Marcus
With his free hand, Marcus scratched the back of his head, expelling a heavy breath as he looked down at Forest. "Fine," he said with a groan. "I'll try to tell you what I can."
It was at this point he realized what was bothering him. He didn't want to be more indebted to her than he already was. Sure, he was bullshitting that offering sex company was a good trade for a damaged building, but really, she was doing far more for him than he was her, at least at this point. Offering to train him, giving him a place to stay for a while. For some reason, having her take care of this poison bothered him, as stupid as it was. He may not win many fights, but he could at least pride himself on recovering from injuries, no matter how strange.
No... It might be more than that... Or something else..
He stopped walking. They had arrived in front of the police station. Retracting the hand around her waist, he slipped it into his pocket. "I'll let you check me out after I talk to the cops," he said, wrapping his hand around the knob of the entrance.
