Marcus

Marcus watched her movements carefully from the back of his seat.  Back in his old world, he had fought countless battles with supernatural threats, to the point where he might know how to fight them better than normal people.  Using the crazy girl's reflexes, he was able to track her movements, so long as she stayed within the frame of the window.  As she approached, he rolled down the window, and got ready to aim the gun.

The moment the knives sunk into the tires, Marcus used her inhuman speed to pop his still half naked upper torso out the window. The rough winds brushing against his still wet muscles suddenly came to an abrupt end as the car began to slow down.  This did not get in his down at all.  With the barrel of the gun aimed at the Costin's chest, he pulled the trigger, causing a loud bang to erupt through the city streets.  It would be hard for her to dodge in midair, but at this point, it would be foolish not to assume she can't.

With his thumb, he cocked the firing hammer, preparing for another shot.  With a battle hungry smirk he said, "Its payback time."

Joe

Joe frowned at her comment, not because her cynical criticism destroyed the believability of the movie, but because he was really starting to understand just how much this magical culture had forced her view of the world to become so... jaded.  That man from her story.  Maybe she liked him because he was a dreamer...

So, he wrapped his arm around her shoulder and pulled her as close as their separate seats would allow.  "Well they might not care, but if they touch lips it still counts.  Besides, its easy enough to buy into it if its hot enough," he retorted honestly.

Costin

Bullets hit her squarely in the chest, but failed to pierce her heart and she simply kept going. Her blood hardened just when she saw the cheeky fuckwit, as if a bullet would put an immortal monster down, a rocket launcher would've been more effective.

"C'mon, c'mon! Is that all you got? Hahahahahahahahaha!" She laughed as she kept chasing, this time forming three swords in each of her hands that eerily resembled black keys from the church, covering herself from harm while she kept drawing closer and closer.

Forest

Forest stopped the car, not wanting to hurt the wheels or axels any further with the slashed tires.

She bit her lip and considered her options for a split second.  Then, reaching down, she popped the mechanism for the boot, opening it.  While Marcus was firing, Forest got out of the car and made a mad dash to the trunk, picking up the battle axe she had stashed there.

This was going to be messy.  It was probably going to hurt.  Her chance of winning this fight was slim unless she pulled some rabbit out of her hat at the eleventh hour.

She didn't hesitate as she came barreling at Costin while Marcus hopefully laid some cover fire for her.

Rin

Rin let Joe draw her close as he gave his opinion of the kiss.

She didn't buy the couple's relationship.  If anything, like she had told Joe, the most interesting character was the villain.  The British actor playing him should have been beyond such rolls, but there he was and he looked like he was having fun with it.

"The martial arts are more believable honestly," Rin said before their neighbor sent them another glare.

Marcus

Marcus leapt out of the car, rolling into a standing position with the gun still aimed at Costin.  He fired another bullet into her swords, cocking the hammer as he bolted towards her.  "Are you kidding me?  Saying something like that might make me cry," he said as he cocked his arm back.

The follow up attack had two layers to it.  His arm would come forward in a right hook as if it were going to strike the woman in the forehead, only for it to come up into a block.  Meanwhile, his leg would lift upward, striking her lower body as she moved herself to block the fist coming towards her face.

There was a creeping feeling coming over him.  His muscles tensed, bracing themselves for the inevitable counter strike.

Joe

Joe took in her comment as the movie continued.  The big climax was happening now and the couple was finally finalizing their feelings.  It was pretty standard and generic, but it was clear that the real focus of the movie was building the chemistry between the villein and the hero, so Joe wasn't bothered much.

Letting out a groan, Joe's next sentience sounded more like a pout.  "Yeah, I guess your right.  But the kiss was still pretty hot right?  Like they had some physical chemistry at least."

Fancy moves, the lot of them! But she had little eye for strategy or common sense at the moment, all she wanted to do was slaughter them like cattle on christmas eve so their feints and complex moves were entirely wasted. She didn't even try to dodge or bloc, she just spun around madly with her swords in order to slash everything in her way in blind murderous glee, not caring if they dodged or parried or hit her in the process.

Forest

Costin was attacking with ferocity, acting more and more like some rabid dog in her attacks.  They were completely animistic and brutal, yet she left herself open.  She was blocking with her blood swords, and Forest blocked one of those ferocious slashes with her axe.

While Marcus traded blows with the other vampire, Forest feinted and then moved behind Costin.  There was no flare to her movements, just economy of motion.  Then she raised her axe to swing at the other vampire's head.

Rin

"Somewhat," Rin said before making a face at the screen.  "I don't know though, even though they had chemistry their relationship was forced.  Why would an archeologist go after some vigilante outlaw with no prospects?  Sure he's good at punching and kicking people, but what would they talk about?  Why would they even date after the adrenaline rush wears off?"

Irene

She stalked her way through the night, pondering on the information she'd so far acquired - or rather pilfered - while contemplating the way to her next objective. Before the night ended, she needed to gather as much information as possible on her surroundings and the threats that awaited. The complete shift in geography and paradigm was a disorienting affair that still had not come to a compromise in her mind, but she was already used to acting before everything was clear to her. It was one of her good points, one of her teachers had said.

Not like Irene had the privilege of waiting for everything to become clear, from where she stood, and she certainly didn't want to rely on those bloodsuckers - heh - in medical robes and white suits. She was in their debt, and for now that was all the association she was comfortable with.

She sighed, following her mental map through the neon-lit stilted streets to an informer. She had luckily secured a place to lair for now through Julius's name (though it was quite stifling to have to turn back mid-way due to her boiling forgetfulness and ask for an address to where he was staying), but - well, if she had to be frank it was easier than she thought to acquire those directions.

But if everything in the Nexus was as claimed, then it was no wonder information went out of its way to be known to newcomers. And no doubt exponentially greater in value.

Before he could even finish his combo, she was spinning wildly intent on slashing at them with no concern for her own safety.  Naturally, instead of following through with the kick, he tried to step back, only to have his fingers slashed by her mad rush.

"Hehehe..."

It was at this point that something snapped.  The rush of battle had finally taken over his mind.  There was no way to combat this kind of fighting.  It was that kind of impossible to predict craziness that came from someone who had embraced death many times.  To win this, he would have to throw away a part of himself.

Im not going to lose!

So he rushed forward, digging his foot into the pavement in order to make a mighty leap.  His body made a small little arc, flying through the air intent on sacrificing his legs so he could land ontop of Costin's chest. with the barrel of his gun pressed to her face.

"Are you serious woman?!  Do you think you're the only one who is stupid enough to try something like this?!"

Butler

At the doors of a well-groomed, high rise apartment building in one of the nicest residential areas of the dense urban web of the Nexus, a tall and dignified man waited under the scrutiny of the troll-like yet immaculate security guard, holding a folded newspaper under his arm. He would have been the perfect picture of elegance, left to uncerimoniously wait out in the cold of undue suspicion, were it not for the fact his face was an unsettling, bare skull with an eyepatch.

Despite that, he did not seem bothered, at least as far as the faint but undying light within his exposed eye socket and his expressionless face could show. It was natural to be cautious of those with unusually striking appearances, whether you lived in the realm of the common or the absurd, and it would be incredibly crass of him to not be able to even stand this.

Although he did have to question the misplaced guidance in that logic. One could never know what lurked beneath the face of a common man or woman, and here even more so. If you questioned the veracity of every unexpected sight, then you must question the truth of all that appears normal as well.

He had served several who fit the bill for the latter concerns, and he had ingrained it in himself to discern them, but one could not spend every new meeting and time knowing people thereafter laden in suspicion without a reason for it. Nor could you simply accept everything at face value. The answer lay in striking a balance that adhered to your needs and your surroundings.

Butler hoped that he could find a master who themselves knew such moderation, regardless of what their seeming suggested and their true mien concealed. Perhaps by answering this advertisement, he could be fulfilled a little longer. So he waited for the person who had placed that call for a housekeeper, confirmed by the building guard to be out, to arrive.

The pirate grabbed the woman by the shoulder and his fire almost felt like it could genuinely burn her. "I won't. I won't let anyone die." He declared with the entirety of his soul, words so bold and fiery they scorched more than the flames of hell.

Then, he turned to the kid. "Hehe, looks like we're partners now." He said in a cheerful casual tone before rubbing his head and messing up his hair.

It didn't take long for the birds to do their work, and even less for him to intercept the woman his boss was after. This was one of his talents, and an area of expertise for the matter. So as the vampire walked along the streets, he waited for heron a rooftop, sitting nonchalantly with the boy at his side right under his great coat to keep him warm.

And then, she came near enough for him to get a good look, and he judged that he had gotten the right lady. Grinning from ear to ear, he decided to be a gentleman and say hi to the little girl under his burning feet.

"Yo."

She looked up at the presence she had faintly noticed when crossing this street, right before opening the door to the parlor in front of her. Irene had hoped it wasn't anything with her, but it appeared she had drawn at least some attention, so there was no sense in ignoring it.

When she looked up at the dreadfully unusual sight of a faceless, burning skeleton, she felt a migraine of aggression run up her skull and culminate in a small twitch of her eyelid. Sure, she had smelled something in embers, but she did not expect this. And frankly, after the run-in with some localized extreme weather earlier, she had no interest in the polar opposite.

"Good night, sir smokey. Do you have some business with me?" She asked, her thoughts hidden behind an enchanting smile honed over decades.

The passion behind the skeleton's words forced Hazel's face to loosen.  "Good, I am holding you to that you worthless elemental," she said with a wink.  A smile crept onto her face as she watched them leave.  Then, her body dissolved into smoke, pushed away by the changing winds.

Mason followed Lorenzo, keeping quiet as he perked up.  This was his first time on a mission without one of the higher ups with him and it was hard to maintain his excitement.  He listened eagerly to the conversation, waiting for a chance to be useful.

The undead chuckled in good humor, taking her jest with stride. He liked her already, that one, a bold woman was always a thing to behold. "Ho? Do I really look so suspicious that I'd need an ulterior motive to greet a lovely emerald in my way?" He answered casually, snorting a reply as snarky as hers. Then, he flicked his fingers and a rose of thorns and fire appeared in his hand.

"And what if I did, little flower? Heh..." He said before dropping the beautiful construct down below, scattering petals and letting it lie beautifully before her feet. For a romantic, he sure was old fashioned.

She refused to answer what is was about, was she relly gonna play coy now of all times? He didn't have really time to retort as their ride came to pick them up. They got into the car that Oka had called for, he really felt hungry by now. Right on cue Oka begun diggin through her bag and pulled out two sandwiches, offering them to him.

"I'm not even gonna question why you had those." He said as he accepted the offering and dug in, This would really help him until they got to the restaurant. "Thanks." He blurted out mid bite, the man really was hungry, tearing his way through the poor sandwiches like a starving wolf.

Oka Kurosawa

Oka responded with a radiant smile. "Haha, It's leftover from lunch. Nothing weird about that, right?" She asked him, grabbing for his arm but stopping mid go, not wanting to interrupt his meal. He really did look completely ravenous. She worried for the contents of her wallet.

Oh well, whatever happens happens.

Seeing him eating the sandwiches gave her an idea though. It was spring, after all.

"We should go have a picnic one of these days, don't you think?"

The two of them tried flanking her, obviously intending to hit her from both left and right. That cheap tactic wouldn't work on her, the protagonist of protagonists. And who were really the brats here?

She lazed around with apparent arrogance as they rushed her. Only in the final moment did she jump backwards, this made them crash into each other and topple over like bowling pins.

She looked down on them, but not with gleeful arrogance or pity, just exuberant cheerfulness. "Who are you boys calling brat here? You two are like barely out of diapers. Maybe you should go for a course or three hundred in trashtalking first cause you guys suck."
