DSM Fourm Visual novel project

I think that creating a visual novel would be a good community activity in general but further more it would generate interest and exposure for the forum.

As a collaborative effort for the forum the game's story will be a round table discussion. However given the nature of a VN The story writer, sound designer and most importantly the Artist(s) Will have the greatest level of input in the story.

At the moment we need the following positions filled

Sound designer:
Character Artist:
Background Artist:
Story editor:
Programmer:
Writer:lantzblades
script editor:

I'll be taking the position of Writer as I'm proposing the idea.

now we need we things aside from the above.

Mainly the following.
Story Genre:
Story length:
Theme:

Well, what would programming require here? I can certainly do it, although I'm already working on the BMW thing too.

Html 5is used in mobile app design and with the advent of windows 8 would provide the greatest exposure for the novel. It's simple enough programing wise given the project in question.

Er, not to sound rude, but... lantz, are you sure that you're qualified for the job of writing the game's story? I mean, honestly, I don't think you're up for the job yet, compared to someone like Elf.

If you don't think I'm qualified Xam you are free not to involve yourself in the project. However I suggest you actually read my post before you engage in critical feedback. Not only did I say that it would be a round table issue but further I state why I am taking on the role of writing here. It would be irresponsible to present the idea and then push the work onto other people.

This may be a week late, however, I shall be frank with you. I actually did read the opening post... and my personal experience with you has taught me not to trust you with the job of lead writer.

No, this is not an attempt to bait anyone, this is me being honestly worried for the future of the project you have in mind. I wish to make that perfectly clear right now.

Please understand that I really am worried by the choice you had made in regards to the writer position. It doesn't matter if this is a round robin-style, because it all has to eventually be processed by you, and the quality of the game's writing drops exponentially in that regard due to you being the guy that converts the writing styles.

...if this came across as baiting or whatever else, please, tell me now so that I know what not to do in the future.

Yeah, let's just say that having Lantz as a writer is a horrible move and should be immediately discarded for rather obvious reasons.


By the way, long time no see Mike, glad the forum is off the ground again. I give it five months before it collapses again.

Eh, I'd say our chances are better than you think- I'd list my reasons for saying so, but I also don't want to tempt fate or jinx things. Probably getting the userbase established is our biggest challenge, but it's still doable I think.

Also, just to head things off at the pass, keep it cool in here. I'd rather things remain civil.

Besides running the forum, I can provide avatars for people as well~
