Rider leaned forward, over the bed, and placed Sakura's head on the pillow, before releasing her hold on the girl. then, gently, she took hold of Sakura's legs and removed them from their grip around her waist, laying her flat in the bed.

Once Sakura was placed in the bed, Rider bent down and picked up the teddy bear lying by the bed's side, placing it gently beside her master, where she could take hold of it if she wished. Then, finally, she replaced the covers and, gently, tucked her beloved master into her bed.

"Sleep well, Sakura", she said, gently, before walking away from the bed slightly and turning to address Faust.

"I think I shall stay and watch over her. I am sure she has some books that will be interesting to read", she said, quietly, so as not to wake Sakura.

"Before you leave, though, your previous comment about seeing Sakura's dreams has made me curious. What exactly do you know of her past?", she added.

The Fanged Foursome

The "young" woman was silent as the four approached.

Drusilla skipped in front of her and said, "Lost your way from home, dearie?  We are Kindred, but not clan."  Then she chuckled and sort of pirouetted back to Spike.

Spike lit a cigarette and said, "Welcome to Nexus, a real, right cesspool."

"A hive of scum and villainy," Buffy chimed in with a grin.

Angelus smiled, all devilish Black Irish Charm. "For your sake, you'd better not be one of those annoying as hell do-gooder vampires with a hero complex."

"If she is, I can take care of that," Buffy said with a grin, green eyes glinting savagely, "I was a Slayer after all."

Sakura softly whimpered as Rider put her down and laid her on the bed. She then rolled over and grabbed the bear when Rider placed it next to her, repositioning herself into a fetal position with the bear locked tightly inside her limbs, as if she was holding onto it for dear life. She murmured something almost inaudible, before falling silent once more.

I don’t think you should stay in here, she needs her rest, and your presence may disturb her sleep. If you want to find a good book to read, I have a large collection downstairs, and a discussion about what I know will take too long and be too disruptive to have in here. Come, I’ll show you to the library.”

AKIHOLARME

His name is Donkey? The dragonborn’s mouth twitched in amusement and she had to suppress the urge to refer to the dark skinned man as Ass instead.

“Ah, I assume you to be Rebeca’s other companion. Call me Aki. I am new to these parts and your friend has offered to let me travel with her for the moment,” she said while giving him a nod in greeting. His clothes, while odd, were just as strange and colorful as everyone else’s she had seen thus far. What truly caught her attention was the odd device he had been riding on. Its shape reminded her a little bit of the grinding wheels used by the weapon smiths she once frequented. “Interesting, it appears that the Nexus has no need for horses. I could find use from such a device.”
"Well, that's awful nice of her," I say while giving a quick look to Rebecca. She looked... somehow deflated. "Though, I couldn't tell you where to find a bike shop. I'm a little new around these parts myself."

I got off my bike to marry my feet to the ground again, and then divorce and remarry them a couple times to take a few steps towards the ladies.

"So, uh, Aki? Where are you headed?" I ask her, fully intent on seeing her to her destination first. People carrying weapons get priority all day every day. Donkeys second.

Gym ain't going nowhere, unless it's a gym on legs. Which, somehow, I find highly doubtful.

Rider smiled as Sakura grasped hold of the bear tightly, happy that she had guessed that the bear was somehow important to her. She prepared to take a seat in the room and watch over Sakura but, before she could, Caster spoke once more.

"I don’t think you should stay in here, she needs her rest, and your presence may disturb her sleep. If you want to find a good book to read, I have a large collection downstairs, and a discussion about what I know will take too long and be too disruptive to have in here. Come, I’ll show you to the library", he said.

"Hmm...", Rider said quietly, pondering the situation.

"Well, I've never disturbed her before, but that was when I was in spiritual form. I guess there's no harm in leaving her alone, I'll be able to tell if she needs help. And, I am interested in seeing your book collection, as well as hearing what you know of Sakura's past", she added, preparing to follow him to the library.

Rider suspected she knew where it was already, but it was possible that Sakura had used another room for that purpose. The original one was, after all, rather tainted by the person who had once used it....

Deborah

Finally, those who stalked Deborah showed up. She was pretty uneasy surrounded by four vampires and in a territory alien to her, and one could notice that. The best course of action was to try and explain herself: "I apologize if I'm somewhere where I should not be, but you're right, I'm lost and without any clue wherever I ended up. I don't plan to 'poach' here or make trouble, I just seek knowledge of the place".

(OOC: short post, but I'm in bad condition).

Sarse

The Angel of Choice followed Ann's presence in the Symphony as she abruptly got up and flew away. His mind briefly processed the fact she really did have a huge amount of control of her vessel, and wondered what exactly had drawn her attention such that it even stopped her mid-sentence. The celestial wasn't very worried - her power was obvious enough that he should notice if she got into anything that could be particularly disruptive. But he surprised himself with the unease her leave of presence incited.

With the momentary respite of solitude, he allowed himself to sigh. His dish was about half-eaten, but Ann had barely touched hers, too busy stealing food from his plate (and his fork). What a unique grim reaper he had ran into, truly. Well, she shouldn't mind if he took some of her pasta as payback.

As he stretched his fork-wielding hand towards Ann's plate, he noticed one of the waitresses walking over with the wine his companion had ordered on a whim, and pulled back with a cough. That had been faster than he expected, but there weren't that many people in the italian restaurant at the time other than them, and they were all having quiet meals by comparison. The mid-twenties something woman approached with a smile, but blinked in confusion as she noticed the missing occupant.

"Did your miss have to go?" she asked, hesitating in the tilting of the bottle towards his glass.

Sarse contained a snerk inside his throat, and waved the question off, "She's not my miss, but feel free to serve her. She'll be back soon."

Probably. Hopefully.

Faust nodded at Rider’s response, and silently led Rider back through the darkened hallway and down the creaky stairs.

Faust gave a terse nod to Rider, "Alright, follow me." He led her through the house, down the darkened halls and stairs, ending up at a door leading to a lower level. He opened the door, "After you."

Rider followed Faust down the stairs and through the hallways, wondering where he was heading.

This isn't where the library was, she thought.

They kept walking, heading in the direction of the basement where Sakura had been tortured for so many years. Rider pondered where he could be taking her as they approached the basement door. As she went to walk past the location where the door to the basement had been hidden, she couldn't help but notice that the door had been replaced by something much more modern.

To her shock, though, instead of continuing on down the corridor, Caster stopped outside the basement door, and opened it.

"After you", he said.

Rider froze for a moment, shocked at where he was heading.

"Your library is down there?" she said, the shock clear in her voice.

“Yes, it is. Is there a problem? I think it’s better than leaving it the way it was, and it’s a perfectly good room now that I’ve cleaned it up and repurposed it. Sakura doesn’t like coming down here, but I don’t like the idea of such a flagrant waste of space.” He gestured down the stairs. “Now come on, don’t be squeamish. I have a fairly good-sized collection, I’m sure you’ll find something to your liking.”

Henderson, having reacquired Rupert, makes his way out of the hospital, seemingly oblivious to the random white pony that passed him. He then makes his way back to his car, starts up the engine, and pulls out of the parking lot, some of the air intake to the engines being redirected to fill up the tanks that would fill up the raft the next time it would be needed, though the process might take a bit. Henderson resumes cruising through Nexus city, only now noticing that his car seems to be missing all of its windows.

"Should probably go get that fixed..." he notes to himself.

With that, Henderson adds something else to his current search list.

  • Lawn Gnomes
  • Part-time job
  • Window repair
  • Weed
  • A decent bottle of Jack

Adjutor woke up quickly, but didn't move from his current position, allowing himself some time to properly wake up and gauge his current situation.

No more combatants around. No signs of any presences around here.

Likely that we were abandoned. Yet again.

Likely...Not like this is anything new for us, though. However...something smells like...tar. There's only asphalt around here, so...maybe another battle?

Another possibility, so that might be how we were left behind...

Question is why...

While pondering this, Adjutor finally opens his eyes, now the opaque silver that had been made their natural color, and takes a look around, examining the traces of mana left over from the spirits and any spells that had been cast.

Let's see...I passed out somewhere over there, he notes, walking over to that general area, noting that it was far removed from where he had woken up, Then one of them must have picked me up...Moved over here...

Adjutor then notices a strong odor of...something.

Mother of god, what is that?! Adjutor quickly backs out of the general area, clearing his throat as he looks at the area from a bit further away.

...Fire magic, likely to melt the asphalt, thus why this place smells like tar...

Then Adjutor makes his way back into the hospital and stops, surprised at the sight of the destroyed hallway marked by suspiciously familiar mana.

The one girl, Sakura...Perhaps that Sorcerer?

The other one, that woman with the horse, seems far more likely to have something capable of this. I mean, these gouges in the walls are generally at the height that the wings would be...And I wouldn't doubt that it would be able to do this...Therefore, it seems likely that Sakura also contracted with her, then someone else showed up and they decided to retreat. They probably left me behind to distract the new combatant, but whoever it was seems to have ignored me.

Adjutor considers all of this, then sighs to himself as the conclusion is formed and summarily filed away for later recall.

"I can't really hold it against them, as it seems like there was another battle..." Adjutor notes, pacing for a moment, "But, even so, it really shouldn't be surprising that we're alone again."

Considering this, Adjutor allows a mirthless laugh as he makes his way through the ruined hallway, calling up his healing magic and separating the Concepts invoked. While doing this, he makes his way into a staff lounge and changes out of the scrubs and back into the attire he came here in, the black tunic and grayed leggings, complete with all the sheathes, before he summons the Elementals to him, reverting them back to their sword forms, and sheathing them one by one as he makes his way out of the lounge and back into the hallway.

"Repair. Perfect," the teen notes, taking a moment to call up the Concept, focusing for a moment before gathering the mana required and casting it, the hallway quickly repairing itself behind him. Adjutor climbs out of the hole in the wall just before the Concept reaches it, reassembling all the damaged material into its original state and filling the void in so that there was no sign of it having ever been there.

The mana trail continues through the city, with the familiar taint of Sakura's signature eventually leading him to a curious mansion surrounded by bounded fields, and seemingly patrolled by familiars, all of them with a trace of the Sorcerer's mana, which in turn carried a slight taint of Sakura's signature.

Front door?

Maybe if they hadn't left me in the middle of a parking lot.

Adjutor slips into a nearby shadow, navigating the shadow paths onto the property and eventually making his way into the manor. Upon slipping out of the shadows, he finds himself in what seems to be a bedroom. This is evident from the slight sound of snoring, combined with the sight of a now familiar girl lying on a bed, sound asleep as she cuddles a teddy.

She's actually kinda cute while she's asleep...

Adjutor immediately slips out of the room, closing the door behind him with a slight blush as he rallies his thoughts for another Concept. This time, he applies Soundproofing to himself, silencing his movements completely as he makes his way down to the lower levels, slipping into the shadows once more and making his way further into the manor before popping out in...a library?

...Well, it makes sense that Sorcerer would be a bookworm.

Booooring...

Now now, there might be some books in here we haven't see before.

Hope so.

With these thoughts in mind, Adjutor removes the sheathes, arranging them around a nearby chair, and slides into the chair nonchalantly before looking around for a moment and reaching out with an Armogarian tendril to snatch a random book from a shelf and start reading, uncaring of any presences observing him.

Saber turned to another man. One that Rin hadn't noticed before, odd.

"Whoever you are, if you do have magic that can somehow track from the pools of blood or something like that, that'd be useful. Not that I have any idea who you are or what you can do, soooo..."

Grendel takes a moment to consider this word that the newcomer used, 'Thaumaturgy'. Then he hears the more familiar word, though this one immediately puts him on guard.

"If, by Sorcery, you are referring to Warp powers, then no, I do not possess them," he says, bristling, "There were a few psykers amongst my retinue, but they died in the Warp surge that brought me to this world. If this world does take in people from as many universes as you say it does, I would not be surprised if the talent itself has developed differently in those alternate universes. As for these bloodstains, I had some equipment on my ship that would be able to tell you how the exact location of the murderer. However, my ship was destroyed when I crashed down in a nearby Manufactorum away."

Grendel takes a moment to look around at the shop, considering his surroundings and the people in front of him as he reaches in and produces his rosarius.

"This symbol of office is probably useless," he says, "But I am Inquisitor Adept Grendel, of Ordo Malleus. What I do is seek out and erase the enemies of the Imperium. My branch specializes in hunting demons and abominations of the Warp, but this scene looks like it would be familiar to a member of Ordo Xenos, who specialize in hunting aliens, as you might call them, and the occasional mutant, though that usually falls under the purview of Ordo Hereticus."

Grendel then takes a quick look over the newcomer.

"Judging from your attire, or lack thereof," he says, noting the lack of a Psychic Hood, "You don't seem to be a sanctioned Psyker. Regardless, I am not unaccustomed to investigative tasks, though things tend to get..." Grendel considers the words for a moment, "messy."

David

The dream that lived took in his surrounding on the park bench he sat on. It was exceptionally quiet except for the sounds of insects and the movement caused by the occasional person. The moon and stars Next to him was his two other 'siblings'. A woman with skin that was the color of snow and bright golden eyes. She was dressed in golden silks that looked as if they had been crafted by a master of the art and it was decorated with multiple patterns that spiraled around the dress. Her every movement was filled with extraordinary grace and her laughter was beautiful. A sharp laugh filled with so much happiness and joy that the world seemed so much more pale and cold without it. The Joyous laid on the bench on her back and her head rested in David's lap and continued to giggle and laugh at absolutely nothing at all.

To his right sat The Scholarly, clothed in a nondescript grey robe. He looked considerably more old than the other two on the bench and his posture was straight as his hands fiddled with books and artifacts. His eyes drifting across entire pages in mere instances as he memorized the information and categorized them. Compared to the carefree playfulness of his sister or the calm easygoing attitude of his brother the aged man was in a constant state of motion as he finished the books and quickly moved onto other distractions. A ring, a small medal rod, a medallion, a small bundle of ethereal cloth, and countless other objects that The Scholarly fiddled with before it stopped and began to speak to its brother.

David raised a single eyebrow from his position as his brother spoke with the voice of a fire, and a sound not unlike the crackling of a flame was released from the aged man's mouth. He quickly responded and said, "I don't think we're wasting time at all, Brother. You should learn to relax more often. We rarely get to do so after all."

A disgruntled look overtook the elder's face but The Scholarly simply resumed his activities. It was the truth after all, and while they certainly weren't well known protectors they had established a small reputation. It wasn't something that The Scholarly or The Joyous would normally do, but he had asked it of them, and how could such inferior illusions ever disobey the dream that was the closest to their creator's heart and mind. Even if they did not wish to obey they would be unable to stop their bodies from carrying out his commands.

So they fought at his behest, and ever so slowly rumors began to arise. Of a stunning woman dressed in the finest cloth who butchered her enemies and gleefully tortured them in a myriad of ways, an old man with a bow who could fire arrows capable of hitting the supernaturals who roamed the streets and turned his victims into living compendiums, and of a young man dressed in black and red who simply watched impassively as this all occurred.

While The Joyous found these rumors to be incredibly enjoyable and The Scholarly did not care in the slightest David himself did find them a bit annoying. Rumors and a reputation would not help him until they had grown to the point where him mentioning it would send the lesser supernaturals scurrying away, and he had a long way to go before ever reaching that. Right now all it would get him was unwanted attention at best. But this was no the time for these thoughts. He would worry about the consequences of his actions later. All he wanted to do right now was nap, and so he did. So under the sky of a foreign world David slept.

Hmm, he does have a point. Sakura might not like it, but there's no reason why Caster cannot use it, Rider thought.

Still, despite the validity of his logic, and the fact that the room had been entirely redecorated, Rider was reluctant to set foot in it. She knew what that room had been used for, had seen what had once dwelt there. She had even seen images of Sakura being tortured and raped, in the dreams she sometimes had of her master's past.

"Whilst I do find it somewhat distasteful, after seeing what used to happen down there, your logic does make sense, so there's no problem. I was somewhat surprised Sakura would be willing to go down there, but if it is your workshop then I guess that makes sense", she said, heading down the stairs.

Before she could get halfway down, though, she sensed a presence in the room.

What the hell?

Quickly, she summoned her weapons and jumped down the stairs, crouching in an attack formation.

Wait, it feels like that guy from before.

"What are you doing here? How the hell did you get in?" she asked, angered and shocked by his intrusion.

Oh, God, what if he got to Sakura? I should have stayed with her....

"If you've harmed Sakura in any way, I will make your death slow and painful...", she added, threateningly.

Faust felt a foreign presence swiftly enter the property, disappear for a fraction of a second, reemerging inside Sakura’s room. Before he could take action, the intruder disappeared again, this time appearing inside his library. I’ll catch them by surprise and destroy him swiftly. I don’t know how or why they came in here, but it will be the last mistake they ever make. He quietly followed Rider down the stairs, preparing to erase the enemy’s existence, but then Rider began to speak when they got about halfway down the stairs.

Quote
"What are you doing here? How the hell did you get in?" she asked, angered and shocked by his intrusion.

Faust let out an audible sigh. Or, I guess we can just announce our presence, that’s also an option, I guess. This woman is a menace. Faust snapped, and several imps jumped from their hidden positions, grabbing the man and holding his mouth shut, while black tendrils raced from his feet intent on restraining the man.

“I don’t know what possessed you to do something so foolish as to invade my house, but you won’t live long enough to regret it.”
