As for the tears... while the tear stream looks tear-like to me (in the anime sense, anyway), if you want more realistic tears, it may not hurt to draw a droplet near the origin of the tear stream, at her bottom eyelid.
It also depends on whether you want to depict it as being a long period of crying, or whether they've just started crying. If they've just started, some droplets on the lower eye lid will do. If they've been crying and are still crying, then you want the droplets along with the tear stream/salt trail.
Also, making it a bit more watery might help as well.
Add more viscosity and depth to the tear stream.
If ever in doubt, taking a look at a few pictures of people crying both anime style and in real life may help a bit. Hope that helps!
