You mean what EMIYA is ranked at, which isn't actually human level stats unless for magecraft it's the exact same thing, and why do you say that they would have no ability in magecraft? EMIYA's really shitty at magecraft that doesn't have to do with UBW or isn't reinforcement/projection, but he can at least do it. Am I reading something wrong?

No, I am more saying that with the RP system the distinction between human scales and servant scales for magical ability is pointless.

Because average humans, which is the compairison point for the human scale, do not have magic, making the human scale pointless.

As long as you explained what they can do it is fine. Anything they can pull out needs to be explicitly said on the sheet or logically and reasonably derived from what they are already capable of.

What bothers me the most about the Magic Ability stat right now is that even with two scales that should allow us to say "my character is stronger than yours" straight off, we're having arguments about it anyways.

Part of this is because Magic Ability is a subjective thing to begin with, especially when characters are hyper specialized like EMIYA, but also because it's a hard thing to place in a scale that tries to be objective when it includes far too many variations.

So I'd rather it be more subjective than arbitrarily try to make it about objective comparisons.

Having gone back and looked through the posts now, there are only two other things I need to say.

First is to Alice, I think those stats you posted were Minato's base stats before Persona and equipment boosts; When all the bonuses were added all his stats were over 200 IIRC. Yeah I just checked my original copy, the persona stats were a passive bonus added to his base stats, plus his equipment provided rankups and multipliers; The end result was a lot of EX's. Which was the dumbest kind of mistake for me to make.

Second is about the once a day miracle. It is not as impressive as it sounds. But I think I will narrow his range of choices to "miracles attributed to the messiah" since it is an ability of Messiah. That was what I was intending to do anyway, I just did not get around to it last night.

I actually agree on Lorelei being as powerful as she is, if she does not make every other modern mage look like a complete joke, something is being done wrong.

With Jenn's approval Tokiomi has been relegated to a NPC so for those that want to use him for character development are free to use him. I will be happy to play him for you if you want it to happen. However I will not be actively playing him. It would be greatly appreciated if you do not just kill him off randomly so people who want to interact with him are able to.
