Rider smiled.

"I never said your spells could not damage me, I said that it would damage me less than most. My Magic Resistance may not be quite strong enough to withstand your magic entirely, but it does weaken the effect somewhat. Only your stronger spells would cause me serious harm. And, of course Sakura would not wish for you to attack me, but I was not suggesting that. I was simply pointing out that, if you have no choice but to attack the enemy when I am in the firing line, the attack will likely do considerably more damage to them than it would to me. Obviously Sakura would hate to see either of us harmed but, in a battle, it is better that I get injured than that we all end up dead...", she said as she followed him into the library.

"As for what books I like, I will read almost anything. I'm not generally interested in books about mythology, though, although I do enjoy fiction based on it, and I've even written some of my own. I know all of the stories from my status as a Heroic Spirit, and most of the so-called heroes are not very heroic in any case...", she added.
We're talking in circles, might as well drop the topic for now, nothing's coming from it.

"You like fiction in general? Well, that will certantly make it easier for us to find you a book, won't it?"

Puck

Quote
The Joyous pouted for a bit at her position back next to David before it shifted back into a smile and she stood there eagerly. Then David's gaze drifted over to the latest arrival to this little gathering.

Thank god the chase finally stopped. That was so unwarranted. Those nails of hers aren't something he'd love to be in contact with. The fairy stuck out his tongue out at the woman in a mocking manner.

Quote
“Hey, what’s going on here? I’d rather not have to break up a fight.” Ibarra gave everyone present a quick look before continuing. “I’ve gotten reports about dimensional shifts in this area recently. Would any of you happen to know anything about that?”

"Dimens-- wha? Who the hell are you?" Puck requested rather rudely, still angry at the recent chase he was forced to participate in.

Quote
I honestly don't know what is going here, but I don't like you are already brandishing weapons just because somebody asks around. I'm in bad mood already, and I'm willing to take it out on whoever starts the fight"

It looks like girly was sharing similar sentiments. This was a rough night, it didn't need to get any rougher.

Quote
“Call me Ibarra,” the soldier said with a slight Mexican accent, his eyes narrowing as the two men armed themselves. His right hand drifted toward his sidearm, an M1911 pistol, but didn’t draw it, knowing that doing so might provoke a conflict.

Sure enough, the blond woman with the fairy voiced her displeasure at the thick tension, making known her intent to shut down whoever started a fight. She had a spear on her back, but had yet to make a move to draw it. Hopefully she wouldn't feel the need to.

"Oi, Iba--whatever you're called, where are you moving that arm of yours?" Puck called out in suspicion, "I don't like that."

Quote
“I’m not interested in a fight, I just want to ask a few questions, are we cool?” Ibarra looked at the man with the staff, the man with the bow, and the woman in turn. “Now, I’ve received reports of two spatial distortions in the vicinity of this park in the past hour. Can any of you tell me about them?”

"Hands up where I can see'em, buster!"

The fairy ordered imperiously as this time he was dressed in blue cop uniform with the chestnut burr, that is being brandished, fashioned as a nightstick.

"Up! I say!"

David

The dream that lived ignored the little fairy and instead turned his gaze to the man dressed in the uniform and responded, "Well since you asked so nicely I suppose I can help. Brother, would you kindly lend me your services?" The Scholarly scoffed at the tone in David's voice as it pulled out a rod of metal with one hand and a jar of ink with a brush with two other hands. With the skill of an undisputed master he drew dozens of symbols in a language long dead. Every character drew in mana from the air and began to glow with an ominous green light. Then with a surge of blazing heat the letters engraved themselves into the metal, but the green light continued to persist. The Scholarly waved the metal rod and it released a pulse of the sickly green energy. The elderly man did this three more times as David continued to keep The Joyous from going back to plucking the fairy's wings.

The Scholarly then began to speak to David with a voice of fire. The sound of crackling flames emanated from the Lesser Dream's mouth as David nodded. Then as The Scholarly continued to use the rod David turned to Ibarra and said, "It seems as if they came from the area where Mordred just came from. It isn't 100% accurate but an opening to another dimension generally results in an excess of mana or a decrease in the general mana of the area. If magic had been used here it could be slightly off but I've been walking around the area all day and there hasn't been any major disturbance."

Throughout all of this The Joyous had walked up to David's side and her gaze constantly drifted between the two of them. At any sign she was ready to pull David away from the two strangers or engage them herself. Of course the danger of the situation didn't bother her in the slightest as she casually leaned on her elder sibling and giggled.

Mordred

That man was rather inquisitive about 'spatial distortions'. Did he mean the Hedge or looked for something else altogether?

Observing the three for some time already she noticed some peculiar pattern about the behavior of the three. She did know how to put it, but they seemed more like appendages to that human rather than fully autonomous beings. That could rule out them being Changelings. She heard some rumors about mortal magicians materializing aspects of their personality into uncanny manifestations, but somebody actually knowleadgeble in the occult would know.

Certainly Mordred did not like the 'woman'. Deep down she even expected her to become hostile so she was on her guard eyeing for any dangerous move of her.

SAMUEL IBARRA

Ibarra gave the little fairy squawking to put his hands up a dirty look before turning back to the old man, who was writing glowing green runes in the ground. A spellcaster of some kind, he may prove useful, and the younger man seemed to be in charge, perhaps another spellcaster judging by the staff he held.

The ritual continued with flashes of heat and green light, the old man speaking in words the soldier didn't understand. Eventually, the young man, who now had his girlfriend leaning on his shoulder merrily, turned to inform him of their findings.

"Mordred? Which one of you would that be?" Ibarra asked in confusion. The two men didn't seem to be refering to themselves, and that wasn't a name he would normally associate with a woman. Looking among the group, he realized that there was actually one more male he'd forgotten about. "Would that be you?" he asked the fairy flitting about in a cop uniform.

"It's me, not that small hob!" she protested before that critter could say anything embarassing "I know the name sounds odd, but that's how it is." she insisted on not elaborating further why she got that name. She neither wanted to reveal what she is nor tell about her past in company a stranger. She spilled enough beans in front of whom she mistook for her own kind.

"So whaddya want about those Whatjamacallit?" Puck struggled to remember what Ibara mentioned earlier, "Spatial Distortions? What's your problem about them, boyo? They sound like a distorted spade or sumding."

Forest

Forest scowled as she couldn't see anything in the car as Death as in Capital D-This-Is-The-Name-Of-A-Person Death continued talking to Law and the passenger inside his head.  She could hear glimpses of Law's panicked thoughts as well as the Driver's eager ones as Death/Ann continued acting in a way that would have made Wynn shake her head in disgust.  Shirou was wrangling Mia, but Forest understood all too well that No Meant No.

She was about to shatter the windshield when Ann strolled out leaving a trail of rot and decay behind her.  A chill ran through Forest as Shirou gave Mia a hug.  Then he approached Law while the stalled traffic kept honking at them to move.  Forest stepped forward and shouted, "Go around you insufferable twits."

Then she headed back to where Law was and asked, "Are you okay?"

The smell of terror and his arousal was thick in the car.  She flashed him a sympathetic grin and asked, "Do you need an adult?"

Saber

She smiled at Grendel and said, "Officer Riggs would be more than happy to help you."

One of the uniformed officers shouted, "Aww Saber, fuck you."  Then he laughed and Saber turned to Rin.

She nodded and said, "She is an acquaintance of mine and one of the protectors of Nexus City.  I will warn you she may appear . . . stressed and any sarcasm or snide remarks are not directed at you.  That is just how she deals with things.  Reminiscent of Archer, but less abrasive at first."

The Fanged Foursome

"Oh she's a nerd then," Buffy said with a snort, instantly turning away.

Angelus smirked and replied, "Come on now Buff.  It's always good to learn new things."

"Not if its boring," she said with a grin.

Spike lit another cigarette and asked, "So love, what are you researching?  Doing some field work and whatnot."

"She met her," Drusilla said, her blue eyes growing wide and unseeing.  "Grandmother's murderer.  She met her.  Thinks she's delusional and insane."

Dru then laughed, her gaze clearing as she met Deborah's eyes.  "Dearie, you have no idea what delusional and insane is."

"I am an adult. I need booze..." Lawrence clambered into the passenger seat, popping open the glove box. The bottle of rum was far too small for his liking at the moment. Far, FAR too small.

"And could you drive me. Please. I need to finish this off... for reasons. If you scratch my car Shyrow, I will murder you." Law took a swig of the rum, buckling up clad only in his boxers. This day had gone from shitty, to shittier, to officially the shittiest day of his life bar the one he'd died on. "Come on we're holding up traffic..."

Ezra Longinia

Quote
"Dearie, you have no idea what delusional and insane is."

Ezra tensed, waiting. He had only just passed the alley to see five vampires talking to each other, and was about to leave again before he heard the words of the fifth vampire, the one that stood alone against the other four. Now, he waited, as he'd become so accustomed to doing.

The spearman very quietly breathed out, back to the wall. He was very tired of running away from monsters. Now, especially, as the clock ticked towards his eventual end he found himself taking bigger and bigger risks, hunting bigger and bigger game. Well, either way, he refused to move. He would wait for the ball to drop, one way or another.

Mia

Mia followed Shirou and Forest as they approached the meanie, her head moving between each of them.

Her head tilted to the side as she looked up as Forest, “Why would he need an adult? Is he upset because he lost a game?”

Mia then beamed at Law while laughing, “Hihihi, don’t be such a baby. You can’t win every time.” She lectured the meanie while giving him a large toothy grin, the smugness in her voice apparent. She never lost, but that’s because she was good at games.

"Would you like me get you some or just browse the shelves on your own?"

Rider nodded.

"Hmm, I think it's best if I take a look", she said, walking towards the shelves. "Although.... Do you have any recommendations?"

Faust walked towards the shelves, “Sure, I can give you some recommendations. You mentioned you enjoyed historical fiction, right?”

He reached up and grabbed a book off the top of one of the numerous bookshelves, handing Rider a book with ‘Goethe’ written in large letters on its spine.

“Personally, this one always amuses me. I’m not sure you’ll find it as amusing as I do, but it’s well written all the same. If you want something less sophisticated, I won’t hold it against you.”

"If you want information, on the other hand, there's no need to be so rough," he says, preparing himself to summon Tyrfing and Rahab, if he has to, while also prepping a Shield Concept, just in case, "I can't promise I'll know what you want to know, however; I've yet to establish a proper intel network."
Intel network? A spy, then. Her hands kept a firm grip on the man, not loosing up in the slightest.

"To whom have you sworn fealty to, Mage?" Elyssa's robotic, yet feminine, voice demanded through a series of speakers.

Fealty? That sounds way too old fashioned...Perhaps some kind of golem instead?

"If you're going to talk about fealty...Nobody, really. I'm just kinda by myself at this point. What do you want to know, anyway? I mean, I might be able to help, if you need it..."
