Lycodrake Aptera

The Sphinx's temporary defeat removed the pressure from its paw upon his head, especially his skull. Still cloaked in the golden power of Aegis, the wingless one struggled slightly to get up from where he had been smashed into the earth. He was not weak, but the strength of his scales was specifically attuned to resistance. While Aegis increased his defense and resistances extraordinarily, it did not completely render him invincible to damage.

He was no stranger to battle, but events were happening too fast for him - The Sphinx was trying to crush his skull only moments before Enkidu had slashed down with a giant sword. That started a chain reaction of events. In the end all that mattered was that The Hydra was defeated and The Sphinx had turned into a fiery tornado sent to attack them. But what is fire to a dragon such as he? The winds would hurt, yes, but with Aegis as his blessed shield, the wingless one was not worried about that.

So thinking, the wingless one rushed toward the now dismounted Enkidu, leaping to both catch the green-haired man and size-shifting again. He turned his entire body into a shield for his newfound friend, ready to endure the fiery storm.

Fate

Fate managed to shield himself from the blast of his own magic by guarding with his arms, but the power behind it rammed him full force into a wall. A brutal smacking sound reverbated and the wall was cracked in the shape of his body, but he took the impact without serious injury, even without his barrier.

Silence suddenly filled the room as Shiro once again used his sword to absorb his magic. The world stopped shaking and the constructs of the earth that rolled towards the priest in attack fell and crumbled away.

Slumping down from where he'd been thrown alongside falling chips of armored concrete and raw stone, Fate landed steadily on the ground in one knee. Shiro did not appear to be doing anything else, so the mage held himself there for a moment. He noted with desinterest his sleeves had ripped from the brunt of the magic blast he had taken, although the rest of his suit did not look so much better for the wear now. It wasn't important, so he regarded it without concern. And it was only with that returned coolness of mind that his attention was brought back to his surroundings.

'Ah. It appears I may have gone overboard.' he thought, taking in the devastation of the underground level.

His eyes went to Shiro before he rose from the ground and started slowly walking towards the man. Undoing his ruined tie and letting it fall, Fate approached his wounded and exhausted adversary and offered him a hand with a small smile.

"A good fight, Father Shiro. I hope that will suffice." he added, content about the exciting duel that he had briefly lost himself in.

Jonathan Mathews:

Everything just went SNAFU. Staff Sergeant Mathews, along with Specialist Cardigan, a Harlech Dragoon, and an Ogryn are now in an unfamiliar city all the while Cardigan's health is quickly deteriorating. He didn't know why she started gasping and vomiting, but he'll be damned if she were to die. Samantha was the only one of his squad to survive the assault on that maligned beast, the squad that he was sworn to take responsibility for! Hang on there, Sammy...

The Ogryn, who is apparently named Togg, was quick to sweep her up with one of his gigantic arms and carry her to where they need to go. The problem is is that Mathews has no idea whatsoever where the nearest Medicae Center was. The situation was getting worse; Samantha started to cough up blood...

"Sam, repeat after me," he tried to comfort her while grabbing hold of her left arm, "'Although my body is broken, although my blood pours away, although my time may end,the Immortal Emperor will greet me and embrace me with His holy aura, if only I constant to Him through this time of torment."

Samantha had to stop halfway through the prayer, lacking the strength to finish. Mathews didn't mind, he continued until it was finished. The Dragoon approached them, "She's not going to last, sergeant. She's afflicted with a disease from the Warp. It would be kinder to put her out of her misery." With that, she started to pull a Hotshot Laspistol from its holster on her belt.

"You will NOT kill her!" Jonathan all but shouted in response, shifting his body to block his squad mate. What the Dragoon said basically confirmed it; they were fighting daemons on Sephiron. As to why the average soldier was not privy to that knowledge was a question for later. Togg looked on, confused. "Togg, you watch over her. Nothing happens to her, you understand? I'm going to try to find us a ride."

The Ogryn nodded, and with a last withering look at the Dragoon, ran out from the alley way, snow crunching under his feet. It was fortunate that there was a wheeled vehicle coming up from the street, though he was unsure of the model. It mattered little, though. Jonathan ran out into the middle of the street and unholstered his Laspistol. He promptly fired it into the air, the red beam easily seen and the report easily heard.

Jonathan will find treatment for Specialist Samantha. She will not die this day...

Henry

Henry grimly gripped the steering wheel as he drove. His patient was not a human, but an immortal of some sort. Obviously neither a vampire or werewolf, or otherwise Forest would've categorized him earlier. But that was more of a reason to hurry up. Whatever malady this person is suffering, it is likely to be something troublesome. As he stepped deeper onto the gas pedal, Henry sped up the car to cross the street.

But he suddenly jolted at the sound of some sort of laser that shot up a scarlet red up in the sky, causing the car to come to a momentary stop. Whoever shot it was dressed in some form of military dress that is unlike the kind he has ever seen in his world. Henry simply felt like speeding through to avoid being hit or something. But he doubted that he could out-maneuver the laser fast enough with the car holding his equipment.

With the BMW braking near the shooter, Henry pressed down the button to roll down the window. The frost met his warm face as he looked to address the armed soldier.

"I'm in a bit of a hurry, but what do you want?"

Enkidu didn't react in time, surprised that the Sphinx would turn itself into an abrasive twister. He only had enough time to jump back to not end up sharing the same fate as the Hydra. However the tornado would be on him before he could land and get away. He knew that he couldn't escape unscathed, so he braced himself for the worst.

But assistance came in time. He couldn't do much but watch the wyrm surrounding his body in an attempt to shield him. The sheer violence of the wind would have been enough to uproot a large forest and sending the trunks flying everywhere. On top of that, sand and fire would cause added damage. Dragons were sturdy creatures. He could only hope this much wouldn't be life threatening.

"Thank you, friend."

Enkidu pondered over a way to counterattack. There wasn't much to do now that the opponent had taken the battle to the sky. The phoenix would probably not give up at that point but there were no guarantee it could win. Neither him nor the Wingless One could go to its help separately. Even if Enkidu could make his approach unnoticed, fighting a flying elemental beast in its element while unable of flight himself, was straight up suicide. However, he was not fighting by himself. His eyes drifted to his companion doing its best to endure the scathing hurricane upon them.

"I need you to throw me!!" He announced, ignoring the noises produced by the storm.

Amy

“How forward Fiore, but I don’t know if Mille would approve.” She winked at Fiore when she finished drying her off.  Amy herself was only in a shirt and panties so it the accusation most likely rang hollow.

She then left and got Fiore’s underwear from outside, it was similar to the set she was wearing before simply in different color, “Here you go, you have rather mature tastes it you know?”

---------------

Shiro

Shiro just panted in response to Fate’s question. He then slowly stood up and picked up his jacket and started collecting his keys, “Ya, that’s good.” He said when he was finished, “Is there anything you can’t do? Next you’re going to tell me you can fly”

Shiro then pulled his brightly glowing sword out of the earth before looking at it. Nodding he sheathed it and walked up to Fate, “Well it was a work out if anything. I feel that I was slightly outmatched, especially with the choice of terrain.”

He started to stretch a bit, “But really, for such a young guy you’re really strong.”

---------------

Benjamin

Benjamin simply raised an eyebrow as the man drove off into the Bounded Field. Well, his funeral.

He then simply walked away with his briefcases.

--------------

It was a while later and he had dropped off the cases at his boat docked in the river. He did not know why he felt like going for a walk, but he supposes it is good to move around a bit instead of waiting for new jobs and doing nothing.

That is until he ran into a familiar face. She had light brown hair and was dressed in incredibly out of place clothing, especially considering the light amount of blood. There was not a magus that associated with the Mage Association that did not know who she was, hell, there was probably not a person associated with the magical side of the world that did not know of her.

But even so, he simply walked up to her without so much as a care, “Well, even the Queen herself was sucked to this place it seems. What are the odds?”

Why it is not often that one runs into Barthomeloi Lorelei, the vice-director of the Mage’s Association, in the middle of the street after all.

--------------

Amelia – Random Park in the Nexus City

Amelia sat on a swing, dressed in long jeens and a jacket with scarf to keep her warm in the snow, softly going back and forth. Around the park parents were telling their kids who were playing in the newly falling snow to stay away from the odd girl on the swing, who looked to be in her late teens.

But Amelia was unaware of anything, simply deep in thought about the events of the last night. She did not LIKE to kill, but it had to be done. Magic as evil, it corrupts people and causes suffering. Why couldn’t that nice woman understand that?

“Why doesn’t anyone understand” She softly mumbled, as she looked at the sky as she slowly swung back and forth.

Mordred

She steadily walked towards the direction from which she vaguely sensed her Master. In civilian clothes now, her pace was slow since she was pretty tired after the fight. Uh, he is not dead, but he is taking it long to find me she sulked.

It was strange for Law, how he could sense Mordred somewhat without even using the Boneyard. The bloodsplattered Firebird cruised down the streets, narrowing in on his Servant. Eventually, he found her, walking towards him on the sidewalk, looking haggard and exhausted. Pulling up along side her, he put the Firebird in park, rolling down the window. "You alright Mordred?"

No she isn't

'I can tell. Jesus, she's drained pretty badly. Going to need some serious Plasm to get her going.'

What about the Ritual?

'Even with that contract, I don't think Bug Man has the best interests of us at heart

I know. But he can't get us in the Underworld now can he?

'God, I hope not. We're going to need to make a LOT of deals though if shit goes bad.'

"Get in the car, we're getting the hell out of here."

 Grigori

Quote
“Such manipulation of flesh is impressive in its own way, especially in a monster such as that. Oh and hello Grigori, I hope you and an interesting time with that spirit last night, I was unable to locate you compleatly, only the general area you might have been staying. Rather impressive."

If Grigori was surprised by the magus' entrance she didnt show it. "It was a fascinating experience, Zolgen, and I am pleased that you were unable to find us. It would have been such a terrible waste to go through all that trouble just to be found so quickly."

As the monster explained how it was the "flood" that had nearly killed every living thing she was silent. It was either capable of growing much larger then it seemed or had the ability to make more of itself. A being that could twist and shape its flesh so easily could most likely do both. She narrowed her eyes and focused her gaze on the creature. Grigori enjoyed playing with the people in this city, and this creature could prove useful to her, but this area was a bit too exposed.

"Do you mind taking is to your workshop, Zolgen? This area is a bit too exposed, and there is much for us to discuss."

Paladin

Even though Paladin had doubts about the "plan" he followed Archive Hunter. They continued to run for a bit before AH suddenly stopped. Curious to see what could have stopped his friend Paladin moved ahead and saw an old man dressed in rags. Paladin didn't even have a chance to react before the elderly man shouted at him.

"YOU! YOU MURDERER! THE BLOOD OF THE INNOCENT STAINS YOUR BLADE!"

Paladin jumped back in surprise. He wasn't expecting the ancient man to be so loud.

"My apologies, elder, but I do not know what you mean. My friend and I have simply performed a sacrifice to Stribog. No innocents were harmed."

"LIES! THE DEFENSELESS BIRDS WERE SLAUGHTERED BY YOU!"

Suddenly the rage that the elder had expressed this entire time vanished, and he became unnaturally calm. Then he moved. Each strike was incredibly quick for a human, but the divine blessings of Stribog elevated Paladin to a level above normal humans. He moved back to dodge the blows, but he did not expect the old man's arms and hands to morph into the arms and paws of a bear. The elder's range had drastically improved, and the distance Paladin moved was not far enough to escape the attacks. He was knocked back towards Archive Hunter, and his immaculate armor now had deep cuts in it. Then the ancient fully transformed into an enormous bear, and began to chase him.

"Run, Hunter!"

With that said Paladin ran back towards the entrance and stopped in front of a manhole. He quickly carved a penguin into the ground using his sword for Archive Hunter to find, and then he used his sword to open the entrance to the sewer. He climbed down and closed the cover. Now Paladin would simply wait until Archive Hunter found him.

Asileron

The demon would have widened his eyes in surprise if he had any. Powerful spells were being used within the Aegis building, but nothing of this magnitude was used. Then dome of fire dissipated as Asileron stopped concentrating on it.

'If there is someone this powerful in this company, then a fight with their leader who either cast the spell or is stronger then the magus who did is dangerous.'

With this in mind Asileron sat on the bench again and waited for his turn to be interviewed.

PARIAH
Day 2

PARIAH stretched as his tendrils pulled his newest victim into his body. It fused seamlessly and PARIAH stopped stretching and started to walk away. He had never seen snow before, but the frown on his face showed how much he disliked the cold.

He looked around to see a somewhat strange sight. An teenager swinging in something that the memories told him was a swing, in a place called a playground. The memories told him that this was strange, and if this person was strange like him PARIAH wouldn't be alone anymore. Otherwise he would just consume everyone in the park and move on. He moved right in front of the teenager and asked,

"Are you like me?"

Just to show what he meant PARIAH ripped the swing set out of the ground with one hand, and waited for the girl's response.

What's that? thought Rider, looking up from her book as she felt a disturbing evil presence in the room.

Oh, God!

Rider jumped out of her seat as she noticed a wispy shadow form into the shape of a pitch-black owl and perch on Kiyoshi's chest, its yellow eyes peering into his. She could see Kiyoshi awaken in a panic, clearly extremely distressed at whatever this monstrosity was doing to him. Quickly, Rider changed into her battle outfit and, summoning her weapons, threw one of her nails in the direction of the shadow entity as she ran to Kiyoshi's side.

Kiyoshi, meanwhile, was panicking and attempting to scream, unsure of what was happening to him. He could feel himself being drained.

Amelia

Amelia fell out of her swing as the entire metal swing set was ripped out of the ground. Getting up and turning around in a panic she noticed it was simply a small boy that did it.

Eyes widening she looked around and noticing some people looking at them with panic, and so she moved to the boy and grabbed him before trying to pull him away.

However the boy did not budge and seemed to be stuck to the ground. So in her panic Amelia did the only thing she could. With all her strength she braced herself and set the boy flying into an ally way some distance away.

She simply stood there, that is until her mind caught up with her and she realized her action. Quickly looking around she grabbed her backpack and ran to where the boy landed.

“Oh my god, I AM SO SORRY.” Then then began to bow, constantly apologizing. “I didn’t mean to throw you like that. B-but you were causing a scene. You shouldn’t cause a scene like that, ITS BAD.” She ended in a slightly panicked yelling; it was obvious she was unsure about how to handle this situation.

Hunter of Strix

As the nail passed through his form, the Strix stopped devouring the breath of the child. The Hunter of Strix had drank it's fill from the form. It's thirst was for now, satisfied. Vitae itself was in it's body, yellow eyes suddenly focusing on the Spirit.

<I need you to leave. My brothers will not extend the same courtesy, and your presence here is but an annoyance to my plans. Or maybe a benefit. Stay then if you feel like it - if you can feel.>

Looking forward once more, he hopped onto the head of the bed, staring down at the two of them. Yellow eyes cocked to the side as he focused on the pair together without as much as a blink. <Besides, it's been a long time since I have talked to someone without a true body.>

Preening his wing, the Hunter of Strix continued 'talking', shadowy whispers projecting right into the head of these two pitiful beings. <Tell me, what is a whelp like that doing in the company of a being like you?>

"Whether you bow to the gods or abandon them, it does not truly matter if you are strong. I became the greatest king by being strong, and by being strongest, I shall leave your pathetic faithlessness in the dust!"

Perfect teeth ground together in a rage too great for any man to abate.

"You… you cur."

"What is the name of the song of the sandstorm?!"

"The rattling of dust on an empty breeze!"

A sword of such power, such magnitude of rending force shot through the air so that the very space through which it passed was torn apart. It had no name and it needed none, for it was one of the many treasures that belonged only to the greatest of heroes. It slammed against the tornado and forced from it to emerge the face of the Sphinx, seeking it's true nature continent-tearer's mighty visage.

In the instant after it's own destruction, three more followed, then twelve, then thirty, then eighty, then a hundred and more poured from the Gate of Babylon, that treasury that held the highest of places in legend, the golden glow that spread from each of its many portals visible from all corners of the city on this snowy night. Each weapon that shrieked and howled as it rent the very curtain of night that passed between the two kings, one the lesser, the other, every man's greater.

The Sphinx, great though it was, could not hold against the relentless barrage that the God-King unleashed, and spun with quiet force, its wrath abated before the power of the King. Part of it could be held to the fact that Ramesses's Reality Marble was not at full power, yet, in truth, it would be most deserving to attribute this might to the man - no, the Golden Hero that stood upon the hilt of a sword, regarding Ramesses in the air.

His visage was a mask of Death itself as he looked upon the one who claimed himself to be the greatest of kings, a silence filling the air and stealing away the breath of all who looked on. The tension in the air was such that a single movement would cut through it like a knife and sever the rope that held them still.

The King of Heroes spoke, and in speaking, bade all who stood there to listen, his own focus solely on Ramesses.

"…Know, liar, false of face and deeds, that you stand before the Original King, Gilgamesh, the first and greatest. I will not hold with the slander that you paint upon me, and yourself. The greatest? You are but a child, sculpting triangles from sand. The worth of a King is measured in more than temples and structures, stonemason."

---------------------

Soft snow crunched underneath his boots, leaving a marked trail behind the man as he approached the girl on the swings. He had noticed the parents moving their children away from the teenager, and taken pity on her. He passed almost silently through the falling snow, the brim of his hat drawn low over his eyes. The eternal wanderer stood silently beside her, in a moment of solidarity, before speaking.

"Hello, mi-"

Quote
"Are you like me?"

What.

There was too much confusion within this space for his liking. The swing set that the girl was sitting on was in the air and on the ground, followed moments after by a small boy - a great sickness set upon by Pestilence, the scourge of man, yet drawn from the deepest of the wells by man himself - tumbling past Wanderer, blowing both his coat and snow by as the sickness landed upon the ground of the alley he had passed only moments prior.

A single hand held itself out in front of her as the cowboy (flame trapped in human form) walked slowly up from behind her, motioning for the teen to wait a moment. He gave her a quick smile.

"It's all right, miss. He seems more resilient than you might expect."

With that being said, he approached the sickness cautiously, one hand held out to the side where it might grasp upon the hilt of an invisible sword, or within reach of the shotgun strapped to his back. He knelt down on the ground, his coat pooling around him, and regarded the boy with his eyes, his strange eyes that shifted color from one moment to the next, first blue than green than brown than blue again, cycling through colors fast enough that they almost seemed to blur into a myriad form.

"...Are you ...quite alright?"

----------------------

As the last remnants of the parasite burned away, leaving the skin beneath burned black from fire rather than the twisted black of the parasite, Karna's hand left Lucas' arm, fire dissipating like he had turned off the gas to a Bunsen burner.

"I am curing him of his parasidic problem, of course. This is naturally the quickest way to take care of it. Are there any issues with it? I understand your concern, but he can clearly take it and then some."

Lucas stirred as the parasite burned itself out of his body, his arm knitting itself back together as fast as the fire burned it. Twitching, the redhead weakly opened his golden eyes and took in the people surrounding him. He focused on the only two he knew, the blonde teenager and the tall, white-haired man, before sinking back into the infirmary bed. With a hiss, Lucas began to move his other arm, the bone audibly splintering as it cracked against the rebar embedded in it.

Giving up on moving it for now, the redhead looked at the crowd surrounding his bed one more time.

"...You need ...more plants."

Closing his eyes, the surly, pale-skinned man muttered a word that might almost have been interpreted as thanks.

Staff Sergeant Jonathan Mathews:
"I'm in a bit of a hurry, but what do you want?"
"A guardswoman is terribly sick. We need transportation to the nearest medicae facility. I beg of you, please help us!" Jonathan rung off, trying but failing to keep his voice calm.

Samantha was deteriorating at a fast pace before he left the group. Time is short, and he is more than willing to hijack the car and find a medicae center himself if he needed to.

Quote

Corporal Elizabeth Blackwell:

The sergeant didn't understand the gravity of the situation; a disease from a Nurgle Daemon is not a light matter. The suffering usually is far too much for the victim, and either pushes them to worship the Chaos God of Decay just to relieve the pain, or outright kills them. It is very likely that the guardswoman will turn from the Emperor's light, and become a cultist very much like the ones they were fighting not an hour before.

Elizabeth contemplated shooting the woman again. It would be a straight shot, and could be done before the Ogryn Bone 'ead could respond. It would put the Specialist out of her misery and save her soul. However, Elizabeth doubted that she would survive the wrath of the abhuman. It was certainly a dilemma she finds herself in now...

Fate

"Leviation is easy for me, and proper flight is simple by comparison." Fate answered, as though speaking of something like algebra or riding a bicycle.

The mage watched silently as the priest collected his scattered weapons and gear, while taking in the deformed arena around them more closely. He nodded, more at himself, at Shiro's evaluation of the match, while pouring magic into the walls and ceiling to somewhat fix the damage he had done. It was true that from a certain perspective, he had been unfair with Shiro fighting him here. But nonetheless, in a real fight it was a null concern, and the underground arena had restricted him in its own way.

The place in barely more presentable conditions than before, Fate dusted himself off absentmindedly, even if it would do nothing to fix his ruined suit, and adressed the priest again while he stretched.

"I may appear like this, but in truth I am just under a century in age."

[13:38:37] Helligator: Depends on the god, but gods by definition in Nasuverse are strong because they have divine authority.
[13:38:48] Kat: Even the toilet god?
[13:38:56] Helligator: No one worships toilets.
[13:39:00] Helligator: Don't be a shitlord.

[04:32:08] Helligator: I can't make dragons in power armor like this

[19:50:12] francobull III: [...] why are you being all assive aggressive?

[23:32:37] Helligator: use the narrative as a means to convey an interesting story and cool conflicts with the openness you're allowed
[23:32:43] Helligator: not to CHEAT stories and conflicts

Henry

Quote
"A guardswoman is terribly sick. We need transportation to the nearest medicae facility. I beg of you, please help us!" Jonathan rung off, trying but failing to keep his voice calm.

"Great, more problems," Henry thought with his brows furrowing together.

This guy was desperate as his voice let on. He was very familiar with desperation. It is something that can cause people to do anything. Even the evilest of deeds. Of course, this guy armed as he is, would probably try to hijack this car if he refused. No doubt he'd lose not only the equipment, but also the car and making it very likely to make today another bad day for Forest.

"Today's your lucky day, boy scout. So where's this 'guardswoman'?"
