Vlad Drăculea

"He introduced himself as Wiseman, though he claimed it was only a title. He described his person as a potent sorcerer as well, and from what I can tell, the declaration is not a light one. His interest was in supplying equipment, and performing any needed task relevant to his particular skill-set in exchange for payment."

"I see..."

Vlad watched Butler move to clean the room, contemplating on the idea of having a magician in the Order. He was, as a rule, not opposed to it, but magi in general did not mesh well with humans.

"His power at least, is obvious to any with the slightest sensibility," Butler said, respectfully. "And he seemed to me like a fairly serious and well-cultured individual. If nothing else, he may be worthy of your personal assessment, my lord."

"Yes, I believe he is..." Vlad studied the golden dragon intently for a moment. "His inclusion could prove quite beneficial. I will see him when the time has arrived."

Ezra breathed out.

He was surrounded by a circle of blood, but other than that, he was fine. No visible injuries other than his palm, and he hadn't strained himself in winning. His only regret was that he had been forced to use the Lance against humans again. Again, and again, Ezra had been forced to use his birthright, and each time weighed on him.

He had been unable to avoid fighting the two would-be muggers - the threat of violence and killing was enough for his curse to trigger, and his body had moved in response to their guns before he even knew what had happened.

Ezra shook his head, and began to move away, his expression tinged with regret. He'd had enough of fighting for one day. He just wanted to go home and lie down on his bed, maybe stop at a bar and just forget for a little while.

That was when he noticed her, the silver-haired, smiling girl. Something in his blood stirred at her smile, at the jangling of her bells, at the small doll she carried with her. The hairs on the back of his neck were standing up, and for Ezra, that had never been a good sign.

She laughed without noticing him, and was gone. His hackles raised, Ezra slowly peered around the corner she had disappeared from. Unsurprisingly, there was no one there. On the building in front of him, though...

He heard the jingle of bells.

Ezra made his way into the building slowly, looking around at the devastated floor. Blinking, he made for the stairs, not seeing any sign of the girl. It was a little foolish of him, he knew, but it was better to know what she was instead of letting her roam free, he thought.

When he got to the roof, he heard her light, childish voice. She was talking to a trio of young humans, with a blonde woman, a red - and white - haired man, and a... a something next to them.

Ezra squinted at the last, brown-haired man, and for a second, could see something indistinct hovering behind him. Either way, something was definitely not right. Ezra quietly paused in the light cover of snow a little ways behind the girl, looking to to all the world like an awkward, homeless man.

...He wasn't quite sure what to do, but waiting to see what would happen seemed like as good an idea as any. Almost unconsciously, Ezra's right hand curled, his nails barely touching the scabs that had formed there. He didn't want to be surprised.

EMIYA SHIROU

It’s her. It really is Saber. His eyes grew wide as he stared at the vampire but not truly seeing her. Had the young woman who had once been his servant been transported here instead of going to that hill to die? He felt a rush of both anticipation and dread at the thought of seeing her again after so many years. His mood then stooped into melancholy, knowing that things would be different between him and Saber now.

The man over by the stairs spoke up, stating that he would be going with Forest. He was shivering, unsurprising due to how cold it was up here. Shirou knew that he should be just as cold, but in recent years he had found himself more resistant to the numbing chill of high altitudes.

The faint sound of bells drew the sniper’s attention, and he looked over to the edge of the skyscraper to see a little girl standing there, her long white hair nearly concealing shining ruby eyes. Something felt off about her, but he knew enough to tell there wasn’t any malice coming from the girl. She skipped over to him and Forest, asking if they wanted to play with her. Shirou opened his mouth to tell her no, and that she had no business being up here without a guardian when a memory interrupted him.

”Onii-chan, let me stay with you!” The former master of Berserker looked at him beseechingly, both hands held to her chest, crimson eyes wide with both fear and hope.

Shirou blinked, surprised at the sudden memory. It had been a long time since he had recalled Illya so vividly. He closed his mouth, unable to deny the girl before him. She wasn’t the little girl who had adopted him as an older sibling, but the similarities made his heart ache in a way he hadn’t felt in years.

Lawrence glanced at the small girl.

Instinct took over as he saw her. She wasn't like him. Death and misery clung to her like a close friend, a diabolical nature concealed behind smiles and a human facade. The doll oozed something dangerous, something flickering at his mind like the phantasmal key. Her body had nothing dead within it but he knew she wasn't truly living something within his gut screaming at him that she was wrong and not meant to be. She. Shouldn't. EXIST. What was human, was barely there. She was more... other. She flickered and faded and warped the twilight with her giggly voice.

She wasn't like him. Her body wasn't even human. It wasn't spirit. It was an abominable mix of the two, that he could see shining at him like a pheonix.

No. No. No. WHAT IS SHE.

Something to fear.

He felt fear. He felt rage. The key twisted, his own armor coming up around him. The Stigmatic Shroud blazed around him in the Twilight, blood dripping from his hands as he drew his pistol leveling it right at the girl's head. The hammer pulled back again, finger tensing on the trigger, grip safety clicking off without hesitation.

"Forest. Get. Away. Now." Lawrence's voice was as cold as the wind.

If he died again, he'd die fighting.

Forest

Forest blinked at Calico's reaction to Saber.

"My closest friend was a version of my former Master.  He had regrets about not 'saving' me, and it lead him on a dangerous path that he suffered needlessly for.  All he wanted to do was save others, but did not have the sense to try to save a group but yearned to save everyone."

Before Forest could even point at Calico and ask, "Hey, are you Archer?"  a young girl bounded on the roof with them.  Something about her made Forest's blood run cold as the crimson eyed girl approached.

“Hey, hey” She smiled, a bright innocent smile with no malicious intent, “Do you want to play a game with me?”

Forest felt her nose crinkle as the hairs on the back of her neck and arms stood on end.  Ice knotted in her gut and before she could ask the little girl what she was doing here, when Law said in a cold voice,
"Forest. Get. Away. Now."

She turned and looked at Calico/Archer, who was staring at the girl like he saw a ghost and Law with his gun out again.  The girl was just peering up at them with innocent curiosity, but there was something off about her.  She's not human, Fae, or Vampire, but what is she?

Saber

"You know she is a vampire, correct?  Do not hold that against her; it was something she had forced upon her," Saber said as she huddled into her leather coat.  "Now, do these doughnuts have sprinkles?"

Mia

Mia gained a happy look as she gazed up at the man and woman, taking their lack of denial as acceptance, her eyes shining with excitement so pure and innocent that they could blind someone, “You will play with me?! Really?! Like, really really?! You didn’t say no so that means you will play! Right?!”

She hopped in place; her hands spread apart, “YAY!”

“What should we play fir-“She was cut off by a soft click and a voice, causing her to stop hopping and turn around to look at the source.

"Forest. Get. Away. Now." The other man’s voice was cold, holding a metal toy of some kind.

She looked at the man for a moment, almost if trying to understand what he was doing. Then she finally spoke.“Why do you have that toy pointed at me mister, I just want to play.”

"Hmmm," she hummed as she looked up at the clouds, “Hide and seek maybe. No, tag would be more fun.” She declared as she nodded, before looking back at the man.

She asked with a tilted head, her voice softer than before, but the curiosity was evident. “Do you not want me to play? Are you going to try and hurt me like that man did?”

She paused one more time before saying one final thing, “Are you a meanie?”

And at the exact moment, with those words, there was something else in her eyes as he looked at the man. It was almost as if her eyes were telling the man, ‘Don’t you dare interrupt my playtime.’ But as soon as it was there it was gone, and it was doubtful that even the girl was aware of such a momentary shift.

Ezra Longinia

Ezra started as the girl jumped to attention, overjoyed the the trio on the other end of the roof hadn't turned her away. He hadn't wanted to believe it, but that kind of mood swing could be the next sign of something bad, inhuman. At this point, it didn't matter.

He took a step forward only to freeze as the brown-haired man lifted his gun, pointing it directly at the girl. Around him, something was writhing, hazy and indistinct - whatever it was, there was a lot of it. Ezra's right hand tightened, his nails pressing against the small holes in his glove. He'd put them there for ease more than anything else.

The girl was questioning the man, and something she said struck Ezra as he quietly approached her.

“Do you not want me to play? Are you going to try and hurt me like that man did?"

The words slipped out, unbidden, from his lips.

"...That man?"

Ezra immediately winced, his slip of the tongue giving away his presence to the group. Well, more like drawing their attention away from the girl. He had his doubts that she, at least, hadn't noticed him. The only thing to do now was to play it safe before she finally proved what she was - whatever she was - and back up a little.

Having said that, Ezra still stood in the snow, unable to get away without it becoming remarkably obvious.

Lucas

Lucas gritted his teeth at Crest. His arm was slowly, very slowly, knitting itself back together, tendrils of muscle embracing shards of bone, patches of skin appearing haphazardly. He didn't know why it wasn't instantaneous, but the black-haired man had immediately become the biggest thread. He had to force the both of them to leave.

The woman started to run at him from behind as the man readied his swords, but Lucas was more than ready for here. His foot pounding against the earth again and pushing him forward, his hand dug into the ground and threw a clod of soil right at Caedia's face as he accelerated.

Moving towards Crest, the resident broke up his path by dashing, kicking off of the ground in a zig-zag. He was at the hunter almost before Crest knew he was coming. Lucas saw that his eyes had turned black, and immediately braked, sending his body straight into the air towards the wall of the store. Landing, he paused on the wall for a moment before his next attack, seeming to have even left gravity surprised at the sudden halt.

Then, he kicked off of the wall and hit the bookshelf with his foot, forcing it down on Crest with supernatural force.

EMIYA SHIROU

The white haired girl promptly assumed that his silence was a “yes”, and happily jumped up and down while thinking aloud about what game to play and damn it why was she so much like Illya? Before he had time get his tongue working again, there was the tell-tale click of a gun being cocked.

Law had taken offense to the little girl’s presence and was looking down the barrel of his pistol at her. Behind Law was a newcomer, a tall man with long hair standing just outside of the stairway doors. Although it was odd that he had suddenly arrived without being noticed he seemed normal enough, and there was the more urgent matter of a drawn weapon to pay attention to.

Ojou-san was talking to Law now, much more subdued than before. Her oddly polite and fearless demeanor as though not understanding that she was in danger only continued to remind him of Illya, and before Shirou knew it, he was standing between the girl and the gunslinger.

“She is just a girl, drop the weapon,” he spoke in his shoddy English, looking Law in the eyes. The magus carefully began to draw out the blueprint for his twin swords, watching closely in case the other man’s trigger finger got too itchy.

Mr. Tar

Henry grunted in affirmation.

"I won't. I know not all vampires are monsters. And half of the donuts have sprinkles, so go on, I'll start saving data." He said, reaching into his jacket to produce his phone.

Butler

Fifteen minutes had elapsed since Butler had asked Wiseman to wait. And so he appeared at his side once more with a gracious bow.

"Lord Vlad will see you now." He declared, continuing in a restrained tone, "Please do follow me."

Moving at a slow and deliberate step through the mostly renovated halls, past sets of armor, banners of the Order Of The Dragon and red carpets, Butler led Wiseman to his master's throne room. He knocked once, as customary, then opened the door and beckoned Wiseman to follow. Leading on his right, following the great carpet to Vlad's shadowed throne, he stopped and bowed deeply once he was at little less than two yards from it.

"Lord Vlad. I present the sorceror, Wiseman." Butler said. Turning his head to Wiseman and rising from the bow, he continued in a strong tone, "This is Lord Vlad Drăculea, the supreme leader of the Ordo Dracul, and master of this castle."

With a polite nod, Butler stepped back, shifting away to bring them the tea he had prepared.

Lawrence ignored the voice behind him, putting it down to the girl's influence. Hopefully. "She's not just a little girl. I don't want to kill you, but I won't lose sleep over it. Step away from her." Law's eyes were hardened, as they locked with Shirou's, his intent
perfectly clear.

"And maybe I do wanna play a game girl. I love games. I like hide and seek a lot. Why don't you go hide, and never seek me."

Harsh.

I don't want to kill him. I don't want to kill her if I don't need to. She's too... human.

The wind whispered a laugh. So are you. Pull the trigger. He tried to kill you. Don't let him try again.

The thought was tempting. But it'd be crossing a line he'd sworn to respect.

Crest:

The woman charged at the enemy, but she was quickly blinded by dirt thrown at her face by the enemy.

Then it charged at him, before stopping and jumping back and landed on a wall. Crest didn’t care and simply waited for the thing to advance. Then it threw itself at the bookcase, making it fall on Crest.

Ignore it. Deny it. Reject it.

Rejection of Matter.” He said out loud. The darkness of the rejection traveled down from his blades and covered the entirety of his arms. He then swung both his arms arms, and the bookcase was cleaved in two.

No, it was more than that; it was more like wherever his arms passed there was simply no more bookcases. No splinters, so shards, no nothing. And that gave him and opening, preventing the bookcase from crushing him.

Then he swung at Lucas, the darkness expanding his reach, who was still in the air from when he pushed over the bookshelf with his blow.

Forest

Forest sighed and stood between Law, Calico Archer, and the girl.  Then she pulled out her .44 Magnum and pointed it downwards.  She turned the safety off and squeezed the trigger.  Fire shot out from the barrel as the gun shout roared out, hopefully getting everyone's attention.

She held up her gun and said, "Alright you supernatural screwheads, this is my boomstick!  Look Law, please don't shoot Calico Archer here, if he's who I think he is, it'll make her very sad.  Even though he's a cosmic wanker."

Then she turned towards the girl and and sighed.  She said, "I'm sorry poppet, I don't have time to play right now.  There's a nasty monster about and I need to make sure it doesn't hurt anyone else."

Saber

"I will return before you realize I am gone," Saber said with a grin before going to Henry's car and returning with doughnut.

Mia

Mia grabbed onto the man’s arm, holding onto it tight, as he stood between her and the meanie, all the while glaring at the meanie with her bright red eyes, which seemed to start glowing.

“You’re a meanie, meanies should be punished.” She said softly, but the hostility in her voice was obvious.

Then a loud bang caused to her to jump, forcing her to turn her head to look at the woman, however she still held tightly onto the man’s arm. She was holding a small metal toy in her hand, pointing it at the ground. There, directly below it was a hole in the floor.

Her eyes widened as she looked at the woman, but it was not one of fear, but wonder. All she saw was a fun toy to play with, but before she could say anything about it however the woman spoke up.

She held up the toy, "Alright you supernatural screwheads, this is my boomstick!  Look Law, please don't shoot Calico Archer here, if he's who I think he is, it'll make her very sad.  Even though he's a cosmic wanker."

Then she turned towards at Mia, whoes look of wonder still hasn’t faded.  She said, "I'm sorry poppet, I don't have time to play right now.  There's a nasty monster about and I need to make sure it doesn't hurt anyone else."

Mia pouted and got really quiet, that is until she seemed to have a realization of sorts. And with it she finnally let go of the man's arm.

“Oh, so there is a bad guy. Don’t worry; good girls should catch the bad guys. And since I am a good girl I will do it!” She said excitedly, almost as if Forest has offered to play another game with her, as she started to walk around the roof, spinning in circles with her arms outstretched.

The truth that Mia’s mind saw was probably not actually too far from that. To her, what she came up with was nothing more then a game.

“I am super strong! I’ll stop all the bad guys and meanies! Then we can play a game! Ok?!” She continued, her voice getting more and more excited as she talked.

The oddest thing was the weird certainty in which she said these things. Perhaps it was just a child’s innocence, but in truth it was something more, something more fundamental then that.

Then, she did something that was probably a bad sign. She turned to Law, the meanie, as her eyes shined red in the darkness.

“I will start by beating him, he was a meanie, and good girls beat all the meanies.” She said with a wide smile and horrifying cheer.

Caedia

The time it took for the Arisen to rub the dirt out of her eyes was long enough to allow the creature to move to assault her ally. She quickly sheathed her sword and fired another Sixfold Bolt aimed at her airborne enemy's head just as her companion swung at him with blades of shadow.

Wiseman

The aura that the lord of this castle exuded was an oppressive thing that pushed down on Wiseman's being. However Wiseman had stood in the presence of beings that had surpassed this force tenfold and he would not allow himself to be cowed by this. He bowed, not low enough to to imply that he was subservient or high enough to show disrespect, but just enough to show that he held respect to the being who owned this castle.

"It is a pleasure to meet you in person, Lord Drăculea. I am Wiseman, Grand Sorcerer and Adviser to the city-state of Cujam. Considering the skill and experience of your butler I have no doubt that he has already informed you of my intentions here. In that case all that is left for the both of us is to know if you will accept me into your service."

With a nerve-wracking explosion, Grendel's ship, the Adept's Fury plunged from the Warp directly above a strange city.

"Frak!" was all the Inquisitor had time to say before his personal ship clipped one of its armament loaded wings on a smokestack sending it into a dizzying spin as what was left of the crew and the servitors, aside from him and his co-pilot, who were both strapped into their chairs by crash-harnesses, were flung about the craft with sickening crunches. Sealed within the pilot's chamber, the two tried desperately to try to correct the spinning fall, the other wing shorn off by collision with a manufactorum building in the meanwhile, when the craft finally came to a halt, slamming into yet another building hard enough to knock both pilots out. By the Emperor's grace, it would seem, the nose of the ship was pointed out of the building, and there was a clearing nearby. With some rudimentary tech stolen from the Eldar, the pilots' chamber, a smallish ball relative to the rest of the ship, blasted off the ship and away from the building, plowing into the park as it comes to a rolling stop, knocking a few walls down before finally being stopped by a decently thick slab of concrete wall.

Grendel comes to shortly afterwards, the survival cocoon's systems administering a quick shot of Stimm through his pilot's chair as his eyes shoot open from the drug.

Take a brief moment to calm himself as the needle retreats back into the pilot's seat, Grendel turns to the pilot to find him dead due to the crash jarring one of his restraints loose, leaving him with half his skull intact and the other half splattered all over the cockpit from slamming into the ship's control board. Heaving a tired sigh, Grendel retrieves the co-pilot's ammo pouch, not bothering with his tags as his name has been scrubbed from most Imperium records anyway, checks his knife's sheath to ensure it's still attached, and pushes a button that trigger a set of explosive bolts, blasting his door away as he climbs out to observe the city around him.

"...Still a better landing than Cantus," Grendel remarks, remembering having to use his own robes as a parachute when he fell off the improvised landing device his cell had made when their ship had been shot down. From a mile off the ground.

The area around him seems to have once been part of a Forge World, with broken down manufactorums surrounding him. Not too far away, Grendel notes that there seems to be some artificial light

Reaching back into the survival cocoon, Grendel removes a small stub carbine, checking it over before throwing the broken gun away with a sound of disgust. The Inquisitor makes his way over to his crashed ship, checking for the frag grenades and the rope, when the survival cocoon behind him implodes, incinerating itself.

Looking behind him with a curse, Grendel turns back around and the groan of over-stressed metal to see the ship starting to fall out of the building. Horrified, the Inquisitor sprints away surprisingly quickly if one were to consider his bulk, a remnant still present from his days as an Acolyte. What's left of the ship behind him falls out of the building with a cloud of dust from the building's own material's, crashing down onto the road before its sub-light engines detonate, consuming the ship in a massive fireball.

Miraculously, Grendel manages to avoid most of the shrapnel, the little that gets to him being block by his Rosarius.

When the roar is silenced, Grendel gets up to look at the flaming wreck of his ship, before glancing down at his Rosarius to find that the Warp energies and this final task burned it out, rendering it useless.

Cursing some more, Grendel briefly considers throwing the useless mark of office away before mastering himself, noting that the Rosarius is more than a shield. It will likely be the only proof of his authority on this backwards Forge World.

With these thoughts in mind, Living Saint Inquisitor Adept Castus Grendel takes a moment to figure out his next course of action.

Mordred

The car was close enough to the crash site for it to be shaken by the shockwave. Fortunately, Mordred was good enough driver to react in time and she managed to regain control over the vehicle. "For fuck's sake, what is going on with this bloody city!" She left the car "Damn it, something crashed in the building! Change in plans, old man, I don't know what happened there, but there could be some survivors or people needing help. I'm not going to leave it like that."
