Eleanor

But by the point the flesh had already fallen limp and dead. The briefcase was forced open with a torrent of amniotic fluid as newborn limbs forced them open. Eleanor arose, unblemished and unharmed as she yanked flesh off of her form, leaving it on the ground still twitching. Then she gestured towards the definitely dead flesh and yanked it up. The flesh came apart, flowing as red fibers as they weaved a new and lovely dress around her form.

"My apologies for the wait. I simply find that form quite unappealing to stay in. That girl you're with, she really is quite remarkable."

Lighthart

The paladin whistled with a look of bemusement. "Not bad. So you do speak. I suppose that makes things simpler." She laid down the girl and smiled. "Indeed, she has a lot of potential. I do need someone capable like her, but skill is insufficient if one lacks heart. I believe she has shown quite enough just now." She declared, barely restraining an amused giggle. She seemed to be finally in a good mood, yes, and yet it was hard to tell just what she was thinking...

"Which brings us to our current problem. As a polishing stone, you were adequate. Hannah truly did shine in that bout, and for that I suppose I should thank you. But the opposition you gave was less than laughable. What sort of amusement is there in someone who does naught but weaken her foes before picking them off?"

Amanda

"No thank you my most adorable knight."

Yup she definitely was teasing him. With a grin she took the seat he so kindly offered.

"So how long have you been here? I guess you it's not too long since you haven't recognized who I am."

Indeed, the other guests had thrown them look when they walked by, mostly aimed at her as they whispered among each other about it. The fact she was one of the highest ranking nobles in Pine Garden was widely known, yet he hadn't said a word or given any of knowing about her.

Archer

Archer found himself smiling as Amanda teased him.  He waited until she was settled to sit down herself.  In the corner of his eye he caught quite a few of the patrons looking at her with hushed whispers.

He answered, "Not long at all.  Basically time enough to get a shop working and adopt a lazy cat.  However, it's obvious that most of everyone here recognizes you."

Charlotte

With her the raven-haired beauty's attention distracted for a moment, Charlotte took stock of her situation, trying to figure out how to adapt the ideas floating around in her head. Deciding she needed a bit more breathing room, the cowgirl pushed her dazed opponent back before rolling them both over and sitting up, turning the other woman's body scissors into a Boston Crab, wrapping her arms around the woman's long legs and using them as a lever to wrench her back.

"Huh, haven't pulled this out in a while," Charlotte remarked, the pieces clicking together as she allowed a chuckle.

Dahlia

By the time her brain got back into place she was already in the hold, and damn it if Dahlia was pleased with that trick. "You're, nn, a real pain in the ass sometimes. Anyone ever tell you that, sweetheart?"

This would be a hell of a hold to get out of by herself, but it just took a bit of fiddling as she squirmed and thrashed about to get the knife out of her sleeve and make a stab at the bounty hunter's back with all the force the inhuman muscles hiding beneath her skin could muster. "Off you go!"

"Amusement? I don't have these little battles for your amusement. I already dance for another's strings, and they have yet to punish me for something as trifling as this battle." Honestly, everyone in this city could be so certain of themselves. Pompous pieces on the board, none would hold such pride if they had heard and seen and felt what she had. The banquets of the Red Grail, the furtive plans of the Beach Crow, the shadow of the Watchman, the fiery touch of the Forge of Days on her skin. She brought shaking hands to her mouth as she fashioned a pipe out of the earth and a hint of powder from her briefcase. A deep inhale calmed her nerves.

Charlotte

"A few people," Charlotte quipped back, "Either brave or dead, and the former are worth getting to know."

Then she heard the rasp of a knife slipping free of it's sheath, the bounty hunter abandoning the hold and moving away from the downed woman.

"Hey hey, easy with the kitchenware," she said with a laugh, moving back to Willy Pete and retrieving the gun, quickly unjamming it with one hand.

Dahlia

The very moment the hold ended was when the giant-blooded woman grabbed her guns off the ground and kicked off it. She went over the fencing surrounding the basketball court with a flip and hit the pavement running "Afraid we'll have to take a rain check on that one!"

She sent a few supernaturally accurate potshots back in her opponent's direction for good measure.

Lighthart

"Well, at the least I cannot fault you for being as craven as your way of fighting." The smile turned into acceptance and she held out a hand, letting her cape flutter like wings of ebony on her back. "What's wrong child? Can you not breathe without squirming so?"

With a calm closure of her eyes, she sighed confidently. In an instant, she had crossed the measly distance between them and reached her heart with her fingertips. Her smile was yet to fade, like an unfaltering expression, but more than anything her voice was as resolute as ever.

She had seen those eyes before. Those that spoke of such things. You cannot win. You cannot resist. You cannot escape this. This is far beyond you. Who decided on thse words? Were they the masses? The laws of the universe? Or perhaps God?

No. Only she would decide on such things.

"If you really think such despair is enough to topple me, then why not show me instead of cowering behind your smoke? How long are you going to stay dead?" She told her, breathing the same air as the corpse in bold defiance.

Charlotte

Charlotte barely put any thought into picking off the parting shots with Lenny Nickels while she finished unjamming Willy Pete. With that done, the bounty hunter figured that her mark would have enough of a lead at this point and took off after the raven-haired woman, eyes still burning crimson and lit up with sparks of excitement.

"What, take a rain check on some well-earned fun? Not happenin', darling!" Charlotte called back, leaping over the court all together and following after her.

  Eleanor

The soft thrum of her heart under the fingers of another, it was always a lovely experience. Pain and pleasure were all but identical to her at this point after all. "A prideful piece does not make a player. I determine what is true, the laws of the universe will not constrain me, I will spit in the face of God and win. Those are the thoughts of a child in a sand pit, assured of their power over even more worthless things."

She knows that she was not always like this. She was different before, but it was hard to remember how. The deep inhalation, the numbing of her mind, it took just the slightest edge off of reality. It reminded her that once the woman Eleanor was not unhappy.

"Besides, I cannot show anything to the willfully blind."

"Ah yes about that, I'm a Harrington. We own half the Nexus, well not quite but we're influential...." She held up a finger and then a second as if she was counting something.

"Oh and secondly I'm the Police Chief here, but I think you already know that. Better watch out or I might close you down~" She added teasingly at the end.

She crossed her hands on the table, aquamarine eyes regarding him with the light of curiosity.

"I was thinking back on when we first met, you froze up and called me something, hmm Tohsaka was it. Was that someone close to you?"

"Can you huuuuurry uuuuup I'm huuuuungry." The redhead was skipping around while complaining about her current predicament. Shifting from left to right leg as she tried to pass the time.

"And why does your taste have to be so boooring."

Of course she couldn't really hold the comments in when she was practically starving, not that she could normally either but now was it was doubly so.

Olga Marie

"Huh? What do you mean, boring! You're not exactly wearing the most interesting underwear yourself, you know." Olga seemed upset and frightened at the thought of being boring. "What would you recommend?

"That is mine to decide too." She told her determinedly. The fingers that touched Eleanor's heart began to shimmer with light, and the wound did not bleed any substance but rather power. Such a wound did not have the intent or power to kill, no less than opening a book and changing its form would harm it. Because when her eyes glowed with the incandescent light of truth, it was only for one purpose. The power to look, to see, and to understand what no one else could. That was something that humanity had been collectively working towards for millennia, and yet she was granted that power since her birth.

That power was meant to connect people, to let them understand one another. But how could one see through the eyes of someone who saw everything?

To some, blindness was preferable to being unable to be looked at.

"Kah! No way, I'm not one to sit back and be spoonfed, and you're not my type." He stretched a little, looming over the girl  with his gangling frame dangling over her head. He picked off the weapon and whistled a merry tune, cracking his neck. "But if you do find a nice catch, let me know. A hunter needs to keep his spear sharp, you know?"
