magic accident involved some magic rays. Honestly, that's sounds a bit like something out of a comic book, with superheroes who get powers after getting bitten by a spider or doused in radioactive rays. You should read some, kids and some adults like reading them."
But to get to the point.
"Oh yeah, his lifelong commitment was to protect local graveyards from trouble. Unruly ghosts, people trying to bind souls of local departed in their service and trouble like that. Before you ask, we were not vampire hunters back then. Not all areas are infested with those leeches even if there are too many places for my comfort who are full of them." The changeling gritted her teeth, remembering there is at least one vampire in this city that she should to take down. But, she continued her story. "What I did seemed hardly glorious, and I was in fact a bodyguard for old eccentric guy who could solve ghost related problems but needed my help when dealing with necromancer wannabes who still needed to be discouraged physically from black masses or digging up graves. But in fact such unsung and modest task was refreshing, and it gave me a better perspective on life. And then that incident happened..."
Mordred visibly got nervous as she reached that part of her story, a bit hesitating to continue. "Just be patient and give me some time, I really need to collect myself before telling you that story."
