Shinobu

"Are you saying that you aren't human, Shinobu?" He asked, interest piqued, "And aren't you cold?"

"Ah, no I'm not. As for the cold well you could say I like the night" Shinobu replied while chuckling a bit, so it seemed these humans had a healthy degree of perceptice ability.

"No, she's saying she's a pervert. Probably some sick fetishist. How can someone like that call herself human!?" Shinobu  burst out into what could only be described as a mad laughter, something horrible was about to happen.

"A pervert you say? What if I am? You seem to be forgetting one thing though miss scientist, I'm not the one with tentacles in her backpack. She replied with a vicious smile like that of a predator closing in on its prey.

AKIHOLARME

Caedia shifted to a frost spell, and suddenly a wall of ice burst from the ground and slammed into the dragonborn, pushing her so hard she smashed through the door behind her. She landed hard on her back, the world a blur as her mind struggled through the pain to process what had just happened. Then she realized she couldn’t breathe, and panicked for a split second before realizing she had only gotten the wind blown out of her.

Aki tried to stand up, but was halted by a sharp, burning pain in her chest. The ice hadn’t pierced her armor, but the impact had broken a rib or two. Concentrating enough for a healing spell took some effort, but she managed to restore her body enough to move around. She stood back up, looking around to see where Crest and Caedia were.

KOTOMINE KIREI

Kotomine strode through the industrial complex, forcing himself to focus and not be distracted by his rage. Strange though, it seemed as though the walls were trembling. The priest hadn’t thought himself susceptible to such tricks of the eyes.

His eyes grew wide and his gut sank when he realized that it was far more than just a trick of the eyes. The entire building swayed, once, twice, made a sickening grinding noise, and then collapsed on itself. Even the blast furnace itself, already weakened by the dragon’s previous barrage, toppled to the side. The superheated gas and liquid metal inside escaped, and the ruined structure rapidly caught fire. A yellow and orange haze brought light to the world of night.

The robed priest clawed his way out of the rubble, appearing no worse for the wear, bits of ruined metal clattering as he pushed them aside. His teeth ground together as he surveyed the wreckage. It seemed even the city itself and all its denizens had conspired against him today. He could feel a long suppressed rage bubbling to the surface. He mastered it of course - he had risen above base instinct - but the idea of venting his wrath on the people still nearby was extremely appealing.

The Saint
The wind bellowed on this night. The clouds hanged low, and the light of the city shined bright. The nexus was a city that never truly rested. There was also something, happening, somewhere. There were always active people, moving people, working people, living people. Even though there are those that use the night to pray, many people refused to live in fear.

Perhaps that was part of its beauty. It was a standing testament to the human will, the human will to create something even if they were taken away, even if they were stolen from what they knew, even if they struggled.

But in that sense it was also cruel; in that sense it was also unforgivable. But even the Nexus could be judged; even the Nexus could be overcome.

For the Truth surpasses all.

For the Truth judges all.

For all belongs to the Truth.

And all around the city, in four separate points, brilliant pillars of light broke the sky. They raised high, each pillar taking the form of an elegant spiral before it straightened into a solid beam. The light pierced the clouds, and the clouds were pushed away, making the sky clear.

The pillars reached the heavens and their light made the sky bright. Not the black of night, not the blue of day, not the colors of the setting or rising sun.

No, a blanket of pure white spread though the sky, a perfectly pure white, and a white in which all is harmonious, all is equal, and all is true.

Then the pillars began to narrow, becoming brilliant rays, while giant spheres of light formed in the sky high above their origin point, the ray passing though the center.

Like four suns they sat in the sky, brilliant and incandescent.

Bright and almighty.

Perfect.

And then the light from those suns’ shot to a point between all of them, the direct center of the area they formed. And there the white began to collect, forming another sphere. The light blead into the sky, dying it completely white, and the temperature throughout the city rose and the snow and slush slowly began to melt, and suddenly soft flakes of white began to fall, like a soft winter snow.

And bellow that apex spear a man stood. His eyes closed and arms spread as he held his arms out, almost as if accepting something.

And the light around him danced to the sphere. Like an infinite amount of souls making their way to heaven.

This was his duty.

This was the first step.

Viper Den

Elsewhere a woman remained a room, her hand tightly grasping her spear, as she listened, and she waited. Her brown hair was no longer long, cut short after her failure earlier that day.  She checked over her gear, making sure everything was prepared. And her spear shimmered, almost as if wet.

She was the snake and all who entered her lair would be her pray.

And somewhere within the labyrinth, the pendent glowed brilliantly, its light permeating the ground and any crack, and found its way to the heavens.

The “Nexus Reconstruction” Corporate Building

It was a wonderful courtyard, beautiful shrubbery, a couple of trees on the outside near the edge. The tall buildings flanked it on all sides, except for the one side guarded by a large metal fence.  But it was empty. Quiet and empty without a soul in sight.

Meanwhile the pendant floated above a fountain, and the light from it kept pouring into the spire of light which it was within the center of.

And a pair of hidden blue eyes watched with interest.

Matou Construction Site

A man stood near a spire of light and around him were piles of stone, dirt and machines. He reached up and pulled the helmet hanging from his back over his head, allowing the metal to clasp shut.

And then the metal seemed to shift as if a series of scales, moving closer to his body and forming a more perfect fit. And from his back he drew his massive battle axe, a loud crunch as it was put to rest on the ground, and he stood stalwart.

And the light from the pendent continued.

Rogers’ Theater

An older man sat, his legs dangling off the edge of the stage he sat upon. On his back was a shield, and on his belt a sheathed sword. In one of his hands he held a spear, and in the other he held a small blue gem, with a cord tied around it, that shimmered as if it was filled with stars.

He simply sat there staring into the gem. And there he waited, and allowed the hovering pendent behind him to continue to shine.

The white sun has risen. And a new day comes. The brilliant snow like light fell upon the city; it fell upon houses, upon apartment, upon offices, upon the concreate that made the streets.

It reached far, from the police stations, to various homes from the most beautiful old houses to the modern apartment. It fell upon streets, it fell upon people.

Some of those ‘people’ began to wince, feeling pain. Some of them simply looked on in wonder. Far and wide this is what occurred. But yet it could still not reach the entirety of the Nexus.

The White Sun Consecration begins.

Now, who will welcome it, and who will challenge it?

That is the only question left to ask.

Ghost Child

The spirit laughed and laughed as the building came crashing down. As the enslaved spirits rose from the rubble he pointe a finger at the priest as he came out from the rubble and with the slightest bit of Essence allowed his mocking joy to be heard. The sound of him blowing a raspberry soon followed before the child scurried away, but as he dragged the silent yet suffering ghosts with him he saw all the bodies both old and new that had ended up around the area and smiled innocently.

With a swing of his arms the recently dead were forced to inhabit the bodies once more and began to rise and move towards everyone within the vicinity. Those with guns nearby grabbed onto them and immediately began to open fire while those without them simply rushed towards the people intent on simply hitting them.

Sewage Worker PARIAH

Inside the sewers flesh reshaped itself from the shape of a sewage worker down to the small, childish form of the virus. Tendrils slowly moved from his body and began to latch onto every shred of flesh and bone they could find before having it consumed by PARIAH. His lip quivered and he petulantly stomped the ground with enough force to shatter the concrete and spread spiderweb cracks to the walls.

Others were here killing them!? Killing him? Weren't they all him? He paused. Thoughts sped. It was strangstrangestrange. He had never thought of it before. They were him but it was something that simply was. One did not think about it. Something was wrong. Dissonant. Thoughts that were in him but not his that lasted a mere moment.

Anger faded from his eyes. He needed to think about it but not know. The sound of feet against the ground echoed through the empty tunnel as he made his way east. First he was going to eat the rats. Then he would grow and spread to everywhere, but not now. Soon. He hummed a bit and his hair turned white and his eyes red. Maybe they would want to play hide and seek? It was fun with sister before.

Then shaking his armored head, "You know what? Never mind. We need to get her clothes and we need shelter."

Noriko

The fight between those two reckless people had started, and the mage decided to retreat. She didn't want to be entangled in a fight beyond her ability. She didn't want to lose her life by getting into the way of two ridiculously strong monsters. Besides, Seras might lose, so she had to save her skin in case Seras wouldn't be around for the final measure.

Shendu

The street was swarming with stray flames and heat, illuminated by consuming orange and yellow light. Shendu's powers clashed with the elemental, but could not hurt it - there was no burning fire itself of course, but that that was fine for the demon sorcerer. Let it stand there and block his fire. The ones it was shielding could not claim the same resistance, and there was so much in which he could be matched. They would burn all the more slowly and agonizingly because of it.

Then, there was a blur of movement that trailed with smoke and embers, so fast the residues from crossing the killing field were the only reason it could be seen at all. Shendu's heat vision fizzled as he blinked and realized the figure was already all but touching him.

The handle in Shendu's hold shattered as the blade was snatched away by the wraith-child. The cutting dark chi pulsed when she clenched it, her naked hand somehow unsevered. The silver edge melded with her arm in a motion he could not follow with his eyes, but like liquid power to his sixth sense. It and she sank into his jaw, causing the dragon demon to growl gutturally. His flesh tore along their path and closed behind it, but his focus over the power of combustion fizzled to nothing, thundering protests from his throat silencing the gargles of pain. The ravage led him to the ground, delivering his threshing mass onto cracked cement and ripping rubble.

The keeper of the talismans heard the distorted scream, but didn't process it. His whole mind focused only on what he could see, the form of his attacker, and his body responded accordingly. His arm shot out and caught the not child and sword like a pea in a pod. Raging distaste conflicted with appaling curiosity as he beheld the flowing essence more closely. Whatever she really was, she was uncomfortably dangerous. He would have to fix that first.

Shendu squeezed, in a cruel crushing grip.

Hyoudo Tenma

"Oh you bitch you didn't just say that." Tenma scowled, clenching her fists and glaring at the exhibitionist with eyes full of murder.

"I am not a mere miss scientist! I am the great doctor Hyoudo Tenma! DOCTOR MAD SCIENTIST! The very best, the best there ever was! I didn't spend six years in Evil Graduate school to be called 'miss' thank you very much!"

Shinobu

" Are you threatening me? I've had small fry like you for breakfast since before your grandmother was born!  I who has lived for over 500 years and seen the ends of the world!" She proclaimed in over the top boast emphasising every syllable to a comical degree. She slowly walked up to the scentist while saying this until she was right in her face.

"So do you have anything else to say, miss?"

Lone Wanderer:

Okay, this was getting annoying. "Knock it off," he sternly said while pushing them apart, "Both of you."

Then he turned to Tenma. "Now, where are we?"

Hyoudo Tenma

Thatbitchthatbitchthatbitchthatbitchthatbitchthatbitchthatbitchthatbitchthatbitchthatbitchthatbitchthatbitchthatbitchthatbitchthatbitchthatbitchthatbitch!

Tenma was practically seething with hate, her eyes looking like they were about to strangle that mega bitch. From her stance, it almost looked like she was about to jump on her and bite her. Luckily for her, Jerry split the two before she could exert her almighty wrath. Talk about devil's luck. While that did calm her down a bit, it didn't make her pissed off-ness any less pissed off. Small fry? Miss? That perverted asshat was looking down on her.

"I just said I have no idea!" She yelled out, slapping his hand away before storming to the girl once more. Glaring at her, she spoke up sternly with a voice trembling with anger.

"Now listen up you skanky shit ass dipshit. I don't have a problem with you sticking around and being naked, nor do I mind you being a freak of nature or anything like that. It's not like I give a shit or anything, you can fuck him and have all the naked orgies you want for all I care! But if you're going to play that game, I'll let you know I can play much rougher. Capiche!?"

Shinobu

"Since when were you under the impression I was playing any game, Hyoudo Tenma, mad scientist of the Evil graduate school. This is a rather peculiar situation we have here. You might think I'm looking down on you but that's merely a side product of living a long life as a being of great power. So I was thusly informing you that it would be unwise to try and provoke me as I would most likely kill you" Shinobu was saying this with a great deal of apathy as if detached from the situation at hand.

She continued in a somewhat more friendly voice "on the question of where we are, this seems to be a park of some sorts, unfortunately I  can't deduce anything beyond that".

Lone Wanderer:

Jeremy sighed. This back and forth was just plain ridiculous, honestly. Though, he often seen that people fighting out their problems does help.  "You two can duke it out, then. Nothing below the waist and keep the head punching to a minimum. In the meantime, I'm gonna get my gun and chems before some scavenger tries to ta-" He turned and saw that, indeed, there was a scavenger trying to take his gun and chems, "Hey! Hey you! You best drop that gun right now!"

Fortunately the man complied, dropping the contraption before running away from the armored being bull-rushing his way.

Hyoudo Tenma

Tenma turned to Jerry and looked at him like he was stupid. At the very least, he was helpful. Thanks to him, she snapped back and managed to put her anger aside to focus on the situation. She'd totally give that ho a whoopin' eventually though.

"Huh? I have better things to do than fighting children. Like conquering the world!" She said with sass. Then, she sighed deeply and looked up.

"Anyhow, if we're all from anywhere but here, we should figure something out. Anyone remember what you did prior to getting in here?"

Shinobu

Shinobu had a look around the park, besides the scavenger running off in the distance it appeared to be fairly empty besides the three of them, and the giant crater of course.

"Before I came here I was eating delicious donuts, and before that I had donuts, mhm donuts is the food of the gods. Oh and I was a kid too. But nope I don't remember anything in particular besides falling or maybe getting shot out of a canon is a more apt description, my clothes burnt up and I myself would be pretty flat if it wasn't for my great healing factor. Hitting the ground at that speed still hurts more than you could possibly imagine." Shinobu ranted on with no care for stopping.

Shinobu then lowered her gaze and spoke with a more worried tone "Furthermore this place is giving me an odd feeling, like something is seriously amiss."
